2-3 second blackouts

I have for some time experienced blackouts, when playing Modern Warfare 3. They happen for 2-3 seconds at a time at random intervals.

What exactly happens when I say blackout is the screen going black and then going back to normal as if nothing had happened. Whenever this happens it sound like a fan in the computer is increasing its RPM and I'm pretty sure it's the graphic card's.

I'm running a Windows 7, 64-bit system with the following specifications:

- CPU: Intel Core i5 2500K (not overclocked)

- RAM: Corsair 16 GB DDR3 1600 MHz

- SSD: OCZ Vertex 3 128 GB

- GPU: NVidia GeForce GTX570 1280 MB GDDR5 RAM

I'm running the newest drivers for my graphic card and all updates for Windows are installed.

I really hope someone has some clue as to why this is happening and possibly a fix. It is getting pretty annoying.
