So what do you hope to see changed/improved in Advanced Warfare?

like2nap03

I'm just assuming we are getting it for the sake of this topic.  What would you like to see?  A list of things you would like to have changed or something new they might do.  Here's mine.

1.  Remove quickscoping.  Or at least give us the nerfs the other consoles got for this game and leave it there.  COD is much better without it and it just needs to stay away.

2.  (edited) Fix Wii Remote Sniping.  I don't think it should be much different than just aiming with any other scope.  The game adds sway.  Plus natural hands way.  We don't need this wonky double pendulum effect that we have going on with Ghosts.  Just make snipers, or any scope for that matter, aim the same as an acog, variable zoom (the one on ARs), or any other zoomed in scope.  The controls should not be different.  Leave off aim assist on the snipers though.  In doing this will leave the sway the game has, include natural hand sway, and remove AA meaning people are sniping with pure skill and nothing else.

3.  Remove aim assist from any one shot kill weapon.  Or one burst kill weapon.  FOR ALL CONTROLLERS.  Meaning is should be removed on XBONE as well.

4.  Fix the spawns.

5.  Fix the matchmaking.  Lowest ping should take priority over lowest number of hops. A region search function would be nice.

6.  IEDs are stupid.  I don't think sitrep or blast shield should be required to run freely around the map.  They nerfed them to where you can survive them on the other consoles and whatever explosive camping equipment they come up with should be survivable as well.

7.  No killstreaks like the dog.  Every killstreak should have a counter.  The dog does not and is, well, just annoying.  And that 15ft lunge it has.  It's just ridiculous.

8.  Support streaks should not be lethal.  Looking at you support squad mate.

9.  Don't change the wii remote controls much.  They are great now.  If you can tweak something here and there to make them better then fine, but don't fix it if it ain't broke.

10.  Keep the large open maps.  Takes far more skill to navigate these maps and survive.  I like that.

11.  Reduce the "baseline" delay as it's called even further.  Combine that with some matchmaking tweaks and you got some good hit detection.

12.  Good hit detection.

13.  I think they got weapon balance figured out.  Ghosts is great in that department.  Keep it that way.

14.  If possible, all the sound options that Blops 2 had.  If not, then the ability to turn off ALL music should be available at launch.

15.  Being able to mute/unmute all, or all except party, IN THE LOBBY.  Not just once the match starts.

That's all I got for now.  So what would y'all like to see?

the sway for da should stay as is though, it changes depending on the attachment. what about weapons like the usr where depending on attachment one shot kills can be easy or tough? how would they deal with that? i think the aa on da regardless of weapon is just fine as is. asking for it to be nerfed even more is just a bit much. same as you feel they hit controls spot-on with wiimote, thats how i feel about the analogs this title. besides that you guys forget aa works less the higher sensitivity you run, well, i should say its much easier to get off target. the aa is minimal now like i wanted last title, if anything wiimoters should beg it stays the same instead of being cranked back up to blops2 levels...

give me search settings and improve matchmaking, that is all i care about. bars to show ping would be wonderful as well.

    p.s. the dog is fine

I've longed felt that one shot kill weapons shouldn't have aim assist.  Period.  Snipers should snipe and how well a player does while sniping should be solely dependent on how skilled the are and not have computer assisted aim factored in.  I didn't really expect EVERYONE to agree with that, but it's how I feel.  I wouldn't complain if they left DA exactly how it is now.

      p.s.  the dog is OP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay nap, so I'm gonna respond to your points and then add my own onto the list. For some of your points, I will propose my own solutions.

    1. I agree that it is annoying. I agree that realistically it shouldn't be there. And I agree that it would overall be better without it. However, I'm not sure that's possible simply because of how the game is set up and works. MAYBE the only way would be to eliminate the hip-fire box circle (It's a circle. It's really a circle!...) from Sniper Rifles, but even then it would still be possible. It should just be made as difficult as possible.

    2. Yes. But no. So much no. As in that no, it should NOT be the same as Red Dot or ACOG sights. Or EOTech. You forgot that one. Why? I'm sure you can picture it in your head. I'm sure you can picture the free-roaming scope vs. the one fixed in the center of the screen. I'm sure you can see how the free-roam has very much an advantage, which we don't want. We want equality or as close to it as possible (or at least as a community we should). I wanna let you know, that proposition makes me think of Wiimoters in BO2 swinging their Target Finders across the screen. Not truly a good comparison since the thing covered more of the screen to begin with, but it has a similar unfair concept that I'm getting at, and pissed me off a lot as well. Now, my proposed fixes:

         a. When scoped in, the scope centers and the Nunchuck joystick is used to move the scope around, similar to the DA control. However, I don't like this idea because then how will you guys move around, since that is your movement stick? :/

         b. Increased motion sensitivity for scope movement. (Scope is also centered). This would just plain need some good testing. What I'm picturing is no delay between moving the Wiimote/pointer around, but also not having it move too fast, because then it would be very hard to control.

         c. When scoping in, the center of the scope should end up exactly where the pointer was (point on the TV screen) before the scope-in, and then stay there (center stays at the same point on the TV screen) until scoped out. I'm not sure I'm totally describing it clear enough, but this is my favorite option, as well as it seems like it could be a happy medium to what you were describing and what actually currently exists. Also, while it does still exist, this would in theory create quickscoping equality, or very close to it. I have talked with some Wiimoters in-game that said the only problem they personally had with quickscoping was that they couldn't viably do it. This would bridge that gap, and if done right with point b., could make sniping equal across the board.

    3. Eh, again I agree with the concept, but realistically it should be removed from Sniper Rifles (and MAYBE Marksman Rifles or their equivalent, if they are continued) or everything altogether (even better!).

    4. Duhh. Well, not fix. Make them awesome and keep them awesome. Please and thank you.

    5. Agreed. But also probably should have a bandwidth requirement or whatever's needed so that the host doesn't get too overloaded and not be able to handle it. Their game crash means everyone's match ends in some horrible death. ;p ...or maybe this was a given to begin with... MOVING ON!

    6. I have mixed feelings. I really do. Yes, I hate IED's, but at the same time, the right balance is needed so that if the equivalent is equipped it's not just a waste of a slot.

    7. You and that dog again, eh? I don't mind something like it existing. It just needs to be done better. My guess is they used the same coding for killing as the dogs in previous games, which was a high streak. Thus no one cared or noticed (in that way) when they were killed because 1. It's a swarm of them and 2. The player earned the high streak. Also, everyone was notified when they were called in. With that combination, no one really cared HOW the dog killed them, because for the most part they expected to die anyway. When there's just one running around at a time (theoretically), we don't know when it's called in [most of the time], and it's not THAT hard to get, we all get to see and examine it more, and find all its flaws. Coupled with lag, it was just a bad stew.

    8. Eh, I don't totally agree with that one either. They could make it not lethal and still good, but if it is it won't be the biggest deal in the world to me. The biggest problem with the squaddie was his un-human-like reaction times. Like the dog, lag makes it a helluva lot harder to deal with.

    9. Agreed.

    10. Agreed, to a point. I like them. I'm also all for a good quality mix. Flank routes on flank routes - Hell yeah! Let's do it! However, my biggest thing is that regardless of the map's type or size, make it viable to use almost every inch of what you've created for us to play on. No one want to play on the playground Siege. No one.

    11. I'm blanking on what that actually is...but I think it's good...so I'll agree.

    12. Duhhh.

    13. Yes to the unlucky number!

    --

    14. Bring back Team Defender. A friend of mine made a great point that this mode was the first (and so far only) mode that let you use the WHOLE MAP at any time. Hell, you could throw in a second flag if you really wanted to. Then somebody might play on the playground...

    15. Give everyone credit for capping a flag.

    16. More hindrance to Wiimoters when concussed. OR leave them (Concussions) as weak as in Ghosts, where it never really mattered to begin with. In BO2, however, when a Wiimoter is concussed they can still move their pointer freely across the screen, which isn't exactly fair. Hey, maybe THAT'S where you can implement the weird sniper aiming mechanics for them!

    17. More incentive to prestige, OR remove it altogether. Instead, just have unlimited levels that require increased XP every time. Maybe just have a new icon every so often. That way everyone can show their progress without having to change what they like to do.

    18. Allow us to make 1 class for every primary, and have access to them at all times. Unless there's a storage issue, that shouldn't be too hard. Only thing it would add otherwise would be an extra click/menu screen. Pause menu. Choose a Class. Click on Primary type (Combat Knife, Assault Rifle, Submachine Gun, etc.). Click on Primary you want (Which has its own class assigned to it). Boom, you're rollin'.

    19. 5-Flag Domination. More action. Less...well...total domination. As less of all the flags being capped. Which is sometimes a problem. Okay, it's a problem a lot. Especially if you're playing with people. Total domination is an automatic recipe for ragequitting, and if trying to be avoided (and/or extend the game) people are asked to hold back, which shouldn't have to be the case. 5 flags would mean it's virtually impossible to cap all 5 at once, and if done, it wouldn't last very long. Unless the other team is really and truly not capping any flags, or they're all gone cuz they did ragequit. If they're not capping, they shouldn't be playing Dom.

    20. More/bigger penalties for ragequitting. Ideas:

         a. Remove the Quit/Leave Game option, meaning someone has to accept an invite or pull the plug. I used to think this was a great option, but now I think most people would just do the latter anyway.

         b. Don't just take away the Match Bonus, give an XP penalty to the ragequitter, in addition to negating all XP gained during the match they ragequit (However, I feel challenges/achievements should be kept with the XP gained forfeited). Allow it to be that one could be demoted a level(s) because of it. My thought is not that it should be a set amount of XP, but that it should be a set percentage of the XP needed to complete whatever level a player is on. This would go great with my unlimited levels idea.

NOTE: By demoted, I mean like say you just gained level 25 in a match, and you only had a little XP over that. The next match, you rage, and with the penalty it takes you back down to level 24 by the XP you forfeited. As in, not the whole level back down, but just by the "carried over" XP penalty (that you also brought on yourself). In other words, even if it was like a bad lobby as you (Nap) described, it wouldn't be that much ground to redo, and would only become a detriment to yourself if you were ragequitting multiple matches in a row. Which, at that point, would probably be all on you (the player). Hope that clears it up better!

    21. Keep the ricochet in Hardcore Modes.

    22. Keep the Neutralizing Domination Flags, as well as no time limit.

    23. Kill Confirmed should be at least 75 tags required, if not 100.

    24. There should be a penalty implemented for not capturing tags in Kill Confirmed (or maybe a certain percentage of them). Maybe give no XP for a kill, and more for gathering tags?

    25. Ground War for our version.

Will probably edit this or repost it with more ideas. Cuz I like brainstorming and providing ideas. It's be cool to actually work with this stuff... Also, since I will be editing and maybe reposting, please quote what you may be responding to.

      Reply to number 2.

Acog, Variable zoom, or any other zoomed in site is what I should have said. The extra zoom gives plenty of extra sensitivity.  The lack of aim assist will prevent it from being OP and also automatically prevent quickscoping.  Combine that with weapon sway, and natural hand sway (which DA doesn't have), and you've got plenty of balance.  If someone kills you with that setup, then they did so with their natural ability to aim and earned it.   They can't just swing and spray like people did with target finder LMGs.

...I haven't read everything else yet.

Take your time with the rest, my friend. IF THEY DO IT RIGHT then it won't be swing'n spray. I still pictureguys who'llsit in corners or the back of the map, with their settings so they can basically put the reticle anywhere on their TV.  And at least some people will get really good at it and/or use it all the time. I've already talked about Wiimote quickscopers. This just feels like playing with fire. The whole thing. I don't know anymore...

That deal where they move all over the screen does work out when they are camping like that, but at the same time, if they lock the screen they can only shoot at what's on their screen and they can't turn.  They also would have no aim assist in this situation and aiming all the way over to the right or left of the screen while doing that is quite awkward.  I mean they are trying to shoot you while pointing to the left.  You are just as likely to be killed by a DA user camping.  It's not a big deal. The wiimote user would be far easier to flank in that situation.  You're good. And smart.  Just go get 'em!

If they are doing it NOW with an LMG then aim assist would help them greatly if they constantly go in and out of ADS.  BUT those settings are TERRIBLE for rushing and they are just as easy to flank because they are staring down their sites and can't turn the screen.  Take them out and they won't win the gunfight on the way back to the camping spot.   Not much you can do though if you have bad teammates that constantly just sprint at the campers.  I try to flank them, take them out, and then not let them get back to their camping spot.  I mean they can't rush with those settings.  That's why they camp.

Today on Whiteout was a good example.  The ENTIRE enemy team was camping in the back of the map. I had to die 5 times to figure out where they all were.  So I was 0-5, but I ended the match 35-5.  Once I found them I flanked them and then rushed them as they tried to run back there.  Then I got the helo pilot.  Game over man!  GAME OVER!

I'm not picking on you.  Just trying to clear up some misconceptions that you at least appear to have.

      16.  That's wrong.  We can't move freely when concussed.  We are facing in one direction, pointer movement is severely hindered, and we can't even really tell where we are pointing because it's all blurred and kinda like we're seeing triple.  We have no advantage in that situation regardless of what you see us doing on your screen or what the killcam shows.  Got concussed today and I died because I couldn't do jack.  I don't know where that rumor came from but it's very false.

    • Re: So what do you hope to see changed/improved in Advanced Warfare?

Reply to your list.  I can't comment on all of it.  I don't play Dom enough to have an opinion about it for example.

I'm torn on ragequitting.  There is a penalty now but it's not enough, but if I get a very laggy lobby I don't want to be demoted for leaving it.  That's a little harsh.  Forcing people to pull the plug sounds bad.  That can't be good to have the system shut off like that all the time for those that rage often.  Not sure how to handle that one.  Maybe a loss of all the XP that was earned in said match?  Like say they earned 200 XP.  Take 200 away from what they had before the match started if they rage.

      LOVE number 18.  Excellent idea.

      21 through 25

      17.  I like how they handle prestige now.  I hated having to start over.  I like being able to start over, but use the points I have earned to buy everything back.  I don't really want to change that much.  I earned the points to buy the equipment and I like that.  Maybe they could add cool gun camos to go along with the backgrounds you earn.  Or even some emblems to go along with the medals.  Ghosts is probably going to be the first game where I get prestige master because it's the first where prestige doesn't annoy me.  I think I have 8 prestiges now.

      16.  Still calling BS on that.  I'll boot up BLOPS 2 soon to test it.

heres some issues i dont want to see in advance warfare:quickscoping, knife lunging, glitches that should not be there at all/enforce banning people who uses the glitches for their own gain, all weapons balanced,no riot shields either they out stayed their welcome and fix the matchmaking it takes a few mins to get a lobby and at least bo2 you get a match right away.

I want to see more than 4 months of support from the devs.

I don't want tiny maps like nuke town or free fall.

How about access to more classes. Black Ops 2 I could have access to 10 classes, I kind of miss that.

Please no emblem editor, that was a bad experiment. It was a nice to be able create our own emblems, but the 13 year old boys couldn't handle it, and now it goes unmoderated.

  • Re: So what do you hope to see changed/improved in Advanced Warfare?

as far as huge changes, like removing aa on osk weapons, that would have to be cross-platform. wiiu gets really nothing more, nothing less. for that reason i dont see aa going anywhere anytime soon. if you guys are hoping the devs read this for ideas you should probably try and keep it to suggestions they can actually implement. i haven't noticed any difference with the way tacticals effect wiimoters. da gets so stunned you cant move, but i cant tell you how many times ive been killed both titles by "stunned" wiimoters who can move freely with perfect aim.
