If you’re tempted by tech, you'll want to know about this: Microsoft’s Larry Hryb – a.k.a. Xbox Live’s Major Nelson – has revealed the Xbox 360 Limited Edition Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Console. The console features a distressed silver finish and two matching wireless controllers, a big 320GB hard drive, custom Avatar items, a month’s worth of Xbox Live, and a copy of Modern Warfare 3 (of course!). The MW3 commitment goes beyond mere cosmetics; this limited Xbox 360 features custom sound effects for core functions like power and disc eject. It comes out on November 8 for $399.99, or you can pick up just the controller for $59.99.

Major Nelson has a great photo gallery full of images of the console and controller -- and if you look closely that those photos, you will see that this is the latest controller design, feature the ridged analog thumbsticks and the rotating d-pad, so you can change its feel based on your personal play style. If you like what you see, you can preorder.

Also, Microsoft revealed a special MW3 wireless headset which doubles as a Bluetooth audio device – use the same communicator with your Xbox 360 and your mobile phone. It comes with its own charging station and “an Xbox LIVE token for an exclusive download” – which remains an intriguing secret for now. That’ll be $69.99 when it arrives.
