Call of duty: Does it really come close to the real thing?

Hi Fellow Gamers,

Ive been reading this article on http://www.army-technology.com/features/featurewar-games-military-tech-in-the-vi rtual-world/

and it talks about how Call of Duty is pretty much as close to reality as you can get wihout gettin blown up haha. I know that developers have been using navy seals etc for motion sequences. i was just wondering what everyone's opinion on it was?

I feel like its an action enhanced exaggeration of real life. Everything we do in CoD is possible and does happen in real life but in order to increase the excitement factor of the game there needs to be a boost in action, which sorta throws away some of the realism.

There are other games that are a closer resemblance to real life warfare but they lack excitement and fast paced action, which are two qualities that made the CoD franchise as successful as it is today.
