Is support noob?

xFANCY_KIWIx

I don't think so. I love support because i can play the objective like cap flags and plant bomb and give my team UAVs or whatever. Everyone says "oh it takes no skill and its noob friendly." I disagree with this statment. Do you really think a new player is going to work their way up to 14 kills for a stealth bomber or 18 for a EMP or jug? No. And since most new player play TDM then they won't get anything.

spend enough time reading these forums and you'll no doubt discover that pretty much everything in this game is noob...

support is for less skilled player, watch when b.ops 2 comes out and there is no support, support players are going to be in a world of hurt.

I hate when a guy goes 1-30 and uses his stinger as a primary and gets rewarded with an auav, stealth and emp.

How is what you describe here not the very meaning of Support?

And why shouldnt someone be rewarded for keeping the other teams air support down?

I personally love when someone takes down the other teams aircraft right away, who cares if thats what they enjoy doing, well other then you obviously.

I don't mind the player going 1-30 taking down air support for my team.

Honestly, they're doing more good if they aren't the best of slayers but can still support their team with taking down UAV's, Air Support etc.

The only thing I don't like about support is the Stealth Bomber, Juggernaut Recon & EMP (should be shortened to 30 seconds) as games don't that long.

I run all my classes as Spealists but if its in the game and you like to use it go for it.

I am one who doesnt care what setup someone uses or how they play, its your game you enjoy it how you see fit and I will do the same.

Dont let other people try to convince you to play their style.

Remember the only reason people cry is because they get killed. You wont hear people cry about the person going 4-10 in TDM (unless they are on your team dragging you down with them).

  • Re: Is support noob?

Support is the best package in the game. There is too much risk and not enough reward for assault. But if you use support with a few specs then its GG.

  • Re: Is support noob?

I enjoy the support package with Hardline and only UAV and Counter UAV. This gets me almost constant UAV support, and I don't need assassin because I just use Counter UAV if the other team gets one, and then with a silenced MP7 your a mobile killing machine always flanking the enemy team, you cant pull of similar with assault, it is not noob just different.

The only thing noob about support is how they decide to put in a stealth ******* bomber into it.  I dont mind support users at all, emps dont straight up kill you.  But that one thing just ruins it.  They deliberately put that **** into the package to give the noob users killing power they should not have with the package.

  • Re: Is support noob?

It doesn't belong in TDM or FFA.

  • Re: Is support noob?

I really don't understand the stealth bomber being in support, but I'm alright with it. What I don't understand is how effective EMPs are for how easy they are to get. If a full team runs stealth bombers and EMPs, they can completely neutralize the opposite team's pointstreaks while being able to use their own to get extra kills, all with little to no effort.

I'd say make EMP last 30-45 seconds and push it up to a 20 pointstreak.

Then either move up stealth bomber to 16 or something around there, or just put it in assault package at a 9 pointstreak while moving the reaper up to 10.

I wouldn't say support is noob, I just think that it needs a lot more thought put into it. That or some common sense.

  • Re: Is support noob?

TBH support makes me a lot more objective player. If I run assault I'd usually care a lot less and only do the objective when it is very safe. AUAV - stealth bomber - escort airdrop is a very good setup in FFA btw.

I think that it is a great idea done by IW to encourage people to play objectives instead of always going for those killstreaks and staying as far away from danger as possible. Is it perfectly balanced, no.

make uav/balistic/recon drone/stealth bomber all take 1 more kill to earn and disable support in S&D and all is good.

    • Re: Is support noob?

It certainly closes the gap between the good and bad players, I hate it, but me and my pals use it every game, 4 advanced UAVs 4 Steath Bombers 4 EMPs a game is a joke, but hey ho, it is what it is and makes me win more.

It is also bad in FFA when all you have to do is run blindly and stack up kills for Stealth Bombers and any other effective reward.

All noobs use or should use Support. Not all Support users are noobs.

No, its not noob but yes it is easy to abuse even in TDM it can easily get am emp and not even need to have 18 kills of my own to do so. And with the fact that it does not reset each life, you can die several times and still keep builing towards that emp very easily.

Run hardline pro where every two assists count as a point and getting an emp can be done with only having 10kills of your own or even less.

Shoot down air support, there is quick easy point, kill sams there is a point, kill there is a point, get an 2 assists there isa  point. In this example I just earned 4 points but only had to make one kill.

Back when I used to use the support classes(mainly to get all my emblems in the first two prestiges) I used to be able to get 2-3 Escort Airdrops/EMPs/Juggs a game, from a mix of capping/planting, taking down aircraft, destroying sentries and getting kills(the main route I used to get my KS). Do I think that there's a bunch of BS in the Support killstreaks? Yes, like a useless Advanced UAV(ooh yay I can see your direction), it should have been the same as BlOps' Blackbird, also the fact you can get alot of the stuff from the assualt class in the Escort Airdrop is kind of ridiculous. I personally think that some of the items from the Support class should have been set at a higher kill/point streak, UAV, EMP, and Jugg namely. Also I think that some of Assualt's killstreaks should have been at a lesser point range, Jugg and Osprey, it's rare when I see someone get them.

    A thought:

There should have been some sort of penalty.  Like: Every time you die, you lose 1 point streak.  So if you are that player who kills 1, then dies over and over you get nothing.  But if you kill 5 and die, you go back to 4 and start from there.

If the EMP (as an example) was moved say from 15 to 20, you really have no solved anything (because they would still be there and people would eventually say: they should move it from 20 to 25).

With some sort of penalty, it would still be very useful as you would not drop to zero (like the assault pack), but it would encourage the really bad players to try and get better while still giving them a reward while they are trying.

IMO, I like the supportive point streak players, who use UAV, Sam Turrets, and Recon Drones (My favorite).  The game is right to reward players for destroying air support, because you're helping the team.

I however, don't agree with the Stealth Bomber and Remote Sentry Turret.  The whole idea of Support, is to offer "assistance", not direct killing power.

But then again, I would like a reward system that gives Assault AND Support type rewards, based on your type of play--Objective or Slayer.  Us objective players are the reason why you win, so we should get the bigger slice of the killstreak cake.  To this day, K/D ratio seems to be the most important aspect of gaming--even ELITE agrees...
