Dead Ops Arcade: Comprehensive Strategy Guide   *Levels 1-80

Cutter408
GT: Von Stanowsky

Hey everyone, if you’re looking for some help with Dead Ops Arcade, you've come to the right place. The following strategy guide will help you through some of the more challenging levels and hopefully help clear up some confusion you may have about the game.

If you’re stuck on a particular level, please feel free to post and I'll try to give you some advice specific to your problems. This guide is a long read, but if you’re interested in beating the cosmic gorilla, it’s going to take around 1 1/2 to 2 hours, so patience is required for both.

Zombie Arcade Walk-through (Round 1-40)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --

Weapons

Death Machine: Zombie lawnmower. This gun will rip through lines of zombies in nothing flat. Be careful where you point it though, the bullets are powerful and will push your teammates around, possibly getting them killed

Shotgun: Oh' Lawdy dotty look who's got the shotty!!! Go to town with this gun, it just rules

Ray Gun: Powerful weapon against the zombies; the trade off is accuracy and visibility. Whenever a ray gun bullet fails to hit a zombie, it will bounce off of a wall several times. Since the ray gun is automatic, it doesn't take long to fill up the screen with little green bullets. Another downside to missing with the ray gun is that some of the bullets can strike your teammate and impede their movement, causing them to be killed by zombies or be pushed into an electric pole. Try firing in a straight line with the right joystick, and moving side to side with the left joystick. When zombie dogs are introduced, you need to be careful picking this weapon up because the dogs are very shifty and hard to hit.

China Lake: It'll get the job done; just make sure you don't blind your teammates or yourself with it. The fire rate is slow, so try backing up just a bit between shots. This will take care of any zombies that might have gotten through the volley. Be careful of crawlers and dogs. Crawlers can slip past the china lake even if you’re backing up, and dogs can run fast enough to get through. The diminished visibility means dogs can get through unseen as well.

Rocket Launcher: This is a big no-no except under very specific conditions. The rocket launcher is hard to accurately kill zombies with. If you happen to hit your teammate with a shot, you will launch them to the other side of the map and will almost certainly get them killed. As with the ray gun, try moving side to side while shooting this weapon.

Flamethrower: Zombies hit with the flamethrower will walk slowly, and if you’re staying at one door it’s not a horrible weapon. However, it kills kind of slow, and in later stages it just doesn't cut it. The main problem with the flamethrower is visibility. If you’re spraying it everywhere, the flamethrower will blind you and all of your teammates. So don't spin around in circles, thinking you’re going to kill every zombie and save the day... you’re no hero, your just being an ass
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --

Power-ups

Extra Life: This extra life is actually 1 life/player. If you’re playing with 4 people, its one life a man (4 Lives)... Kind of important. Don’t ever let one of these go to waste. This is the one power-up worth dying for. If 1 guy dies getting it, he still gains 3 lives for the team.

Turrets: An automated turret drops down to help fight off zombies

Monkey Bombs: These will draw zombies in the immediate area to it. Try standing next to one of these; when you’re just about to be killed, pick it up and watch your attackers break off towards the monkey. Zombie Dogs are not attracted to the monkey bomb.

Birds: These guys will fly above you and fire a line of bullets wherever you’re firing. They last for a limited time, and when they disappear they will fire one last time in a circular pattern. The bird will fire whatever type of ammunition you’re carrying at the time, so it can be a devastating partner. Try taking a step forward or back if you’re having trouble concentrating your fire, this will line the bird up directly over your shoulder and he will shoot almost the same spot as you.

Speed boots: If speed is your thing, go for it. Careful not to get too anxious when you get the boots, you might run into a trap.

Teddy Bear: This will create a glowing blue force-field around your player. This is NOT impenetrable. Raining zombies/crawlers/running zombies may be temporarily stunned by it; your run of the mill small zombie will be repelled by it. This force field will send the small zombies running back to their point of origin. (Whatever door that particular zombie came out of is the door he will return to. If you interrupt that path of a zombie returning to his door, he will attack you

***Because of the chaos that can occur when zombies strike the force field, this power-up is not a good idea to pick up. You and your teammates develop a groove over time and this power-up will instantly disrupt that groove***

Barrels: Very straight forward power-up. Hit them with the barrels, and they will die. Time it wrong and a zombie can get through

Wunderwaffle Beads: Just like the World at War wunderwaffle, these beads will kill multiple zombies at once. If one zombie is struck by a bead, 5-10 zombies next to him will die as well. 4 beads per power-up and it gets harder to hit them the fewer beads there are

Tank: Invulnerable to damage, this tank will only last for a limited time so go to town while you can. Zombies will be more attracted to this tank than your teammate so try to use that to your advantage. Note: it will be difficult for your teammates to see if you’re just flailing about, so try to keep it under control and have your team in mind. Running into your teammates with the tank may stop them from escaping. Running full speed into a teammate who is against a wall mall result in their death.

Helicopter: Jackpot. Its lean, it mean, it absolutely annihilates any zombie on the map. This baby can turn on a dime. If you happen to have a bird on your shoulder, the bird will fire ray guns with you. Same with the tank; try to have your team in mind when you’re using this thing. Zombies can't kill you so help others out at this point. Try parking the helicopter on one door (with zombies), and firing it at another door with zombies. This will provide your team with a much needed break.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --

Room Of Fate

- If you have not already heard, the room of fate is 100% predictable. The room of fate has four arrows that appear in sequence. It does not matter which door you go to! What does matter is the order the arrows appear in.

Arrow 1: Fortune
Arrow 2: Firepower
Arrow 3: Friendship
Arrow 4: Furious Feet

- This sequence is always true. Unfortunately there is a catch. If you own an HDTV, you will usually only see 2 arrows appear; sometimes a third might show up but you won’t see all four. If you own an old CRT television or if you set your Xbox to 480i you can see all four arrows. If you don’t want to sacrifice 1080P resolution, try standing near the center of the map and don’t move. Pay close attention to the timing of the arrows you do see. With practice, you will be able to make an educated guess which arrows (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th,) have appeared on screen. Or you could have someone on your team bite the bullet and go for the lower resolution, the choice is yours.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------Fates-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---

Fortune and Fortitude - If a player dies, they will come back with a minimum x2 multiplier
--------------------------------- Any power-up on the map lasts longer (except monkey bombs and turrets)

* Because of the helicopter glitch, the green character should get this perk. After round 40, the forty seconds of invulnerability is a welcome break for you and your teammates
**Though considered the weakest by many, this perk may be the best for later stages where a helicopter/tank may last most of the round and allow you to save your bombs/lightning. Teams should always save helicopters/bombs/barrels for you. They will last the longest with you and you could really use the break, cause without it, fortune can really suck.

Firepower - Permanent Death Machine

* The death machine is the most powerful gun to have; it also comes with the most responsibility. You must be able to stagger your fire if teammates cross in front of you. If you cannot adapt, you WILL end up stopping them from backing up, shooting them into zombies, or shooting them into traps. You will also be responsible for helping kill the dogs. The death machine can level a dog in just a few bullets, the little pea-shooters your teammates have will have them backing up halfway across the map.

Friendship - Permanent Bird
----------------- Any bird picked up off the map lasts longer

* Be careful where your bird is shooting, you now have twice the firepower and could easily stop your teammate from retreating, or shooting them into zombies or a trap

Furious Feet - Permanent speed upgrade
-------------------- If players run out of lightning, they will start with 3 at the start of the next round

* Your main responsibility is to corral the zombies. What this means is you need to sprint in and out of zombie lines in order to cut them in half. If there are 50 zombies coming out of one door towards your teammate, run up after the 25th has come out of the door and the last 25 will follow you. This is critical later on because zombie rounds will last for 8-10 minutes and you will need to save all the bombs/lightning’s you can.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --

General Rules

1. Never use your bombs or lightning unless you have to

2. Take care with the rocket launcher and flame thrower. Rockets shoot your teammates into hoards of zombies and flamethrowers make it impossible for anyone to see

3. Treasure= Multiplier ---- Multiplier=Pts ---- Pts= Extra Lives
Extra life every 200,000 pts

4. NEVER leave the end of the round till all treasure has been collected!!!

5. If your team has gone far because of one teammate, it’s because they are supplying extra lives. If your start dying every round, give them all the treasure on the map. Their treasure= extra lives= You can steal more lives

6. Gems are worth more than gold or silver. A large gem is worth a full multiplier. Since it takes more treasure to go from x3 to x4 than x2 to x3, the person with the highest multiplier should get the large gems in most cases (unless everyone is just out to get theirs)

7. You can kill the ape in round 40 only. The glowing red circle around him indicates he is invincible, much like the glowing circle around a player when they are invincible. Before round 40, you can't kill him, so don't let anyone try to convince you otherwise

8. With the exception of an extra life, NO power-up is worth dying for... you were doing fine before you went for it, now you’re dead (counterproductive)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --

Pro Tips

1.  Always let the green character pick up the helicopters. For some reason, when the green character is in the helicopter, it functions just like a monkey bomb and all the zombies will be drawn to it. Be careful of dogs since just like the monkey bomb the dogs will not be drawn to it.

2. If you don’t have fortune and fortitude, let the player with friendship get the tanks. The bird will fire a china lake while the player is in control of the tank and do a little more damage than a player without a bird.

3. Your bombs and lightning are the key to getting past round 80. If you don’t have at least 3-4 bombs a person you will have almost no chance of beating the 2 cosmic guerillas.

4. When you gain enough experience, you will know what levels you can gain lives on and what levels you will lose lives. In order to keep a healthy supply of bombs, you need to understand when you should use a bomb to survive, and when you should just let yourself die. If you know you’re going to gain lives on the next round, let yourself die if you’re low on bombs.

5.  It is possible to give a teammate your extra life. Try standing next to a teammate when you’re about to earn an extra life. When the life floats down to your head, walk towards your teammate, pressing up against them, and have them do the same. This is difficult to accomplish when there is a lot going on, but with enough practice can be mastered.

6. You can give an extra life to a teammate using the helicopter. Have the player trying to take the extra life get in the helicopter. The player who is about to earn the extra life should stand directly under the helicopter. When the life is earned, it will fall onto the helicopter and that player will get the life. This technique can be employed on prison break using the same principles. (Bombs/lightning can also be transferred in the same way)

7. Since no tanks or helicopters spawn on the beach, it is possible to nearly max out bombs/lightning’s for 2 players on stage 1. Have 1 player down themselves until they start taking extra lives, thus giving you bombs/lightnings. The player who downs themselves will have to wait 1 minute before trying it again or the respawn timer will kick in. Obviously you will need to be good enough to not die at all until you can gain your extra lifes back.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --

Glitches

- Though there are some glitches that can be used to your advantage, I don’t use them or condone using them, therefore I will not be posting about them.

- Tank/helicopter glitch: NEVER go through the teleporter if someone is in a tank or helicopter. 3 out of 5 times the game will glitch out. When the next stage begins, one of the players may find that they are trapped under the map. If that character moves around, they will die (sometimes the game just keeps killing them till they are out of lives and starts taking lives from your teammates). Other times the overhead view of the map will be VERY high above them map and stop you from seeing anything (thus killing you off and ruining the game)

- Extra life glitch: This one confused me for a while. (This will only occur after you have given extra lives to your teammates and if they are low on lives) Once you earn an extra life, you will see the flash of light indicating you have given an extra life to a teammate, even if they are still running around. Bombs/lighting/tanks/helicopters will drop on your head as well. This might be by design in order to keep you alive longer.

Now to the glitch; even though you have sent an extra life to a teammate, their life indicator will not increase. Even though the indicator does not change, they have been given the extra life.

* Example:  Player A has 0 lives. Player B gives A an extra life while he is still alive. Player A’s life indicator still reads 0. Player A dies, however he/she does not need to wait for the respawn timer or take an extra life from Player B
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --

Stage 1: The Beach (Lvl1-4)

- Never under any circumstances should you have to use your right or left triggers here. Beginners may be drawn to the weapon power-ups, but seasoned vets know that the treasure is the real goal here

- Avoid standing at the very top of the screen, it moves the screen view up to high and may result in a teammates death.

Stage 2: The Courtyard (Lvl 5-8)

- Overall area has decreased so you'll be in tighter quarters here.

- Avoid standing right in front of doorways.

- Zombie traps are introduced... You might hate them now, but there your best friend later on.

- Get used to the idea of standing behind/backing up and around these traps. Later on it will critical to be able to lure zombies into the traps without touching them yourselves.

Stage 3: Prison Break (Lvl 9-12)

- Although stairs are a zombie staple on other maps, this is not the case here. Players who go upstairs have 2 ways out, and those get choked with zombies quicker than you expect.

- Ground level should suffice as long as you’re quick on your feet

Stage 4: Creepy Crawlers (Lvl 13-16)

- Hands down everyone's favorite round...right. Best tip is to stop focusing on power-ups and flee for your life. Zombie crawlers can only be killed when they jump up to attack you, so if you've already hit a few laps around the map and are wondering why he hasn't died yet it's because he has not yet jumped

- Try and look down directly at your character, it will help your focus

- AVOID: Doorway and corners!!! Zombies can come out of a doorway and IMMEDIATELY kill you. Corners may be your only option but you’re guaranteed to need to use your Triggers here

- The room of fate will appear after one of these rounds

Stage 5: Cows (Lvl 17-20)

- These short 4 rounds may be the most important if you expect to go far... Often times even pro's get killed by the crawler rounds and their multipliers have suffered.

- Fear not because the designers have your saving grace; Cows. That's right, cows. Specifically a glowing cow... If you’re lucky enough to see one of these cows, and you’re also lucky enough to have an explosive weapon (China Lake, Rocket Launcher, Tank, or Helicopter) shoot one of these cows. Then you will realize why they are called cash cows, as tons and tons of valuable gems spill out of them.

*NOTE: If you want this treasure to mean something, kill all the zombie before you collect it; there is way too much clutter on the screen at this point and going for the treasure right away often results in death

- Teamwork is essential on this map, remind your teammates about the cow each round, and only pick up explosive weapons if you see the cow or if the weapon is about to disappear. If you pick up the rocket or the china lake and, if you can manage, try not to shoot the weapon till you need to because it will deplete your ammunition quickly

Stage 6: Downpour (Lvl 21-24)

- Round one starts off on a 2-tier level, where players may stay in the courtyard or choose to go upstairs, either way you’re in for a fight. Try and stand behind zombie traps to lure one column of zombies in while you shoot the other column. Stay in groups of 2 or stay separated because zombies will pour in on this map, and mistakes are common in large groups.

- Round two has a surprise waiting; Zombie rain!! Zombies will fall periodically from the sky, often blocking your planned route of escape. Try not to panic, and target the falling zombies first. They will walk slowly at first, but after a few seconds they will RUN straight at you.

- One of the four corners of the map has a green light above it. Stand in this corner and the zombies will not drop directly on your head. This makes this level a breeze, just don’t get tempted by any treasure or power-ups or your likely to get trapped and die.

Stage 7: Fish in a Barrel (Lvl 25-28)

- Hope you saved a few lighting for this round because you’re going to need it. Screen placement and player movement are critical here. Right off the bat, explosive barrels will start pouring in from random spots on the screen. Although it is very rare for these barrels to kill you directly, they often indirectly kill you by stopping you from moving away from zombies. These barrels do serve a purpose other than your early grave. If you can time it right, shoot the barrels as zombies pass and they will explode, killing those zombies in range of the explosion.

- If you’re playing with more than 2 people, try separating to keep the zombies spread out. Furious feet are very effective on this map. Run the zombies up and down the screen while trying to keep them out of the middle of the map. This will give your teammates much more time to deal with their doors.

Stage 8: Abominable Martyr (Lvl 29-32)

- Stage one starts off fairly simple, nothing new except your surroundings. Avoid going between the two gas containers or behind the wall at the top/bottom of the map; zombies will often block your route of escape if you head down that path

- If you find this map overwhelming, you can camp behind the wall in the corner. Have everyone side by side and wiggle their joysticks back and forth. This will keep the zombies pushed back and for the most part from reaching you. I don’t like this strategy because someone usually ends up dying, however it can limit the amount of deaths to just a few rather all out slaughter.

- Stage two is a different matter. They let out a horrific scream before you see them... All of a sudden, huge (EXPLOSIVE) zombies are heading your way. Usually you'll have 2 or 3 to kill at a time. Don't hit them with the barrels or the wunderwaffle beads, they will explode right there and kill you. Use these zombies to your advantage and kill them first so they take their smaller zombie brothers with them.

Stage 9: Dog Rounds (Lvl 33-36)

- Round one has normal zombies; save your bombs, run like hell

- Round two... DOGS!!! My most hated enemy. They are quick, they are sneaky, and they just plain suck.

- Lighting may get you out of trouble from one dog, but it will often throw you in the corner with another. Bombs are the best weapon here. Very few zombies spawn on this round. Try standing behind a trap if you can.

- There are 2 different strategies to use on this round. This first is to have your entire team stand in the corner with the most electric poles. Have the death machine watch one direction and the other players watch the other directions.

- The second strategy has become my preferred method. Split each player up into separate corners. Each dog is assigned to one particular player. Using this strategy, it will be clear which dogs is going after which character and will help you adapt your fire in time. Watch the dogs closely and use teamwork to take them all down

- Don’t be tempted by power-ups or treasure, the dogs are just too quick. Helicopters, tanks, or extra lives can be worth it, but it is a risk.

- Round three: You might have noticed the pattern by now, Rnd1 normal, Rnd2 new zombie, and Rnd3 normal + new zombie mixed in. Until now this was fairly straightforward. At this point however, the game has changed entirely. The dogs will spawn every round now, though fewer in number, they are arguably more dangerous now. Things may seem like their going fine, when all of a sudden a dog leaps out ahead of a pack of zombies and bites your face off. Focus you attention to the zombie spawns because you need the heads up if a dog is coming

Stage 10: Jungle (Lvl 37-40)

- The game is very much the same as the stage before, but the map is much smaller. You need to be able to manipulate the zombie lines as a team if you hope to survive. The maps can be as small as the courtyard from Stage 2, so there is very little room to work with. Zombie traps and your triggers are all that will save you.

Cosmic Silverback

- Its monkey time! After you finish off the zombies in round 4, the screen will notify you of a boss round. That annoying, irritating ape stealing your treasure the whole game has come for you blood, and it’s finally time to send him crying home to mommy.

-The boss will race towards you in speed burst. Zombies spawn the entire time so you have that to worry about as well.

- During the fight, several tanks and helicopters may spawn; If that happens, lead the boss to a zombie trap and sit on it for as long as possible, he will get severely damaged by the traps. This seems to be the quickest and easiest route to his demise.

- RPG’s deal the most damage of any of the weapons in DOA. The problem is you don’t really know when you’re hitting the gorilla. You need to spray back and forth to ensure that some of the rockets are hitting him.

- If you or your teammate dies, stand right next to the gorilla while the circle around your character is flashing green. This circle will do massive damage to him and the zombies around him. When the circle starts flashing yellow, it is time to get some distance from the gorilla.

- When the gorilla is nearing death, the signs are very obvious. All at once zombies will start coming in waves of different types. The waves come in order: engineers, explosive zombies, dog. These waves can be devastating so it’s probably a good time to use a bomb to clear the screen out.

- When the gorilla is near death, try keeping him in the center of the screen so you can minimize the amount of gems that fly off of the map.

* After you have stepped on the portal and the cut scene appears, DO NOT move around! It is possible to fire and move around while the cut scene is going on and it is entirely possible to walk into a zombie trap and lose all your hard earned gems. It’s happened to me more than once because I wasn’t paying attention.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --

That's it!!! After 40 rounds of hell, you've finally killed the monkey. An animation follows showing your conquest over the ape, followed very shortly by his brother smacking you onto another island. Just when you thought it was over, your right back on the beach you started on, except this time there are tons and tons of zombies.

    Zombie Arcade Walk-through (Round 41-80)
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --

    Basics

    1. Bombs and lightning’s must be saved at all cost if you want to beat round 80

    2. Extra lives will spawn much more often now. Generally they will spawn twice per stage; though sometimes they will spawn more than twice or even more than 1 life per round. Always be on the lookout!!!

    3. Each round is 8-12 minutes long. You might want to take a break after a few rounds. If you start dying all the time, it’s probably a good idea to walk away for 10 minutes or so and get some refreshments.

    4. The player with host will not have this issue, but for the others there is a major issue they will have to adapt to. After a certain stage, usually around the 50’s-60’s, the light on top of the electric poles will stop functioning. All of the electric poles will appear gray at some point and you will have no idea if they are on or not. It becomes very easy to walk into these poles.

*The best advice I can give you is this. If you are walking into the pole, assume that it is on. If you are hiding behind the pole away from zombies, assume that it is off and the zombies will get through. The player with host can tell players which posts are on, but at some point it becomes too difficult for them to keep track of where you are and what poles are on. It sucks, but you’re going have to learn to adapt to the situation.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --

Stage 11: The Beach (Lvl 41-44)

    - If you are using fortune and fortitude for one of you perks you will have to adjust quickly. While you are on the beach no helicopters or tanks will spawn.

    - Furious feet should run up and down the screen to give teammates more time.

    - Standing near the boat will give you some cover while the player with furious feet runs the zombies around the map

    * Be careful when the boat is at the top of the screen; it makes it very difficult for the player with furious feet to run around if you stand at the top of the screen. Zombies and dogs can be lurking just off screen and catch the furious feet player off guard

Stage 12: The Courtyard (Lvl 45-48)

    - Helicopters and tanks return, along with lots of electric poles

    - Zombie traps might start disappearing partially at this point for some players, be on the lookout

    - Steer clear of the doorways and attempt to stay in the middle for as long as you can.

    - Round three is especially difficult because of the haze over the map. Be on the lookout for crawlers or engineers hiding in the mist or on the grass

    - Round four is very difficult. Zombies hiding in the grass are nearly impossible to see until the lightning flashes. Look where you are going before you get there or you will likely run right into an engineer

Stage 13: Prison Break (Lvl 49-52)

    - If you’re playing with 2 players, stay downstairs and try to keep the zombies to the edges of the map. Be careful running under the catwalks, you will need to scout ahead to make sure the way is clear because you will lose sight of you player at some point

    - If you are playing with 3 or more players, it is time to use the stairs to your advantage. Have the player with furious feet stay downstairs by themselves. The player with the death machine should stand at the top of the stairs guarding the downstairs entrance to the prison. The other players should be standing on the same side, guarding the upstairs entrance to the prison.

    - While standing upstairs, it may be necessary to retreat to the center of the catwalk. Make sure you give your teammate a heads up and try to stay to one side of the catwalk. This will help clear the line of fire for your teammate and will minimize the chance that they might shoot you in the back and keep you from retreating.

-Dogs are particularly annoying upstairs. It is very common for a dog to avoid all damage and run right past you to your teammate. If this happens, you must warn you teammate immediately. Communication is key on this map

*Pro tip: This level is the easiest stage to give extra lives to another player. The player downstairs simply stands directly under another player. When the extra life falls down, it will be given to the upstairs player
** This map is fairly easy once you master this technique and should be a stage where you gain lives**

Stage 14: Creepy Crawlers (Lvl 53-56)

    - This is the most difficult stage this time around…again. Keep to the middle as much as you can

    - It is quite common for pro’s to hit this level with 9 lives apiece and leave with only 1 or 2, so don’t get discouraged.

    - The amount of zombie traps on this stage can be overwhelming, or underwhelming. Adapting your running tactics is the key to survival. Furious feet will have very little room to work with and may need to stop running around everywhere and stick with the team

    - NEVER pick up the teddy bear and try you best not to pick up the ray gun. The teddy bear WILL kill a teammate eventually. The ray gun will bounce off a wall and likely get your teammate killed

    * Avoid firing the helicopter on stage 4 if you also have a bird. The combination of the ray gun, helicopter, and lightning flashing can freeze your Xbox

    Stage 15: Cows (Lvl 57-60)

    - The first round has no cows at all. This should seem like a breeze compared to what you just came from

    - Rounds two. three, and four have cows and are far more chaotic. It really comes down to how many electric poles there are. If there are many, you will have very little room to walk around and will have to make a lot of little adjustments. If there are few poles, this round can be as easy as the first time around, just 2-3 times as long

    Stage 16: Downpour (Lvl 61-64)

    - There are 2 schools of thought for this stage; the first is having everyone stand upstairs together. The other is to have furious feet downstairs and everyone else upstairs. I prefer to run downstairs, but it does take quite a bit of skill to do so

    - For those upstairs; have the death machine cover the stairs along with the weakest gun. If you have fortune and fortitude and bird for example, have the fortune and fortitude player cover the stairs with the death machine. The 3rd/4th player should stand near the stairs and cover the other 2 doors.

    - If you have a lot of electric poles upstairs, you’re in luck. Have the 3rd/4th player stand to the side of the other players at the stairs. Take all the zombies that are not coming up the stairs and make them chase YOU. Very important!!! When the zombies chase you, walk behind the electric poles and zap them dead. You will have to repeat this process over and over again so it’s going to take some practice. If the zombies don’t chase you, they will lock onto your teammates at the stairs and they might not react in time. It is common to need to use bombs at this point.

    - If there are very few electric poles, the 3rd/4th player will need to move up away from the stairs and function much like the player with furious feet; keep moving the zombies side to side and keep them away from your teammates for as long as possible.

    - This stage can be a nightmare if there are few electric poles, so it might take a few times to complete it.

Stage 17: Fish in a Barrel (Lvl 65-68)

    - This stage is not much harder than the first time around. There are lots of electric poles to help keep the zombies at bay.

    - Try your best to keep the zombies out of the center of the map. Once zombies get to the middle, it is likely you will be overrun and have to use a bomb.

Stage 18: Abominable Martyrs (Lvl 69-72)

    - Don’t try camping this time around; there are just too many zombies and you will get overrun

    - Again, avoid going between the gas drums. There are so many zombies on this map that you are almost guaranteed to get trapped in between them. Even if you scout again, it seems like the game knows what you’re doing and drops an engineer right in your path

    - There is no challenge round this time around, so you won’t have to deal with the explosive zombies again until you get to the gorilla

Stage 19: Dog rounds (Lvl 73-76)

    - Often just as difficult as the crawler rounds. Avoid the corners and hug the inside of the map as much as possible

    - Dogs are very tricky on this stage. One of the entrance doors is covered by trees and it is easy for a dog to sneak on the screen unseen.

    Stage 20: Jungle (Lvl 77-80)

    - Much more difficult than the first time around

    - Try to stay near the center as much as possible. Be very careful when moving around the middle though. There is a small notch you can get caught up on. You must also be careful to avoid the massive collection of electric poles in this same location

    - If you get pushed to a corner, get out of there as fast as possible. At this point you have learned for yourself how fast the zombies come out of multiple doorways and you should realize that you will get trapped almost immediately and have to use a lightning/bomb

    Cosmic Silverbacks

    - This is where everything can go downhill in a hurry. Instead of 1 gorilla, there are 2. After about 10-15 seconds the second gorilla will appear. The gorillas will use their speed burst effectively and often. The gorillas jump up in the air much more often than the first time around. It will be easy to lose sight of where they are and it’s very common to have one drop right onto your head. The zombies come out in the same fashion as before

    - The best advice I can give is focus all of your fire on 1 gorilla. Keep track of which one you are shooting and finish him off as fast as possible.

    - Use your bombs effectively. Only shoot at the gorillas and use your bombs to get rid of the zombies on screen. Communicate with your teammate to make sure you at not dropping bombs at the same time.

    - Both gorillas will drop gems. After you kill the first gorilla, don’t focus on the gems at all because you’re probably going to die a few times before you kill the second gorilla.

    - Pray for lots of tanks/helicopters. Pick up WHATEVER weapons you can find. Any weapon you pick up will do more damage than your peashooter gun. There is so much chaos going on during this fight that friendly fire goes out the window. The flamethrower should be used with caution and always pointed at the gorilla

Thanks! It is a totally different type of game than the other zombies, however die-hard arcade fans should love this game.

Fantastic guide! You are one of the few people on this forum who actually know what they're talking about. Thank you!

P.S. I hope they make a Dead Ops Arcade 2 some time in the future. IMO, Dead Ops Arcade will never be as good as regular Zombies, but it was still a really cool idea. Please, Treyarch, don't let Dead Ops Arcade die!

Thanks! I really hope they have a DOA 2 as well. This game came as a total surprise to me... I clicked the map thinking it was going to be another zombie map, only to find my new favorite arcade game. I have not played multi-player, or any other game for that matter, in over a month. DOA rules!!!

I like dead ops, but whats prevents me from playing it more is that teammates can steal your lives. They have counter this by giving you power ups, but it isnt worth it.

You have to find the right person to play with. One of the reasons we got to 74 was my brother. He is not that great at the game, but he is good enough to not die more than twice a round for the most part. This enabled us to earn extra lives faster than he could use them; had he not died multiple times, we would never have had enough bombs/lightning to stay alive with our high multipliers

The monkey glitched on round 8 one time. He sat in the same place forever. I shot him for 10 minutes,,, I highly doubt you killed him. When you actually do fight the monkey (round 40), it takes around 30 seconds-1 minute of continuous damage from an electric pole to kill him, so it seems extremely unlikely he died simply by touching 1 pole for 1 second.

Yeah its long overdue... I have gotten to round 95 since I posted this guide... then I helped a friend to round 80 and my leaderboard reset

    Seriously,

Anyways, I will be working on the elite guide today and expanding/changing quite a few things on the 1-40 guide. I'll try to get it done by tonight at which point I'll bump the post back to the top.

    ROOM OF FATE DOORS
    The Room of Fate

Between rounds 13 and 16, the player will enter The Room of Fate which will grant one of four different permanent Fates - or power ups - to the player for the rest of the game. Regardless of how many players are in the game, each player will receive one Fate each. The Fates are as follows:

The Fate of Fortitude - Grants the player the ability to use power ups, vehicles, and weapons for twice the duration. The player's multiplier will also reset to x2 upon death rather than x1. It is always the first arrow that appears in the room of fate.
The Fate of Firepower - Grants a permanent Death Machine as the player's default weapon. Picking up another Death Machine will not affect the player's gun. Picking up other weapons will swap the player's gun to the weapon picked up, and after the weapon expires, the gun will then revert back to the Death Machine. It is always the second arrow that appears in the room of fate.
The Fate of Friendship - Gives the player a chicken to be used permanently. This Fate also doubles the duration of any further chickens picked up similar to The Fate of Fortitude. It is always the third arrow that appears in the room of fate.
The Fate of Furious Feet - Grants permanent Boots to the player, permanently increasing their speed. This will also increase the number of Lightning Bolts to three every round (provided that the player had less than three at the end of the last round). Picking up further Boots will not affect the player's running speed. It is always the fourth arrow that appears in the room of fate.

And what ? There is 2 silverbacks at 80 at the same time...wtf.. what about 120 do u think there could possibly be 4?
Wow i still think maybe theres an ending to Dead ops arcade,
At first i didnt care much at all for dead ops arcade up until about 3 months ago i love all the zombie content but DOA has got my attention lately
as it is more challenging in some aspects
Just curious What is your highest round ? And how many kills did u end up with at the end of it all?

My highest round was round 95 with "Dry Ice Burns" and "FRTH". To my knowledge we were the first on any gaming system to beat round 80. Unfortunately my leaderboard reset to round 80 when I was helping a friend.  FML

I believe that this may be a glitch inherent to the leaderboard system. Round 40 or 80 or any of the monkey rounds is recognized as 2 different rounds on the leaderboards. We got to round 80 at least 10 times before we beat it; At one point my leaderboard said we survived for 13 min... we had died before we fought the gorilla's. The next time we played we survived against the gorillas for all of 30 seconds. My leaderboard changed at this point. My rank and time went down, even though I had made it further...

When I helped my friend out, we died just before fighting the gorillas, or just after we started, i can't remember right now. Anyways, I think because it was round 80 in particular is why my leaderboard reset. So my word of advice is this; If you do get past 80 one day, DO NOT die on round 80! Turn your Xbox off if you don't think your gonna beat it, because I feel confident your leaderboard will reset too.

To answer your second question, I think I had in the neighborhood of 23000 kills. Dry Ice Burns posted a video on youtube called "Beating Round 80 on Dead Ops Arcade" by scratchgolfer223.

lol.... just looked over the other video's, we beat 80 only 9 days before the other guys... Wish I made it to 99 first but that was a fun race past 80

What is your highest round? Maybe we could play sometime

I can give you some tips in game, but unfortunately we won't get very far because of your location. If you really are from the UK, the chances of having anything other than a 2 bar connection are very low. If you are from the UK, I'm sure you've experienced the lag yourself and know how unplayable it can get.

Out of curiosity, what is your highest round? If its not past 40, we can give it a shot, but I don't think we could improve much more than that with the connection

    Hit me up regardless
