Help - Setting up a LAN connection, offline.

Black Ops II PlayStation 3

For the first time I'm trying to setup an offline LAN game of Blops 2.

I've got 2x PS3,  2x TV's,  2x Blops2.

I've tried connecting the PS3's together with a cable directly and I've tried connecting them through a switch.

Each can create a LAN game, but neither can see the other.

What am I doing wrong?  Should I be linking directly? Should I be using a router rather than switch. Are there settings in the PS3 than needs to be altered.

Im pretty sure you need to be connected to a router. Both ps3's need to be connected to the same router. Then just create a game and on the other ps3 search for the game. Not sure why you would do this anyway... Since you guys could just go into a private match.

Thanks for that. Looks like I need to find my old router.

Does a private match work across 2 PS3's?  We're wanting to have 2 players on 2 different machines, so the TV's are only 2 way split rather than 4 way split.
