20140822_235955.jpgIt was a packed day of action at UMG Dallas 2014, as competition continued on towards the $20,000 prize pool. Here are some of the major headlines to come out of Day 2:

Underdogs Dominate Round 2 of Champs Bracket

They may have seemed like a nice throwaway story for Day 1, but Most Wanted, Noble.Vanquish, and Denial proved on Day 2 that they are legitimate contenders in this tournament. With respective 3-1 wins against OpTic Nation, Team Kaliber, and OpTic Gaming, these three teams are now a match away from the Winners Bracket final.

Top Teams Fall to the Losers Bracket

It's not uncommon to see one or two top teams fall early into the Losers Bracket, but all four of the top seeded teams? OpTic Nation, Team Kaliber, OpTic Gaming, and FaZe were all on the wrong end of the surprising Round 2 results, meaning they'll need to string some victories together in order to reenter the championship picture.

All Eyes On EnVyUs

In a tournament defined by upsets, EnVyUs has yet to encounter major trouble at UMG Dallas. They even joined in on Saturday's underdog theme, sweeping FaZe as a 5th seed to FaZe's 4th seed. Who or what will test the Gfinity G3 champions?

UMG Dallas 2014 concludes Sunday, as we find out which team walks away with the $10,000 top prize. Is it EnVyUs who will march towards another championship? Can one of the veteran teams in the Losers Bracket go on a run? Or will one of the newly-formed teams surprise us all? The action picks up 10am/CDT at MLG.tv/UMG.
