If you would like some Food for thought read on;

 

1. The key themes arising from mw3 performance are thatt IW have struggled with latency management, spawn logic and Community Management., largely due to infrequent and poorly integrated Communications. IW has lost creditiblity with Community Leaders and Optinion shapers largely due to mis-management of the Communications process. I could add a lot of comment on BH and Elite but this is a whole can of worms I will avoid for brevity.

 

2. Community Management and latency rectification are generally superior through 3arc over IW as IW do not do good Community Comms see point 1 and IW and lost half it's devs at crucial mw3 Dev stages. This loss of experienced talent likely contributed to inadequate levels of work and testing on Latency Management and Spawn Logic based on game performance and Community and Media investigation Nov 11-Mar 12.

 

4. I Suggest the success of CoD franchise will lie heavily on how 3arc demonstrates it is likely to deliver improved latency management and spawn performance in lead up to BO2 release Nov this year. Vonderhaar needs to understand that IW have made his customer base angry and wary that they will be "arse-raped" on latency and spawns given the performance of IW. It is cruticial for Vonderhaar to get on the front foot on these issues and win but the Community Leader and Opinion Shapers that these issues will be sorted. Involving these people in a closed beta will likely be under consideration.

 

5. There is some evidence the 3arc have got the message at point 4. Tweet traffic to Vonderhaar traffic contains a significant % of lag and spawn content. I guarantee BO2 engineers are buffing the engine in these areas as we speak and will test the hell out of it. Again closed a beta may well be a tool that is deployed from August to assure BO2 delivers a solid FPS experience and to win back Community trust.

 

6. Given points 4 and 5 a much better thread may be on expected BO2 engine perfromance and discussion as to how 3arc will guarantee;

(is it just me or does every serious player want to gouge their eyes our when they hear this Syrup)

 

that latency management and spawn logic in BO2 will be superior to mw3 and that performance monitoring and sufficient skilled and experienced number of engineers are in place to fine tune/balance the latency experience immendiately from release day (Mon12 Nov 2012 - my guess folks).

 

7. Based on a 12 Nov release date and Community expectations, Vonderhaar and his gang or magnificant Engineers and Professional Community Managers would need to start demonstrating to the Community BO2 will provide better latency management and spawn logic from April-May 2012.

    I have not been a real fan of Treyarch things in the past but there are a few things i would like to see.

     

    1. The IW style gameplay with the Treyarch support

    2. Improved sniping from BO

    3. Improved graphics (BO was a backwards step)

    4. Lag Compensation tuned down to the way it was in WaW and MW2. BO was the start of the bad for me.

    5. Improved maps overall. (small maps that reduce camping like people wanted=spawn issues)

     

     

    Not sure what everyone else things but the gameplay from Treyarch games just seem to be 10x different from the IW games.

      BO2 will be fine, Treyarch doesnt put as much ridiculous garbage in their games as IW does, and the gun damage will be toned down a bit so the game is more about aiming skill than the IW games have been.

       

      BO is still a superior game to MW2/3 in every way, as long as Trey keeps doing what they are doing, then the game will be good.

       

      Traits in Trey games I like are

       

      -Better and decent size maps with just the right amount of choke points and not alot of hiding spots like MW3, MW2 maps were good for the most part as well. But for me WAW/BO had better maps than the last two IW games, COD4 maps were solid.

       

      -You have to earn your kill streaks with your gun/grenades etc, killstreaks dont get you more killstreaks.

       

      -Gun damage in BO was spot on with no stopping power, you actually have to aim and keep it on target, as with MW3, it turned up the weapon damage, making it very easy to get quick kills without having to aim and keep your weapon on target.

       

      -Blackbird, the best killstreak in the game, it requires an 8 killstreak with your gun, its not that easy to get, but it definately keeps the game moving when its up, I really hope this makes a return.  Ghost Pro was one of the best perks in the game, and it requires an 8 killstreak to negate it for 45 seconds, I think its a fair trade off.

       

      -Weapon recoil, MW2/3 weapons are too easy to use, the ACR is just plain silly, sure the Famas was easy to use in BO, but at long range it wasnt that great, the ACR is a recoiless tac driver at all ranges on full auto lol

       

       

        Im not a fanboy, but imo as well as most of the people on my FL, Treyarch makes better well rounded games, and they are less gimicky than IW games, I cant wait until November, this year has been a wash for me as far as COD goes, MW3 has got to be the worst COD ever made, I have played them all, and enjoyed them all, except MW3.

      Yes Red I support your ideas with the addition of point streaks albeit with the following adjustments

       

      Support - remove those that should be in assaul streak like stealth bomber and provide higher points incentive for achieving objectives.

       

      Specialist and Assault are fine.

      Totally agree with that! The connection problems in COD started in BLOPS for me and then got worse in MW3.

      I'm 100% convinced it has something to do with the theatre mode as well.

    I want to be Black Ops 2 to be just like Black Ops but without 2nd Chance and more killstreaks. I loved Black Ops but the only thing that I could gripe about was it did get pretty slow at times.

        I am a fan of Treyarch's after my experience with Black Ops, I still play it and am impressed with how good they've supported it after the release of MW3. As for what I want to see from the next one, I think most of all I want the same pacing. For me it was perfect in Black Ops. I hope they keep with the Vietnam era but focus on lesser known guns and special forces type settings. Also it would be cool to see new weapons like the HK33, the SKS, or the Swedish K.

         The big thing I'll be watching for though is that all the information that was on your in-game player card is still there. Also since I know Elite will work with Black Ops 2 I hope that features like the emblem creator that were free the first time around won't be made into premium features, as a customer that's one thing that would really not sit well with me. But all in all I'm excited for this November.

      I can GUARANTEE that the emblem editor will NOT be in BO2 or any subsequent release. There were too many kids obsessed with penis' infiltrating animal behinds on Black Ops. It would just add to the stuff they would have to monitor.

       

      I would really like to know who actually thought that putting a pickle in the emblems was a good idea anyway.

    Treyarch games are more well rounded and just play better by design than IW/SH/raven games. To me the best overall COD game ever made (all around design) was COD4. That being said, the next generation following that, MW2, W@W, BO, and MW3, the best by a FAR MARGIN was Black Ops. Yes, the game did have a few issues overall, BUT it was far more enjoyable than any other COD title since COD4. Really the ONLY players that enjoy IW games are those that like stuff such as stacking killstreaks (promotes more camping), hackers/modders/glitchers (ALL IW games have a bad rep for this), and players with horrible internet (i.e. the kids using their phone for a wi-fi hotspot).

     

    Overall if Black Ops was to remove second chance out of Hardcore game modes, it would have been near perfect.

    I sure do miss Blops i had a fun i'm having here with MW3 but Blops was more my style i know Blops 2 will be great i hope we go back too the old killstreak style

    At this point, my expectations are so low that all I really want is a game that just works.

     

    When I line up my sights/crosshairs on an opponent & pull the trigger, I want to know I can reliably depend on the game to make my opponent die.

     

    That's all I want from Call of Duty.

     

    Simples.

     

    I don't gripe about "overpowered" guns or "noob" perks or "campers." I don't care what weapons, perks, or tactics opponents use. We're all playing the game to kill each other any & every (legitimate) way we can...

     

    ...Toob me, "panic-knife" me, Type-95 me, FMG9 me, camp me, snipe me, quick-scope me, no-scope me, drop-shot me, Halo-jump me - whatever... When playing a shooter, I expect to get shot. No big deal.

     

    My problem is getting killed by a broken game that doesn't give me a fighting chance to give as good as I get. There's a counter for every enemy tactic, but there's no counter for a defective game.

     

    When I have the tactical/positional advantage, when I have the element of surprise, when I have the initiative by attacking first, I should be rewarded with the kill.

     

    That's all I want from Call of Duty.

     

    Simples.

     

    Instead, this game just ignores the bullets I see & hear spewing forth from the end of my gun barrel & ripping straight through my opponent's body. On my opponent's screen, I'm basically just standing there with my trousers around my ankles...

     

    ...Or I'm running for cover & well out of the line-of-fire on my screen, but on my opponent's screen, my back-side is still hanging out there in the great wide open for him to blast away.

     

    I'm nothing but free points, kills, & streaks for the other team.

     

    Call of Duty has taught me to never pre-order another video game again. They're not getting my money until they prove they deserve it. I'll wait until I read real reviews from real customers - not reviews from biased media outlets who make their advertising dollars off of the very games they're raving about.

    i honestly think Mw3 was the last hope for cod... BO2 will just produce the same results as the last Treyarch game.

     

    I dont see why people always say BO was the best cod 2nd to cod4 BO had the same problems mw3 is having they just didn't have horrible deathstreaks/support killstreaks well 2kills got you a rc-xd.

     

    i will admit IW dropped the ball with mw3, lied to us and introduced things the community and developers wasn't ready for but, they won't ever completely destroy a playstyle just because of youtube.

     

    If IW balanced out the killstreaks/deathstreaks/persk it would be 2nd best to cod4.

     

    Remove deadmans hand and change last stand making it pistols only and make the user bleed out to death.

     

    i dont know why they thought it was a good idea to add a juggernaut/ballistic vest to the game when people hated painkiller.

    also, Blind-eye and Assassin... Blind-eye should block emp's and counter uav's not assassin.

     

    juggernauts aren't that bad,,, laying down with a 50. cal wrecks jugs shizzle

    I'll keep it simple hit detection and lag .Other then that i think black op's was a great game just my opion.Maybe throw some new weapons in.

    No more lag comp what so ever. But i'm sure that is Activisions idea, right? Keep the map size that all other CODs had, just go back to spawns like MW2 which I feel were the best, MW3/Black ops were the worst spawns. And I saw someone write something about stackable killstreaks. I feel if Treyarc dosen't do stackable killstreaks, then I have a great idea i've tweeted to David, no response. If you get a attack helicopter, it'll stack but only 1 point. So even if you get 10 kills with your helicopter, it'll give you 1 point to your pointstreak. That way killstreaks aren't useless, but they aren't OP.

    You all say Treyarc has better MP, but as far as Single player IW dominates.

        I agree with alot that has been Said

         

        The number one issue will allways be the lag comp hit detection and spawns if they dont get this right then nothing else they do will matter

         

        I had the theory that they should do a beta to all the people with founder status on elite, they are obviously the ones who have shown faith in the series, but now everyone seems to be getting founder status. Maybe they can narrow it to the date they became an elite founder i dont know.

         

        Also last stand and second chance need to go, and i dont mean say your going to remove it and then just put in death streaks (Robert Bowling) i mean i dont ever want to see someone crawling around on thier backside after i have smoked them in a gunfight

         

        Weapon baolance will be important although blops seemed to get this close to right last time so i have faith they will not make the same mistakes as last time

         

        I want to see specialist.

         

        I honestly prefer the IW titles, i prefer the modern stuff, its just a preference but i think the other reason i prefer it is the pace, Blops was a little slow for me at times, MW3 can be a bit over the top though so i hope a middle ground can be found here

         

        Some more killstreaks (non stackable)

         

        Im hoping for more customization to the player model to help individualize yourself, just think this would be really cool, i want the enemies to start to see a certain looking player and know its me. also so i can posibly distinguish enemy players as how i engage different players throughout a game is based on past engagements. Basicly if a guy drop shots me twice i learn his gamertag so that next time i run across him i can be prepared, if the players looked different it would be easier to do this

         

        I want dual mag attachment back

         

        I would prefer they introduce the IW titles and emblems through challenges format, but make some more unique ones I enjoy the challenge format and i believe this rewards good players.

         

        Im not worried about trying to stop campers etc, i just want a game that rewards a good player puts emphasis on player skills and pushes you to better yourself. The newer player have to get slaughtered, its like a right of passage we have all been there and getting slaughtered is what motivated me to improve. The people that dont want to improve or put the time and effort in are not the ones you need to cater to. The people you need to cater to are the people who are willing to put in effort (or allready have) as they are the dedicated players who you want in your player base. People who dont want to put in the effort generally just thrash from game to game. Why risk the loss of respect from the dedicated community for the sake of satisfying these spur of the moment gamers or "game wh***s.

         

        Bring back my AUG

         

        I also would like to see the tac insert removed, i know that its useful and serves a purpose in many game types but i genuinly believe the problems it causes outweighs its benefits, also if you get the spawns right it wont be required so much

         

        I would like to see Kill confirmed or an adaptation of it brought to Blops aswell

         

        I liked the double xp weekend and playlist. and the customer support was fantastic

         

        Again i think a beta is required, id like to be a part of it but if i wasnt i would just be happy to know they have done one with some dedicated players (im not likely to get it as i live in New Zealand) but i garantee if our clan was invited a beta we would provide you with genuine feedback and testing as we are all long time cod fans and mature gamers. Regardless do a beta please

    at the risk of being flamed all the complaining about deathstreaks/killstreaks/pers etc.

    basiclly it anything that makes it harder for you to get your kills or in some cases its just because people don't wanna have to pay attention to their map

    and surroundings

    it really is just insane to me i've only been killed by DMH like twice assassin and blind-eye have never bothered me in fact i find it helpful to have opponents with it on assassin's emp resistance only means their hud doesn't mess up

    they cant use killstreaks any of their active killstreaks die

    so whats the problem is it because they don't show on your map when a uav is up which i assume is the main complaint well how is that any different from what everyonbe does when a uav isn't up are you saying you cant play without a uav no didn't think so

    and if the person with assassin fires their weapon unsilenced they still show on the map

    would you rather everyone had blast shield/quickdraw i mean grenade launchers are next to useless anyway how about semtex or frags you wanna see them become useless

    sleight of hand considering all the hate the mp7 gets the things i see would just make the problem worse among a million other things

    IW's mistake was listening to the community

    MW2 was just plain incredible it's my number 3 favorite of all time being behind halo 3 and legend of dragoon

    BO was never fun to me the guns felt weird the killstreaks were insanely powerful i could keep a chopper up as long as i wanted and the lag was no better than mw3 but in BO it didn't bother your graphics like MW3

    regardless ill try BO2 but only after it proves itself to be better than the last
