Wii U Specific Features/Issues

Feature Improvements:

  • The globe heatmap is now visible on the GamePad while in the MP menu.
  • Improvements made to increase the accuracy of Theater replays when following weapons in ADS.

Wii Remote changes:

  • Mantling now requires pressing forward and holding the A button
  • Camera lock will not prevent camera rotation while aiming down the sights
  • Small increase to aim assist snap strength

Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed a case where the player was unable to skip killcams
  • Fixed an issue with certain button layouts that prevented the player from canceling a Tactical Insert respawn.
  • Resolved an issue where the player could control Floating scope position during killcam and spectator cams.

Global Game Features/Issues

Feature Improvements

  • The CODcast control panel can now optionally show the overhead map in the player list in games with 10 players or less.

Multiplayer Issues Addressed

  • Resolved Select Fire reverting back to default settings after a round transition.
  • Fixed a potential exploit using the Trophy System.
  • Resolved an issue on Drone where the automatic doors at the weapon plant would trigger/destroy Lethal Equipment.
  • Addressed an issue with the highlight for the Dual Band Scope on players equipped with certain weapons.
  • Addressed an issue with the VTOL Warship not destroying if hit when exiting the map.
  • Players will now be able to complete the Shredder Scorestreak challenge using a Death Machine from a care package.
  • The Stealth Chopper no longer counts towards completion of the Chopper Hunter challenge.
  • Resolved an issue with C4 and Bouncing Betty’s killing players on contact.
  • Fixed an issue where the Combat Axe would sometimes destroy the Guardian.
  • Addressed a missing image issue with the Medals section of the Combat Record for new players.
  • Players with Hard Wired equipped will no longer lose their Care Package if throwing it while an enemy EMP Scorestreak is active.
  • Fixed an issue with bomb plants being automatically aborted while a Care Package or Hunter Killer Drone is equipped.
  • Resolved an issue where planting a Claymore in front of a crouched player with a Riot Shield would cause the Claymore to fly across the map.
  • Resolved a couple of overlapping UI issues when CODcasting.
  • Players can now turn the Voice Icon On/Off when CODcasting a match in Theater.
  • Hosts can now kick players in Custom Game lobbies.
  • The CODcast UI is now displaying the flag for the Flag Carrier in the Objective column.
  • Addressed a button mapping issue in the Emblem Options menu.
  • Resolved an issue with the red crosshair appearing in the Target Finder when targeting an enemy equipped with Cold Blooded.
  • Fixed an issue with the stats tracking for the Executioner’s Accuracy in the Combat Record.
  • Resolved an issue where the turret in the northern building on Turbine would become unusable.
  • Addressed an issue with the Lightning Strike Scorestreak if the player had the tablet out during a host migration.
  • Fixed an issue with some weapons having invisible magazines from 3rd person animations during an automatic reload.
  • Addressed an issue where the game would sometimes crash after repeated host migrations.
  • Fixed knife lunge launching players on the Express map.
  • Fixed an issue where the player could get an empty War Machine or Death Machine when switching classes at the start of the match.
  • Match clocks in Multi-Team and Free-for-All games modes no longer continue to tick down in Theater when a CODcast game is paused.

Gameplay Balancing

Spawn System Improvements:

  • Reduced the weight of positive team spawn influencers on owned Domination flags. This reduces cases in Domination where players may spawn near their team but also near danger.
  • Added more spawn points to Hijacked for Demolition and Kill Confirmed, which improves the spawn-picking algorithm on that map in those game modes.
  • Adjusted spawn influencers on Standoff for improved spawn-picking algorithms in all game modes.


  • Recoil has been increased.
  • Hip fire accuracy has been slightly reduced.

FAL OSW Select Fire:

  • Damage reduced when firing full auto.

SMR Select Fire:       

  • Damage reduced when firing full auto.


  • Dual wield damage reduced.

  • Cold blooded now renders enemies almost completely invisible to MMS.


  • Medium range damage increased.


  • Medium range damage increased.

Type 25:

  • Move speed increased.
  • Medium range damage increased.

Ballista Iron Sight:

  • Idle sway reduced.

Zombies Issues Addressed

  • Resolved several exploits in Green Run
  • Resolved network/connectivity issues that could occur in the frontend and lobbies.

Our next patch has been submitted to Nintendo.  We are hoping for early next week.  Patch notes will be updated once we have approvals in from Nintendo and the patch is ready to go live.  I will not be giving information on what is included in the patch until that time.


Hotfix: Feb 28, 2013 - 28.126.15

  • Friends menu button prompt is again available in the ingame pause menu (MP + ZM)
  • The player has the option to open the keyboard on the TV or Gamepad when:
    • Composing text messages (MP + ZM)
    • Renaming a custom class (MP only)
    • Renaming or adding a clan tag (MP only)
  • The keyboard will now appear on the Gamepad, if it is turned on, when adding a friend through the friends menu(MP + ZM)

Wii Remote changes:

  • · Improved matchmaking method for better connection quality
  • · Addressed an issue where microphone stops working after opening the Home Button Menu

  • · Addressed an exploit where players could gain XP privately without matchmaking.
  • · Addressed an issue where the player's EMP grenade blast would cancel out the effects of an enemy's EMP.
  • · Fixed an issue with the Skulls Camo Challenge for the RPG unlocking by using other weapons in conjunction with the RPG.
  • · Addressed an issue with taking control of an AGR while next to a friendly player causing loss of functionality for firing rockets.
  • · Resolved an issue where spectating would default to 3rd person even though it had been disabled if the player was previously spectating in 3rd person.

Gameplay Balancing:

  • · Reduced the red flash damage indicator when using the Toughness Perk.
  • · Reduced Guardian damage in Hardcore modes.

Zombies Issues Addressed:

  • · Disappearing fog addressed in Theater Mode when flying through the laboratory in Tranzit.
  • · Addressed an issue where players had in-game functionality during the loading countdown timer on Tranzit if a Host Migration occurred during the first 5 seconds of a game.
  • · Player names will now appear above players when in spectate mode upon hot joining a custom Grief game mode.
  • · Fixed an issue where Zombies were not spawning in after a Host Migration in a Bus Depot standard match.
  • · Addressed an issue where the players controller would vibrate for a long duration after the player hot joined a game of Tranzit
  • · Fixed an issue where users could not play the game in offline mode.
  • · Resolved several instances where players could avoid Zombie attacks by hiding in objects around Tranzit
  • · Addressed an issue with taking screenshots in Theater mode

    • Lowered HUD threshold for the "low health" overlay to increase player’s awareness of low health.
    • Added a “Go to Top” button for the League Leaderboard.

  Issues Addressed 

    • Matchmaking modified to never return games outside of player’s own continent, unless the Connection Type in Search Preferences is set to “Any”.
    • Addressed an issue where the UAV would not trigger if called in while aiming down sight.
    • Addressed an issue where the Master Demolition challenge did not unlock when the requirements were complete.
    • Addressed issue with the headshot sound not playing in final Killcams and Theater Demos.
    • Fixed an issue in League Play where “Career Wins” for a Series were not displayed during placement in the Lobby Career Overview.
    • Updated the After Action Report in League Play so that bonus points are not summed with the ladder points in points earned for the match. 
    • Stocks on SMGs no longer allow a player to move faster while ADS than when moving normally.
    • Shotgun crosshairs will no longer turn red if an enemy is out of the shotgun’s maximum damage range.
    • Fixed an issue where bullets would not fire straight immediately after aiming down the sight while moving at the same time.
    • Improved turret tracking to eliminate false positives when checking line of sight.
    • Turrets now have smoother tracking when targeting players.
    • Improved bot pathing on multiple maps.
    • Current League Info is now getting updated properly in the Player Identity.
    • Manual sorting on League Teams removed as the results are now returned correctly.
    • Improved the Scoreboard to make friend Playercard information more accessible.
    • Addressed multiple UI issues.
    • Players can no longer earn credit towards a Prestige Equipment challenge through “friendly” flashbangs, concussions, and shock charges.

    • Players are no longer able to get infinite Black Hats by immediately using another Black Hat.
    • Addressed an issue where it was possible for a player to equip two Assault Shields at the same time.
    • Players Spectating a One in the Chamber game no longer earn Survivor Bonus Points.
    • A player can no longer earn Medals for multi-kills if they continue to kill quickly after dying and re-spawning.
    • Various minor map fixes were made across multiple maps.


Gameplay Balancing


    • Death Machine: 3 hit kill range increased.
    • Dragonfire: health increased, gun spread reduced.
    • AGR: ground speed increased, reduced machine gun close range damage.
    • Warthog: reduced missile delay.
    • Lodestar: reduced missile speed and AOE radius.
    • Swarm: drone re-spawn delay increased.


    • Hard Wired: Players with hard wired are now completely unaffected by EMP grenades.


    • Trophy System: increased range.


    • All + Silencers: reduced range.

Assault Rifles:

    • All: reduced idle sway.
    • M27: reduced amount of bullets to headshot kill at all ranges, increased 4-hit kill range.
    • Type25: reduced amount of bullets to headshot kill at all ranges, slightly reduced maximum hip fire spread.
    • SCAR: Increased 3-hit kill range.  Maximum amount of bullets to kill is now 4.
    • SIG556: Penetration increased from medium to large, reduced burst delay, and maximum amount of bullets to kill is now 4.
    • MTAR: increased 3-hit kill range.
    • SMR: slight increase to damage so that 2 hit kills can still happen with minor penetration, headshot multiplier increased at long distance.
    • FAL OSW + Select Fire: increased recoil.
    • FAL OSW: increased hip spread.


    • All: ADS in and out time reduced.


    • SRM1216: slightly increased short range damage.
