Drink Pepsi, Level-Up in MW3

A new marketing initiative for the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has been revealed today, in which Activision will have signed an agreement with PepsiCo to feature the game on the packaging of Mountain Dew and Doritos in the US. Gamers who purchase the specially branded products will receive bonus XP in-game in return.

The specially branded products will make their way to retailers throughout the US on 10th October 2011, and will feature alphanumeric codes that can be redeemed for the opportunity to earn double XP in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer games over a specified time slot. The higher value products will offer more double XP time, and combining that purchase with Doritos crisps will add yet more time. There is a limitation of 24 hours of double XP play for each gamer.

There is currently no word on the same promotion heading to the UK, though it is likely that a similar branding will be available at some point around launch. Electronic Theatre will keep you updated with all the latest details on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, and other Activision products.
