Hardly. The M16 would take three bullets at close range for a start, which means you're not likely going to get a kill in one burst. Took four at long range. Impossible for a OHK without SP. Also, it doesn't have a scope unless you put the incredibly inacurate ACOG on it.

The ACR took five shots without SP at long range. If you can't snipe them, then you're just bad.

The Galil and AUG etc have way too much recoil to outsnipe a sniper.

Besides, they're AR's. Their intended use it to be 'okay' at all ranges. That's what they are. Snipers aren't supposed to be good at close range.

Snipers aren't good at close range.  They are just okay.  But for the people that know how to use them it may seem like they are amazing close range.  That is what people don't understand.

Yeah, and they shouldn't be okay at close range. They should be bad. Shotguns are impossible to use at long range, why should snipers be okay at close range?

HOnestly, it is the worst thing in CoD for the fact that it was exploited before OMA/DC.  They only reason THEY ALLOW you to do it, ONCE AGAIN...is to keep you buying the games and DLC. They took out OMA/DC.

I don`t see what the problem is here rofl, you can wtfpwn a QS`er at close-medium range easily and at long range if they`re rubbish, so.......

    Edit: With an SMG/AR/Shotgun.

You're an idiot for saying that. Its still WAY easier to use an AR at long range over a Sniper. What can a sniper scope do that an AR iron sight cant do? You're using a sniper rifle and you see an enemy in the distance, you scope in, line up, fire. Not much room for error. If you do all those steps in a fast fluid motion then you're quickscoping and if the target isnt moving you should be granted a kill. With an AR you see a target in the distance, you aim (which takes less time) you burst fire (which gives you plenty of room for error), if your enemy is moving you can move with them while continuing to fire and if you're facing against a sniper the first bullet you connect with will make his shot go way off target due to DVK

The ONLY benefit a sniper has is the OHK advantage, but with slower aim, slower maneuverability, the dissappearance of the HUD during ADS and the sheer precision that comes along with it makes them inferior to ARs in almost every way. Besides like Ive said a billion times, If enemies are closing the gap on you then how do you have any sort of advantage or niche with a sniper rifle? Thats right, you dont!

Because Shotguns CAN avoid long range combat. Sniper rifles CANT avoid close range combat. Its literally impossible due to the fact that PEOPLE MOVE AROUND THE MAP! You can avoid areas, but you cant avoid people! Think dude! THINK!

As far as I'm concerned, camping and snipers go hand in hand. Snipers have a license to pick a spot and stay there for as long as killcams will allow: Camp, Kill, Move is my philosiphy as a sniper.

Snipers are NOT MEANT FOR CLOSE RANGE COMBAT. While I understand that CoD isn't meant to be ENTIRELY realistic, this should give you some insight as to how bogus Quick-Scoping really is:

Short end of it: You have a sidearm for a reason; USE IT. If Overkill isn't enough in addition to a Sniper, then you're doing it wrong.

While this is a good point, the maps in call of duty are generally not big enough for camp snipers to be effective. with the great number of hit markers, massive range of assault rifles (in proportion to map size), and general lack of good cover and sniper spots. camp sniping just doesnt seem like a decent way of earning kills. Plus, there simple arent enough people per team to make camp sniping a very prosperous thing. and back to the range of assault rifles, if therre is a hit marker on any decent player that can figure out where he got hit from, the sniper is more than likely to be shot down or hurt enough where hed have to move and lose his kill. And finally, some one might say "aim for the head" but if you look at the size of the head in CoD, it really isnt that big of a target, plus with the rapid movement of most players, consistant head shots is very impractical and un common in the CoD game

I can't help but laugh at the people who think a sniper rifle should be the end all be all weapon.
