I'm sure this has probably been mentioned several times on this forums since it's been a problem for a very long time. I don't understand why Treyarch hasn't fixed this yet since it very annoying when one person drops and since nothing else counts, the rest of the rounds are basically useless for leaderboards so people leave afterwards. I suspect most of the higher leaderboard ranks are lower than they should be because players dropped out early, hell usually at least one person lags out/quits before we get far enough to all get downed (if we're playing with a decent group).
Like I said this has been a problem for a very long time and since Treyarch hasn't fixed it, I am beginning to think that it is intentional and if that is the case, can someone from Treyarch please address why it is so (or someone link me them doing so). Aside from getting constantly paired up with people who are terrible, this is probably one of the most frustrating things in zombies. You invest a lot of times into one zombie game only to have a person drop before you break your previous record.
It's all rather infuriating. My main reason for purchasing Black Ops II (and the previous one) is for zombies. Hell, I only bought the season pass to play the zombie maps, I couldn't care less about the multiplayer maps although I occasionally play them. That might sound stupid/silly but I just really like zombies and it is one of the reasons I generally only purchase the Treyarch-made Call of Duty games (that's not to say that Infinity Ward's incarnation is worse, only that I buy it for zombies)
I guess one possible reason is because it wouldn't make sense if someone gets round 45 credit solo if he was playing with two other people who dropped out the round before. However, I think the more reasonable solution is to just give highest round credit to the original number of players that started out. If someone drops, they can either not get any credit or only the credit for the round they left on (if possible). I would rather the leaderboards say I got to round 45 with 4 players even if the other three dropped out at round 5, then just say round 5 with 4 players.
I apologize for my very long rant since this type of complaint probably isn't uncommon. Hopefully someone can shed some light on this issue.
Someone mentioned in a post earlier, shadowalker I believe, that if you start with 4 people, you get more zombies. And if you are kill whoring, you will rack up way more kills than if you were playing solo per say. So if you get to round 40 and then everyone leaves but you and then you get to 45 and die so it would save your game to the solo leaderboards, then you would more likely be at the top of the list of those that got to 45 because of the kills you got, that you wouldn't have been able to in solo. That is a pretty damn good explanation if you ask me.
I play on solo all the time and my matches don't count to the leaderboard! Explain why please!
Yes! Not just that every match I play on solo dosent get recorded on theatre!!
Are you playing on local maybe? I can't think of anything else. That is odd. I would bring it up to activision support maybe.
I understand. I just played a 4player nuketown game and was VERY fortunate to get jug in round 4 as the FIRST perk! One player was particularly bad and was down many times early on and rage quit on round 8. I play in public lobbies because I enjoy carrying games and helping people break their leaderboards. I did so numerous time on B01 with great success. However, this is no longer possible in B02. When someone leaves, everyone knows the game doesn't count for the rounds anymore and a mass exodus occurs. If players do not leave, it's readily transparent the players' motivation is sapped since no matter how good they do on the surviving rounds, it will not record the rounds.
I think I understand why Treyarch made it so the rounds don't count after someone leaves the game. First, like you said, it wouldn't be fair if in a 3player on round 45 where 2 players drop out and your scores apply to the solo board. And if the leaderboard counts for the number of original players in the game their would be problems. If such a system existed one can easily manipulate the leaderboard system. Lets say I want to cheat. I want to player a 2player game on the 4 player leaderboard. All I would have to do is simply get a friend to plug in his 2nd controller and start a 4player game. He exits on round 1 and now my leaderboard counts on the 4player board. Understand?
In short, Treyarch is trying to protect the integrity of the leaderboards by not allowing games to count after someone leaves. But, all in all, it's a futile effort at best. The 3player and 4player leaderboards do not have any integrity nowadays. Their is a glitch which many people know about that allows you to play solo or 2player on the 3 or 4player leaderboards. And all of the TOP scores on the 3 and 4player boards are done by solo players or 2player coop boards.
My solution here is simple. Create a 5th leaderboard. The 5th board will be a coop board that functions exactly the way the coop board did on BO1. So if you start a 4player game and someone leaves your score will no longer apply to the 4player board but the special 5th board. And Treyarch needs to fix the glitch that allows people to play solo/2player on the 3 and 4player boards! It's been out since the inception of B02 and is constantly abused!
I hold Treyarch responsible for this nonsense. They have enabled rage quitters to ruin public games and allowed glitchers to ruin the integrity of the 3player and 4player leaderboards. And this BS needs to be rectified immediately. FU Treyarch!
Their, I said my peace.
1) Remove rankings(skulls, knife, shotguns etc) and tallys
2) Remove Downs stat
3) Bring back lobby leaderboards
You will see the skill of players based on their highest rounds. Downs and rank will no longer mean anything.
Rage quitting fixed.
