ddoes anyone know what this symbol, arrow with brackets, means? i see it playing Dom. at the begining of the match and also during game play, but not in every game.
That is a player on your team who is speaking into a mic.
i rec. an e-mail saying this is a team member speaking into a mic. but if that is true, then why don't i see the symbol in every game when t. members are speaking into a mic?
The same reason that the mic symbol does not always que up when you're in a the lobby and someone is speaking. There's a volume threshold that must be met before the "someone is speaking" signal is shown on screen. That does not mean the mic won't hear and thus broadcast sound, it just means that there is no promise that the audience will be able to hear anything until that threshold is met.
Also, someone's mic can be on the fritz. The user may not even realize their mic is making unwanted noise. Then there are also the music listeners who have music on in the background or other sound and do not realize that their mics can pic it up.
thank you for the additional info. your first response confused me and at my age it doesn't take much.
Don't worry mattie ... I asked the same question at some point. I was my brother, roughly half my age, that gave me the answer. He's 21 or so.
Nice work on explaining it. Everything you said is true. I did experience this a couple of times.
