I just moved into my dorm and online play for console can only be achieved through wired connection. Ive been trying for a couple days now to access multiplayer and zombies but I keep getting server error.
Im able to watch NetFelix and Hulu, but its not connecting to black ops 2
What console are you using? Anything you have tried so far to fix this issue.
Try to check this link for some suggestions on how to fix this. Activision Support
It's for PS3 though but if you are on Xbox, just browse on that link and there are also some suggested fix.
Hope this helps.
I have a Ps3.
i tried unplugging the Ethernet cord and turning off the ps3.
Thats the only thing I could do since we don't have access to the IT equipment.
Idk what to do, I can't connect to the wifi here since its not available for consoles.
From what I know there are some ports that are needed to be set for the game.
If you are just sharing your connection with your school or dorm though, I think you may not be able to have the ports set.
Try checking the firewall settings of the router, Make sure that none of the settings are hindering you to connect online.
I was able to connect via wifi here. I check the blackops 2 system information.... The connectivity information reads A.-.-.-.E.F.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.
I see. Your console is not receiving any bandwidth though. I think you need a more stable internet connection. Since you are playing an online game, it is better if you have a wired connection. The bandwidth is more stable than wireless. Maintain at least 1000kbps of bandwidth.
The wire connection reads the same thing. It ma. Be the school firewall blocking me
Could be. And you are connected through WiFi. The bandwidth tends to be distributed to the devices currently utilizing the connection. The more devices are connected the lesser bandwidth your device gets, that could be one reason why you can or can't connect online at some point.
Well wired connection is more stable. It allocates a certain amount of bandwidth to the device connected to the router plus, it is not prone to signal interference.
