What did IW and Sledgehammer do right?

xegxtremechaos1cl

Your chance to sound off on what exactly it is you like, will like, or can already see being an issue with the upcoming game MW3...

i will list a few of my issues i can see happening already..

Concerns:

- Tac Insertion (oh boy, here come the FFA boosters)

- Killstreak systems..   while i like the changes made, i can see once again that because of the numerous amounts of killstreaks available there will be so damn much camping once again..  high killstreaks, promotes camping..  and i hate campers.. cant wait to find the balance there, i know there will be one..

- Killstreaks not being reset on death..  really.. i may have misunderstood this one...  the assualt package streaks..

- Death streaks..   really?  did we not learn that deathstreaks are a pain in the ass, juggernaut, painkiller, more ammo for your launchers?

Likes:

- No last stand, final stand using noobs...

- No game ending killstreak

- New game modes like  confirm kill mode, or whatever its called..

thats just a few of my views.... lets here what you have to say...

  • Re: What did IW and Sledgehammer do right?

Assault package resets on death. Support doesn't.

Deathstreaks are not a big deal as there is no Painkiller. Hollow Points might be an annoyance.

Final Stand is in the game, btw.

    matuzz

    Cons:

    No recoil.

    Cheap kills everywhere.

    Snipers, are Fubar.

    Good:

They tried to make killstreaks better but I think they should reward only from objective points.

    a few likes:

    Shotgun primaries

Objectives and destroying enemy killstreaks count towards your own pointstreak

    beautiful maps

mass nerf of explosives with plenty of counters added

the perk list (especially the splitting up of Ghost)

The amazing audio and gun sounds

    more recoil (so people say)

    No commando/OMA/danger close

team-oriented support streaks (EMP, SAM turret, etc)

    gun leveling

    some of my many dislikes:

    DEATHSTREAKS

    assault killstreaks still stack

killstreaks are even more powerful than MW2 (ex. Reaper - 9 KS with 14 predator missiles, Strafe Run - 9 KS gives 5 attack helicopters

No limit on how many aircraft killstreaks can run at once

    the horrible Ballistic Vests killstreak

    akimbo machine pistol secondaries

    heartbeat sensors and motion sensors

    Quickscoping easier than ever....

    proficiency that removes sniper sway

    Osprey Gunner

Specialist Strike package 8 Killstreak gives you 15 perks until you die

Tac Insert still allowed in FFA

80 ranks to prestige (just stupid to prestige now...)

...i could go on but i'll stop there.

Until I actually play the game I can't tell what IW & Sledgehammer did right.

But we all know already what they've done wrong: DEATHSTREAKS !!!!

Why should crap players be rewarded for playing like crap???

    • What did IW and Sledgehammer do right?

I have no idea what they did or didn't do right because I haven't played it yet. However, I'll play along w/ the running theme here.

      CONCERNS:

      -tactical insertion

-2 primaries having noobtubes w/ Overkill

      -shotgun secondaries w/ Overkill

      -the return of splitscreening

-the return of quickscoping (not because they kill me, because they're on my team and generally post scores like 4-28)

      -deathstreaks

      -increased melee proficiency for SMGs

-the Blind Eye, Assassin, Dead Silence perk combo

      -Scavenger resupplying tubes & claymores

      LIKES:

      -Support Strike Package

      -Kill Confirmed

      -maps look good

      -it's not made by Treyarch

Where did u get the information that the reaper drone has 14 pred missiles it has five and it is a high killstreak in the assault package that resets after you die. If someone gets nine kills in a row by all means they deserve a reaper drone.

    Like:

1.) everything about the game it's awesome better graphics/ updated engine, weapons look and sound amazing, levels are detailed a heck of alot better than BLOPS, I know his game is goin to be a beast.

I should say that no one really knows what the game is going to be like nor how the perks, killstreaks, bullet damage, explosive damage, physics, maps or how anything will be till it comes out so chillax and wait for it to come out before you start complaining.

Look at the bottom right-hand corner, you can see the missile counter.  14 missiles.

and a 9 killstreak is very easy to obtain because killstreaks still chain.  Set 5-7-9 and you get it with 5 kills.  Predator missile leads to attack heli, attack heli gets 2 kills while u camp and leads to the reaper.  With Hardline you can get the Reaper with 4 kills.

    My only dislikes are ;

Hollow Points & Final Stand deathstreaks,

    And some perk arrangements.

Other than that mw3 is shaping up pretty well!

Where did you hear destroying enemy pointstreak rewards counts towards your own pointstreak rewards???

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e5Z80aSuv0k&feature=colike

    0:25 - pointstreak counter

  • What did IW and Sledgehammer do right?

Far too soon to tell..but I think the new killstreak system is much better, the maps look cool, and I am looking forward to all the new gun improvments system stuff.

Its so typical of the uber-gamer-blogger type to respond to a question about what is right with lists of thing you think is wrong.

Perhaps if instead of endless complianing, you promoted the positive things, devolopers would be more inclined to expand/enhance the good things...or of course you could always create your own game.

With that said, ill add creating MW3 as being the biggest thing they did right.

Thanks to all the coders etc. My £75 is on its way!

  • What did IW and Sledgehammer do right?

    Pros:

    Weapon Leveling/Proficiencies

    Gold Guns without Prestiging

    Removal of OMA/Commando/Last Stand

Killstreaks can now be set to classes

    Nerfed Deathstreaks

Spec Ops now has survival mode

    New gamemodes

    Larger lobby sizes

    Shotguns returning as primaries

    Extreme perk rearrangement and reboot

    Cons:

    Tubes are still returning god-freaking-****it

    Free-fire launchers such as RPGs

A bomber in support package? Really? At least Osprey drops care packages >.>

Notice how the Pro list is much longer? Deathstreaks are fine since it's easy to kill someone in Final Stand, each deathstreak now requires 4 deaths, the funner ones like Suicide Bombers take 6 deaths (i.e. total noob, not like we're gonna get repeatedly spawnkilled by CGs anymore, right?)

They listened to the community for the most part.

    Likes:

    - A COD game that finally rewards objective play via pointstreaks

    - Levelling up your weapons

    - No game-ending nuke

    - No OMA/Danger Close

    - No Commando

    - Maps shown so far seem pretty balanced for all kinds of playstyles

    - New team-based game modes

    - Shotguns are primaries

    Dislikes

    - Deathstreaks - would have preferred combat training for newbies

    - Point streaks are stackable

    - Quickdraw works on Snipers

    - There are a few pointstreaks that I don't think fit in the game

    - Advanced UAV does not show Assassin players

    - Leaderboards don't show caps/defends in-game

  • What did IW and Sledgehammer do right?

Hmmm not sure because it has not released yet.
