Why do teamates feed enemies kills?

silentkill440

I cant tell you how many times im one kill or cap away from my last high killstreak and i hear "enemy (insert op kill streak here) inbound." And i look at my teamates and they are negative when i know where the guy is but im not going to run over there and kill him and get shot in the back losing my KS in the process but i just watch my teamtes run over there and keep dieing and keep dieing. I understand the drive to kill someone who killed you but come on. My rule is if someone kills me more than twice, im not going back, i know he cahnged camping spots so you think im going to go get shot in the back again HELL NO. I cant tell you how many times im 20-5 on a 10 kill streak close to my stealth chopper and hear some crap like enemy swarm inboud. I know i sure didnt feed it to him and sure enough look at the scoreboard and 2 3 or 4 teamates are about 5-30 and i just cant believe it then one stands beside me without (insert cold blood perk equivilant here) and 2 seconds later i see a red dot around us or here a Hunter killer drone coming for us and end my kill streak. SO WHY DO THEY FEED THEM?

The way I see it, you've been teamed up with the headless chickens who run around with no concept of strategy, dying over and over and often times blaming "campers". Patience is ancient to them because they want to be able to run around like Raul Menedez in the Time and Fate campaign mission and slaughter everyone. It just doesn't work that way. Raul had a sister that he tried to save, that's why he went apes*** and decimated the PDF standing in his way. You on the other hand, are going against enemies who are not bots on campaign, but actual people with much better capabilities, and you are rushing out there expecting to roll over people.

i dont think you quite understand my question. read it again, and think before replying back with some nonsenese that doesnt have anything to do with my question

What I've said is referring to your teammates. When you die over and over because you don't change up your plan, like you've said about someone going back to an enemy position for revenge and dies repeatedly trying to accomplish it, its like feeding the enemies kills. I know what you are saying in your original post because I've been in that scenario, and I'm sure most of us here have as well.

Either you've been subject to the mercy of matchmaking, came across teammates who blindly rush, the enemy used their stupidity against them, earned streaks and you've been indirectly affected. Or, by the planets' perfect alignment you've come across teammates who are deliberately allowing themselves to die to literally feed kills to the enemy, which can be considered boosting.

I don't think they intentionally decide to feed the enemy, maybe certain areas of the map become "lockdown" thus making it a killing field. Also I find you should be able to avoid their streaks as most maps have substantial cover - that's if you not camping

Stupidity maybe? Some people just dont care and run into flying bullets.

If you have a Mic try helping them, I was on free fall and the other team had to lmgs posted up on either side but left the middle open. I communicated with my team and were able to turn things around. Like all good campers they kept going back to the same spots and we were able to exploit it every time.

because playing with randoms produces randoms results!

Well, it's normal if there are cases wherein your teammates sometimes be glory freaks or frustrated to kill the enemy team that's why they carelessly rush. There's a word called "strategy" and "awareness." There's also one word called "common sense." Players can get those "skills" in time and we cannot really control matchmaking.

I know it may be due to bad luck or you're teamed up to players with lesser experience but as what jasonwojo said, communication can be helpful or as what others told you, it's really how it goes and we can possibly influence the outcome if and only if we're really that good.

Just put this one as an analogy to basketball. No matter how good one player is, there's no "me" in team and if you're playing in a team oriented game mode, bad things will certainly happen if players aren't that synced up to each other or don't know their roles.

If this is a public meta-game, it can be understandable.

You use the word "They" and "Me" a lot. Therein lies your issue.

    • Re: Why do teamates feed enemies kills?

I do my best to be a team player if im near an objective i will take it, i dont just run around capping bases though, that would destroy the spawning and chances are you would end up getting triple capped and lose if the other team was good. Dont get me wrong there are good randoms out there. There have been times when randoms and I have taken down a squad of good clanmates on the other team. Most of the time though if its a very very good clan i cant stop them and my teamtes definetly cant.

Wait, when did they add the Swarm to Ghosts?

    *Edit*

AND the Hunter Killer? HOW LONG HAS IT BEEN SINCE I LAST PLAYED THIS GAME?!?!?!Is there anything else I need to know about? Have they added a group of dogs instead of just one? I liked having more than one better than just one.

    Goes both ways

Who do you think is feeding your 20-5 streak?

Not complaining about that though right?

    Nuff

    • Re: Why do teamates feed enemies kills?

Exactly. Some people really don't think sometimes.

Mindless rushers are a blessing. It should be encouraged. If everyone played a boring cautious style (Like me) then the entire game would be a chore.

I remember a 49-2 TDM I had on Black Ops 2. It was the map where the train comes through randomly. Anyway I think I had my streaks set up as Guardian/Sentry Gun/Stealth Chopper. Also used an MK-48 LMG, Claymores and Trophy Systems were the basis of my setup. Basically I single handedly took over the middle building of the map (The one with 2 windows which you could climb and also a main ladder entrance).

2 Guardians on the ground floor each watching an entrance way. 2 Sentry Guns one in each window facing towards the spawns, with Claymores and Trophys everywhere. Basically I had the place locked down but these mindless rushers would charge out of the spawn and instantly get taken out again and again. My kill feed was just non stop Sentry Gun and Stealth Chopper, with 1 or 2 Guardian kills somehow. They were having an absolute blast trying to get me judging by their reactions on the mics (Not something I would enjoy, but to each their own).

Without mindless guys charging me in that game I would never have had such an insane game.

yeah but im not camping im running around the edges of the map so no one really feeds me i just pick off straglers or bad campers.

I Once had a match where I was the only one on my team positive, it was a painful match and I was stuck defending our only flag the whole game. I got some decent streaks, specialist, and they werent feeding me kills, my other 5 team members were feeding them the ENTIRE game. It was my knowledge of the area and map awareness that led me to lock down the flag by myself against 4 seperate enemies for 3 minutes. I managed to cap C and hold it for a full 50 seconds, without even the cannon fodder even close to me. It honestly felt like they're controllers would break if they left the A flag. The enemy team was very competent, they knew the map well and knew how to swarm the flag from all the different angles, but they weren't aware, that was how I beat them. They won 200-167, i finished this match 40-27, with 8 caps, the 2nd place was 22-21 (not positive enough to consider it positive IMO) and had 2 caps. This stayed that way from the beginning of the game because we spawned at C. Everyone else was at least a dozen kills negative. This match contained a 3 man red clan tag party. I hoped this clan would be on my team for this match. By the end I wish me and the top 2 failures on my team and I switched with the clan, it would have been a more balanced match. More fun too.

You see, here's the beauty about mathematics and why I love it.  Unlike, for example, English Literature, your lecturer cannot waffle and BS you out of a correct answer.

This player might not have performed to a standard that you consider acceptable, but 22-21 is positive.  You may well de-merit him for other stuff, but not for going negative : ) .

I Think I did make a side note of it, if I didn't I sure meant too. He got 3 kills in the beginning and over the course of the next 7 minutes he managed to get more deaths than kills. I only got 3 assists, right in the beginning. He'd literLly just show up, spray and get a single hit for the kill. We also had a guy try to hip fire an LMG, all the time. Without steady aim. He didn't get a single kill there because I actually aimed.

I don't understand why there are no lock on secondary launchers like a Stinger in Ghosts. I liked having the chance to clean up the mess my team mates made.

    • Re: Why do teamates feed enemies kills?
      nicedrewishfela

I find this to be a really bizarre choice as well.

Maybe due to the amount of complaints in BO2 about people's streaks being shot down?

But then... isn't that the point?

      • Re: Why do teamates feed enemies kills?
        Carvalho16

Exactly. The basis for complaints was because people were 'too radical' to run launchers to take down streaks. So they just complained about them instead.

Even a bunch of randoms could take a Stealth Chopper/Escort Drone out in no time if they were organised (Which most people weren't)

        • Re: Why do teamates feed enemies kills?
          nicedrewishfela

Was a big part of the strategy.

You had a limited amount of space in your class, so you had to decide if carrying the launcher was important to you or not. If nobody had one on your team, you could be in for a bad day. Plus, if you were playing against a team that used launchers, you could adjust your setup to use streaks that couldn't be taken down by launchers.

Now the strategy is to A) hide indoors (but most buildings have holes in the roof anyways) or B) run blind eye. That... really... isn't..strategy.

        AverageJo3Gam3r

I agree.  Why not at least make a 1 shot lockon launcher like the SMAW?  Then at least it would take multiple teammates (or dieing to "reload" your launcher) to shoot down a scorestreak.

I've posted many help threads addressing ways to cut down your contribution to feeding kills. I think it's one of the most overlooked aspects of the game because so many are "PTFO" and it's really hard trying to get these guys to slow down and limit their kills. You can still be very active and not contribute to someone's 50+ game.
