1. In the XMB go to Game.
2. Select Game Data Utility.
3. Find and delete the data file for the game.

This seemed to fix my disk err0r problem
From the ps3 menu,
2. Select Internet Browser.
3. After the Internet Browser appears press the Triangle button.
4. Select Tools on the Options menu.
5. Select Delete Cookies and Delete Cache
6. delete game data utility for MW3 (witch is the update)
7. reinstall update and it should work.
Hi, I have the same problem with the disc read errors as well as server connection errors, constant lag during gameplay dispite my 50mbps download and 5mbps upload speeds, host migration, and also my ps3 freezing during gameplay.
My ps3 doesn't get really hot, and I also thought of placing the ps3 on it's side and it's been that way for a month now. I've turned on both sides as well as angling while it's on it's bottom to where one side is off the table and everything has still not helped. I've also tried restoring my ps3 all the way to it's manufacturer's state which took 7 hours, restored data utility, erased everything and still nothing has fixed the issue. The disc is basicaly brand new since the only place that it has went since purchasing it on it's release date is straight to my ps3, only removed it once and it went straight to it's case so that I could clean my ps3, which also didn't help.
Not to mention that this issue isn't only occuring on ps3, xbox 360 users are encountering the same problem so now sony, activision and any affiliated producers of this game can not diagnose the problem as being with the system or any updates. Reason being that the network which feeds the updates and the harddrive, processors and many other components of each system aren't exactly the same. So if anyone has any feedback, please notify me. I am completely at a loss for solutions, thank you to everyone.
