Things you've noticed that nobody seems to have mentioned...

    sennalike

Ego, thanks for the inspiration. Only yesterday I was thinking of raising the "call outs", but didn't.

In MW3 everybody complained about the stealth bomber and that it was OP for a support reward. Yet nobody has complained about the ground jammer having no counter. People have said how great the squad mate is, but nobody has cried it's OP.  Although there is no stealth bomber, for me, the support streaks are way better than the assault streaks. Why is this? It seems to me that they have dumbed down the strength of the assault streaks to the extent where you're better off running support or specialist. It could just be that I have the right classes to avoid being too badly hit by the asault streaks, I don't know.

Everybody complained about death streaks, and although people complain about Riley, has anybody else realised that's exactly what he is; mans best friend watching your back, and going off to get the guy who just killed you.

Now, I don't mind admitting that is all just my take on the game, which I love BTW. But feel free to disagree if you see it differently. But what do you see in this game that nobody seems to have mentioned yet?

You are largely correct.  The lowered lethality of the assault streaks kind of makes them a toss up when you consider that you could be running support streaks and not have to worry about getting knocked off of your streak.  I think that the biggest reason that Riley doesn't get more heat is the fact that the guy that is using him isn't a guy going 1-30.  Riley is just as streak ending as Martyrdom was but at least the guy that ends your streak had to utilize some skill to earn it in the first place.  I still hate that dog though.  He probably wouldn't be as bad if he left after a couple of kills but he just likes me too much and I just keep running into him.  As the ground jammer goes, it's basically a half of an emp and it doesn't last but for a few seconds.  So it's not really that annoying unless you lose your sentry gun over it.

Something that I see gets absolutely no credit for on these boards is the evolution of clan wars from wars to wars based on feedback received on what people wanted done with clan wars.

First clan wars, no one had any clue about the points and how they worked. Eventually, now CP shows up per node. It's been healthy mix of core/hc modes, including one war with 4 hc modes. One of the biggest gripes I saw on the boards was the lack of points given for holding nodes for a period of time, which I can confirm, this war does now. My clan is holding 6 nodes right now since 10pm PST last night and this morning, we have gained 9CP.

I am not going to argue whether IW listens to their customers or not, but signs sure point to yes when you see the changes in clan wars.

Putting clan wars in game would be nice though.  My clan is a bit older and I know a few still have flip phones.  There is no way for them to access what the hell is going on.

                    TheBeastlyDude

My clan is the same way. Nearly half our clan is 30 or older, including yours truly, and what we have done has seemed to help. We have a closed Facebook group where we take screenshots so everyone can see what each node offers in ways of CP, modes, and how many wins it takes to cap. We then post what node we are working on to keep everyone in the loop. Also, we post what node we are working on in our PS3 status message. When nodes get capped, the COD app pushes a notification to our phones and then we post about it on Facebook to keep everyone up to date, especially on what we are working on.

The key is communication. I've played with this clan for 4+ years. I have their phone numbers, facebooks and whatnot and it has made communication, specifically on things such as this, a godsend.

I was thinking the same thing about the dog, it's basically martyrdom.  As phxs pointed out though, it's not a reward given for dying 6 times in a row, so that makes the difference.  The sentry gun in this game seems to explode on it's own.  I personally think it should stick around til someone destroys it.  Ground jammer is pretty sweet.  It doesn't last forever like the emp did, so people see it as an improvement.  I'm surprised people aren't complaining more about the MAAWS and Air Superiority.  I'd be livid if I got a helo pilot and someone called in a 12 pt support streak and just wiped it out.  You are right though, forum goers acted like it was the end of the world that the stealth bomber was in the support tree, yet there are several lethal rewards in the support tree in ghosts (helo scout, squad mate, MAAWS) but no one has really complained much that I've seen.

Probably because the MAAWS is no Stinger, but more of a manually guided RPG-7. In terms of taking out aerial killstreaks, the user has to stand out much more in the open so they have a more clear view of the target (to ensure they don't end up moving the missiles into a building/obstacle), leaving them vulnerable, and if that weren't bad enough, they then have to remain standing there after firing to be able to manually guide the rockets into the target. And considering the rockets have a slight "lag" in movement (they don't just instantly shift to where you turn if you do it quickly), you can end up missing easily if the target is moving and you don't compensate properly. Ironically, it feels like it works better against people and stuff on the ground more so than aerial targets.

Air Superiority actually has a chance of missing. It doesn't just auto-kill every aerial killstreak.

I can understand why there wouldn't be any complaints compared to the Stealth Bomber because, as much as I defend the Stealth Bomber being a Support Killstreak, there's no denying that it IS still quite powerful, much more so than any of the lethal Support Killstreaks in Ghosts. At the same time though, the Stealth Bomber was still a 14 point Support Killstreak and the only ones who would really consistently get them are the "better" players. If "noobs" really "spammed them" as much as I saw people claim on forums, then I think the problem was much more the complainers than the Stealth Bomber itself if they're letting those "noobs" keep getting so many kills that they're able to "spam them". And even if/when a "noob" gets it, it's just one kill (unless, due to horrid MW3 spawns, you end up spawning right in its flight path and dying instantly), so if those complainers are so "skilled" and the opposing team such "noobs", then those complainers should be able to easily build their streak back up again. One can say the same thing when it comes to people getting the K.E.M. Strike from a Care Package on Strikezone.

                      With the Helo Scout...

A.) You have slightly less ammo with the Lynx used (only 4 rounds per magazine).

B.) You can't really fire accurately on the move. You pretty much have to wait for the chopper to stop rocking after you stop moving it before you can start getting more accurate shots, and with how much people tend to move, chances are high that you'll have to shift your position. There's also the fact that, in doing so, you're having to sit still in order to hit your target, leaving you more vulnerable to things like the MAAWS, Air Superiority, the Panzerfaust, Grenade Launchers, or LMGs + AP rounds.

C.) You, the user, are vulnerable to being killed, not just the chopper.

D.) If you're not careful, when the streak runs out, you could end up being forced to land right in the middle of enemy territory and get gunned down instantly.

And the Squad Mate...ehh...given it's not too difficult to kill normal Riot Shield users...

...of course, this is all based on the specific streaks, but when it comes to the general argument in itself ("Wah!!! Support streaks should have NOTHING that can kill!!!"), it's very hypocritical that people would make that complaint in MW3, but not in Ghosts. I tend to counter by saying that, if that were true, then the Assault Killstreaks shouldn't have the UAV or Care Package, which aren't meant to kill other people. In Ghosts, that would meant no SAT-COM, and I'm sure that if it were suddenly take out, same with the UAV and Care Package in MW3, people would cry like no tomorrow.

Somebody on here did complain about the MAAWs. They didn't know what it was and said a guy was using a hack because he had a rocket launcher with a laser. It wouldn't surprise me if I have been reported, once I had 2 squad mates, called in a package and got a dog. Almost had my own personal army, unfortunately it only lasted a minute before the match ended.

Here's something very odd that I don't really see mentioned here.

It's awfully suspicious how often I'm on the winning team by 50+ kills, or the losing team by 50+. Also odd how incredibly often the final score shows one team ALL positive, and the losing team ALL negative. I've been to Las Vegas over a dozen times and know a thing or two about odds making in general...and odds are generally against the above circumstance being so constant unless there's some  other factor dictating it in the background.

This does happen quite a lot. As a domination player I've noticed we can be winning all match until the last minute, then lose. It also happens the other way around. That happened in previous CoD too, but it seems to happen all the time in ghosts. Yesterday I was in a match where the whole enemy side quite as the match started. We capped all three flags and a new enemy team joined before the match stopped. We had around a 70 point lead, but for some reason we couldn't get any kills. They ended up winning. Makes me want to put my tinfoil helmet on and cry "hackers" but maybe they werejust good or lucky. Matchmaking is a long standing issue with CoD, and I don't think ghosts is any better or worse than previously.

I've noticed a few things that no one else seems to have mentioned and i'm not going to mention them either because I know EXACTLY what will happen and no good will come of it.

I enjoy using the support option which is just that, the ability to help your team win. The ground jammer is one of the most strongest streaks in the support lineup, and its only counter is how short it is. CUAVs from before lasted longer, but they did not destroy equipment as the jammer does, yet it last for a few seconds making it just right.

No one complains about Maniac, and its one of the most versatile tools you can use in this game, and I dont mean running around thinking your superman, I mean, waiting and attacking using it via stealth.

Or why doesnt anyone complain that the Ammo Crate gives you 100 more rounds on our LMG, if you coordinate that with a group they literally dont need to use Fully loaded or extended mags plus it gives weapons.

                              Good post

Yeah, I run a variety of support classes. Not necessarily to help my team (although they do). I like to be as economical with my classes as possible. I use ammo crate, as you say it saves one attachment and perk. The jammer, no need for off the grid. Squad mate, no need for dead silence, the enemy hear him and go for him while you can shoot them!  Secondary I run a launcher, unload early on then I can take a gun from the ammo crate without losing anything useful. I use the tacticals instead of lethals, in hardcore they both kill but you can have two tacticals for one perk point whereas two lethals costs two. There's probably more that I've forgotten.

Perhaps I overthink this too much, but I'm convinced many don't pay any attention to being economical with set ups, leading to them crying on here about how certain things are OP and not fair.

i use support because i like helping out team mates with vests, guns, etc.. but the assault streaks are just.. bleh. not very interesting for me. plus.. i don't live long enough in this game to get those higher streaks. now that they are based on kills as opposed to points, i get way less (i play KC and used to get point streaks like crazy).

as for the dog: damned near unfair LOL. i've knifed.. shot.. sometimes there is no counter. maybe we need mace?

The only problem with Support Streaks is that a team can spam the hell out of certain streaks (and I haven't seen it in pubs yet and hopefully I will never). My friends and I have ran all of these at the same time and when working as a team- Satcoms (basically we had a constant Vsat), Oracle (spent most of the match with one active), and Squad mate (Try playing Dom on Strike Zone against 6 players and 6 squad mates) by playing this way we pretty much made the match a joke.

Personally I think Specialist is more powerful than the others due to being able to build your class around the deadeye perk.

Support is great. Assault needs buffing bad. The IMS and sensory should not have a time limit.

I don't fully agree as some have said that the dog is like martyrdom, at first it may have only got me revenge kills, but after having learnt how to use it better I think it's really useful.  If you protect him, he looks after you.  I seem to be able to keep the dog (soon to be wolf) for a long time now, it's like having a mobile motion sensor.

The ground jammer doesn't affect me too much as I don't dot chase that much.

Great thread it's nice to see us talking about different things for a change

Good points. I admit I haven't used the dog much, only at the start when experimenting with everything. When I did have him in my class the only kills he got me were after I died, hence why I said he was like martyrdom. He tends to only get me after I kill the owner too. I think I have been caught by him twice without getting a kill first. I like your idea of using him as a motion sensor, his growl can be useful.
