What happened to Heavy Duty?

MitchLOL

I've only noticed until today that the Heavy duty game mode has been removed, was their a reason for this? because it was kinda fun not to die from OP weapons every 5-10 seconds....

it was never meant to be permanent, and hardly anyone bothered with it

No-one played it.  It was removed around the same time Gun Game was added, a mode which was prooven to be far more popular.

Really? Well that sucks... but then again Gun Game is a good gamemode,  I can actually shoot people in the face with enjoyment (Domination im talking to you )

Thanks for answering admunday and everyone else who did as well.

What? Heavy Duty made those 'OP' high damage per bullet weapons (Mainly Assault Rifles and the M27) even stronger in comparison to others in the game.

The Remington R5 is a force in core, but in Heavy Duty it is absolutely ridiculous. With a Muzzle Break it is a 3 hit kill up to just under 40 metres despite the 125 health; which helped it decimates most guns.

The CBJ at the time; shooting at a pretty insignificant distance of around 16-17 metres was an EIGHT hit kill. Anyone who thinks there is nothing wrong with that balance wise should be in an asylum.

No Heavy Duty didn't help prevent 'OP' guns. All it did was make the weaker guns even more useless and the high damage per bullet guns reigned supreme as they were already doing.

It just never caught on and it has been gone for awhile.

It was removed from the playlist because whining people spent more time complaining at the forums of how quickly they die and how they wanted to bring the health up rather than play the game they asked for and which was given to them.

It was removed for lack of players. Too busy complaining on the forums.

Heavy Duty was added to prove a point. People will complain no matter what the health or weapon damage scenario is. People didnt want longer TTKs, they wanted to kill people just as fast but be harder to kill.

TTK is Ghosts is no different than past titles. The average range is slightly higher, only a few points on most weapons, but every gun follows similar damage and TTK stats.

You pretty much answered you own question. You didn't even notice it was missing until recently, which means you didn't play it. Just like everyone else.
