I noticed that I could drop people in what appeared to be 2 shots with a silent Remington and AK-12 at pretty significant range. Some kid took me out from one end of Stonehaven to the other with the Honeybadger pretty swiftly too. It was pretty impressive though because I was running sideways and he sustained his aim really well...
depends what you mean by "damage drop-off"
If a gun does 30 at max distance, it will do so whether or not you have a silencer/suppressor on (exception, some snipers)
If same gun does 50 in close range, it will do so whether or not you have a silencer on
The biggest difference (used to be) is the range at which the damage falls from max to min (in the example, 50 to 30).
I can prove what I am saying; can you?
The silencer attachment is actually pretty realistic. It might be a little too forgiving in the range catagory but I love how IW actually made the silencer louder than in previous games which the silencer rendered the gun nearly inaudible. The silencer just removes the bang but the there's still a fairly loud "PFFT" noise that can be heard by anyone within the immediate area.
I was actually killed by someone last night who heard me shoot my silenced weapon. As soon as I fired my gun you could hear it and he did too. Turned and hunted me down. I was actually happy about it, ironically.
Are you guys kidding me? It lowers the damage how in the hell is that OP? Instead of crying about how you can't tell where the enemy is at learn to adapt besides it doesn't even matter because the guns insta-kill you no matter what so it wouldn't matter if they had a silencer cause you would be dead before you could tell where they are at.
