Black Ops 2- Campaign story,

matuzz

Here I will tell explain you what Black Ops 2 campaign story involves.

Its all based on Operation Charybdis, it was a joint Special Activities Division and MI-6 operation designed to eliminate Jason Hudson, Grigori Weaver, and Alex Mason, to be taken place in 1978, 10 years after the events of Call of Duty: Black Ops.

The primary goal was to terminate Mason, whom the S.A.D. deemed to be mentally unstable and became a threat to national security; Hudson and Weaver were included as targets for termination due to their backing of Mason, thereby making them a threat to national security as well.

Although it is known that CIA analyst Ryan Jackson will join the task force as adviser (due to his extensive knowledge of the targets, given he handled the reports and analysis of personnel and events concerning the trio) along with a young Special Air Service operator named Jonathan, nothing is known about the outcome of the mission or the fate of its participants because, as of 30 October 1978, the operation was still in the preparation phase, with Ryan Jackson's temporary field operative status only having been approved days before.

Woods being alive,

In terminal there is this message:

July 4, 1978

Mr. Mason --
Woods is alive and remains the sole remaining American guest at the
Hanoi Hilton.

Thought you should know.

-- X --

So Woods didn't die and most likely Mason is trying to find him.

Reznov being alive,

There is hidden message in Black Ops called Maverick code that says:

"Reznov is dead, or is he dead, there was no body, not what he says he is"

There is also messages in Terminal that are supposed to be from Reznov under the code name John Trent:

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
TO: Hudson, Jason
FROM: Trent, John
SUBJECT: Everything you know is wrong

You don't know me, but I know Alex Mason. You will learn to trust me.
Everything changes on Friday.

SUBJECT: Now you understand

It was by the hand of Nikita Dragovich. This is just the beginning.
They are everywhere.

Start at Vorkuta. Two escaped the breakout. You know one of them.
The other one just died.

This will be my last letter for quite some time. When the time comes, you
will know what to do.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

SUBJECT: You have done well

Please tell Mason one last thing. This time it's freedom for both of us.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

What suggest John Trent being Reznov is this part of his mails:

"Please tell Mason one last thing. This time it's freedom for both of us."

It is reference to the mission where Reznov and Mason escape from the prison where Reznov tells that its only freedom for Mason not him.

So there is a lot of interesting things Black Ops 2 will tell us

That's all pretty insane. Good work. Some of it might be reaching, but I at least agree some part of Operation Charybdis will be in the game. Should be awesome - a second Campaign mission by Treyarch where the SAS is the ENEMY!!! Loved the WWII one in Black Ops.

Overall I think it's really awesome that they've made this sub-series that began with the final days of World War II and explored its after-effects. I hope we get to see more highlights from the Cold War such as the Munich Olympic Games incident, The Pan Am bombing, The Iran Contra Scandal, and the Soviet-Afghanistan war.

    November can't come soon enough.

      Nooooooooo

      no more SAS enemies PLEASE

I likes SAS ppl. Wt wit bein BRITANNIAN

      Or more exactly Welsh.

Overall I don't like the way they portrayed the Russians and Brits in Black Ops - it was like a hard-on American Propaganda example.

Glad to see that I'm not mad in pointing out Charybdis to people on XBL who cannot be arsed to read the intel.

On the other hand, I wouldn't mind British and American enemies if it was portrayed in a sympathetic way towards them, like I hear what is happening in SO: TL.

  • Re: Black Ops 2- Campaign story,

looks alot like MW2 and MW3's story without the Russian Invasion going on, well writen however

  • Re: Black Ops 2- Campaign story,
    matuzz

    Fixed some spelling.

Also I think its fascinating to know if Steiner succeeded in brainwashing Mason to kill JFK.

John Trent aka Reznov is talking in his messages about the Friday JFK was assassinated.

We know that in the end of the campaign Mason was at the audience looking JFK.

Also in a lot of the messages involving Mason it seems Mason has just become crazy because he doesn't know what to believe and talks only about Reznov.

Black Ops 2 campaign will be very exiting!
