Hi Dijachance,

Thanks for posting your information. Online services appear to be up for PS3 Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Status Have you tried rebooting your router?  Are you still unable to connect to an online match?

Thanks ^AH

I got the same problem. Can't connect to Online service. Every time I try to connect it pops up the message about checking the server status from www.callofduty.com/blackops2/status and it has always been fine.

I've tried multiple different solutions and not one of them has worked, including..

- Turning off my modem (and console) several times and turning the console on when all lights have been lit on the modem

- Deleting the data and re-installing it

- Changing the network settings (without UPnP, changing IP-address, DNS-address and even port forwarding etc.)

- Taking the disc out and back in

Other info:

Platform is PS3

Version number: 43 [41.1517.15.1644036]

Nat type: Strict

Bandwidth: 0Kbps

Connection type: Wired

Note: Got it working for a couple of minutes while typing this, that time Nat type was Open and Bandwidth jumped to over 1300Kbps. Then it lost it while changing from zombies to multiplayer.

Also I noticed that when I'm not logged in PSN Nat type is Open, but when logged in, it turns Strict.

The highlighted words are your problem. Set your NAT to "Open."

Well, I mean, it might also help if you actually have a connection. 0Kbps ??

Set your NAT to Open and see what happens.

edit - if it keeps switching back to Strict, I'm pretty sure that's either a Router or Modem issue. I'd start with the Router ... call your Router manufacturer for assistance if you don't know how to change the settings.

Solution

Hi Loud_and_Clear,

You can always check online services status here Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Status

If online services are fully operational and you are still unable to connect, you may want to try the following.

  1. Reboot your router.
  2. Try using a wired connection in order to sustain the connection quality.
  3. Establish a static IP address and port forward.

Here are the port numbers you will need:

PS: Activision Support

Should you have any questions on how to port forward, please contact your ISP or the router manufacturer.

I have done everything mentioned in this forum. EVEN had AT@T come out and install a new router and test my system. The problem is the Black Ops 2 server refusing my connection. It has been over a week and no connection on any Call of Duty Games. Ive tried reinstalling Black Ops 2, Black Ops and Advanced Warfare 3. NO DICE!
