Ideas for next Guitar Hero 2012

So now that the possibility of a new Guitar Hero this holiday is in the air (the rumor is that we might bew expecting a new GH this Holiday and possibly a "Guitar Hero: A7X (Avenged Sevenfold)" title), I'd like to share some ideas for setlist and DLC songs for the next one. The list is inspired by my own taste (which is everything) and to help them compete with the music variety that their competition holds (Rock Band) Also, imports should be the WHOLE setlist, not just select tracks (Even if You have to up the price a little). Or possibly sell the rest of the tracks as singles and charge only a dollar to those who have registered theri old game to their account. Also, make imports DLC for the original games like 1, 2, and 3. Another thing, if they could add more Rocker customizability that would be great (including play styles, outfits, eye and skin colors, more tattoos and stage performances):

i like you list i'm just going to add Europe's The Final Countdown. I cheated and played Lego RockBand and I love playing that song.

  • 2. Re: Ideas for next Guitar Hero 2012

I was hoping for a new Guitar Hero game this year to release alongside the Wii U but I don't know about it.

  • 3. Re: Ideas for next Guitar Hero 2012

Well, to be fair, I don't think we'll be seeing a GH: A7X any time soon. The band is just way too new. Activision wouldn't likely make a game with a band that only has about 15 mainstream songs. Give 'em time to get another couple albums (if they're gonna make any more at all) and I could see this happening.

Also, I'd say it seems like a better idea to avoid becoming varied. GH is too far behind RB to catch up in that department, so I'd say keeping more to the formula in Warriors of Rock (punk, pop rock, alternative, classic, emo, metal, southern, hard, moar metal) would better service fans of the series. However, variety is never a bad thing, unless it's not well-thought-out variety. World Tour, despite its nearly pathetic engine probably has the best set list in any of the GH games, and it's also one of the most varied.

Also, wasn't "Ocean Avenue" in Band Hero?

Now that's quite the list for possible DLC. Awesome and it should happen. It's better for Activision to go back and revamp the series to make it more like the first 3 Guitar Hero Games(songs, star power, battle, signature moves, etc)

more tenacious D and Dragonforce songs would be cool.

  • 7. Re: Ideas for next Guitar Hero 2012

I actually think that some variety would be good. More Tenacious D, In Flames, Dethklok and S.O.A.D are definately needed. Also, uncensored lyrics would be a nice cherry-on-top, seeing as the Rhythm-Action genre of games don't really appeal to the masses anymore.

  • 8. Re: Ideas for next Guitar Hero 2012

In all honesty I don't think we'll be seeing a new GH game for a while.  I just don't think the appeal for it is fresh at this time.  At least GH as it use to be will probably never be seen again.  Maybe something like what Harmonix is doing with RB Blitz.

Not only that. The setlist has to Appeal too the world not just individuals tastes.
