Since we migrated to our new forum on all fronts, we've had quite a few of our members contact us about the inability to post. Some of this stems from our new single point login. You may not have created a forum username right away when signing up, but we have this simple tutorial for you to follow in order to get you on your way to participating.
Setting your Forum Name:
1. Complete your sign-up procedure.
2. Navigate to your profile. (Easily done via the navigation bar.)
3. Under profile, select "edit" on the forum name field and complete. (Here is a handy image for a visual reference.)
Please be cautious when creating your username. Human errors are not our fault and we don't have the ability to change your username once you've set it. If you're unhappy about your choice, then please do feel free to create a new profile.
If you're concerned about making a new profile due to redeeming your Premium Elite subscription, then you're in luck! This subscription is tied to your gamer persona, not your account with us. You need only unlink your persona from your previous account and then relink to your new one.
I'd also like to take the time to let everyone know that we are well aware of some of the present issues when making posts. The moderator team and I have a kept a fairly positive and open discussion about these issues with our administrators to get things in shape. These things take time as the site moves forward with new features and functionality, but rest assured that they will be addressed in due time.
Context: This question is normally asked when a user scrolls over a forum username. The result is a "digital card" that pops up which displays content such as rank + points, status, friend links and an email field. Viewing the "card" of other users the email field is set to "private" while their own is shown. This leads to understandable confusion and concern.
Answer: It already is. You need not perform any changes to your profile to keep your email safe.
