M8A1

Country: United States / Germany

Manufacturer: Heckler and Koch

Cartridge: 5.56x45mm NATO

Fire Rate: 750 rpm

Fire Mode: 4-Round Burst

Damage: Medium

Range: Medium

Otherwise known as the XM8, this rifle looks to be the standard rifle of the Black Ops soldiers. Developed by H&K as a lightweight replacement for the M16 and M4, the XM8 competed in the Objective Individual Combat Weapon (OICW) challenge to replace the M16 and M4, but failed. Obviously Black Ops 2 has ressurected the rifle. The in-game version appears to be a modification of the existing rifle, with an upper rail on the carry handle and a new handguard.

This is the AN-94 Abakan, a relatively new and advanced Russian assault rifle. Also seen a few times in the trailer, and appears to be the standard Insurgent rifle. It has a unique 2-round burst fire that can be used in-game as well as fully automatic firing. This gun also features an advanced anti-recoil system with a recoiling barrel assembly and compensator. This allows the 2 bullets to be fired before the recoil hits the shooter, giving tight grouping for the weapon. Also interesting to note, the magazine is canted slightly to the right, as this is necessary for the design.

Chicom CQB

Country: China

Manufacturer: China South Industries

Cartridge: 5.8x21mm

Fire Rate: 900 rpm

Fire Mode: 3-Round Burst

Damage: Low

Range: Low

Recoil: Low-Medium

Magazine Size: 40 Rounds (Standard), 54 Rounds (Extended)

The Chicom CQB is a Chinese bullpup sub-machine gun. The weapon does not truly exist in real-life, but is based off of the JS9, which is a variant of the QCW-05 (Type 05) Chinese submachine gun. The Type 05 entered and won a competition held by the PLA for a compact submachine gun to replace the aging models. It resembles the Type-95 in its external appearance, but internally operates differently. The difference between the Type 05 and the JS9 is that the JS9 has a Picatinny Rail instead of a carrying handle. The Chicom QCB is based off the JS9 although might not use the 9mm cartridge. It features a rail-mounted Carrying Handle and iron sights as well as a flashlight, very similar to the FMG-9’s iron sights from Modern Warfare 3. It also has a charging handle on the side of the weapon, while the JS9 does not.

Manufacturer: TBD

Cartridge: 5.56x45mm (caseless)

Fire Rate: 650 rpm

Fire Mode: Fully Automatic

Damage: Medium

Range: Medium

Recoil: Low-Medium

Magazine Size: 100 Rounds (Standard), 150 Rounds (Extended)

The LSAT (Light Small Arms Technologies) was a developmental light machine enrolled in the JSSAP. The program started when the Joint Service Small Arms Program (JSSAP) challenged the American Defense Industry to develop lighter small arms and ammunition. The LSAT provides a major reduction in weight over traditional LMGs, as well as improvements in other areas, such as controllability and reliability. The LSAT has the potential to improve battlefield effectiveness due to its simpler and more consistent weapon action, its light weight and low recoil, and its stiffer barrel.  Its use of recoil compensation has produced positive feedback regarding controllability; the simpler mechanism of the LSAT is both more reliable and easier to maintain. It also uses a unique caseless ammunition, which reduces the weight even more.

Shotguns:

KSG

Country: United States

Manufacturer: Kel-Tec

Cartridge: Slug Rounds

Fire Rate: 70 rpm

Fire Mode: Pump Action

Damage: High

Range: Low

Recoil: Medium

Magazine Size: 14 Rounds (Standard), 21 Rounds (Extended)

The KSG is a pump action shotgun with two tubes holding seven rounds each. The ammunition feeds from both tube magazines independently, located below the barrel on both sides. The operator can select a magazine by switching a three-position lever, located behind the pistol grip in the stock. The middle position blocks the both magazines and allows the user to chamber a single round manually. Switching the lever to one side brings the respective magazine into the feed cycle. Once one magazine is depleted, the user manually switches to the second magazine by pushing the magazine selection lever toward it. In-gam it uses slug ammunition, a shotgun round that fires only one projectile, like a conventional weapon, rewarding accuracy but limiting it's close range effectiveness.

M1216

Country: United States

Manufacturer: SRM Arms / Guster Arms

Cartridge: 00 Buckshot, 12-Gauge

Fire Rate: 950 rpm

Fire Mode: Fully Automatic

Damage: High

Range: Low

Recoil: Low-medium

Magazine Size: 16 Rounds (Standard), 24 Rounds (Extended)

The M1216 is a fully automatic shotgun with 4 tubes holding 4 rounds each, for a total of 16 rounds. The rounds are held in a cylindrical magazine at the front of the weapon acting as a handguard. Every four rounds the tube must be turned to load the next four, and after the fourth, the magazine must be reloaded. Because it is an actual magazine, this gives  the M1216 a great capacity and a quick reload time.

Saiga-12

Country: Russia

Manufacturer: Izhmash

Cartridge: 00 Buckshot, 12-Gauge

Fire Rate: 600 rpm

Fire Mode: Semi-Automatic

Damage: High

Range: Low

Recoil: Medium

Magazine Size: 10 Rounds (Standard), 15 Rounds (Extended)

The Saiga-12 is a semi-automatic shotgun designed after the AK-47's design, as the receiver is almost identical. Like the Kalashnikov rifle variants, it is a rotating bolt, gas-operated gun that feeds from an 10-round box magazine. All Saiga-12 configurations are recognizable as Kalashnikov-pattern guns by the large lever-safety on the right side of the receiver and the large top-mounted dust cover held in place by the rear of the recoil spring assembly. The looser clearances offered in an AK style design result in high reliability which is an enormous concern for any semi-auto shotgun, as this class of weapon had previously tended towards unreliability.

Fire Rate: 20 rpm

Fire Mode: Single Shot, Lock-On Only

Damage: High

Range: High

Recoil: Low

Magazine Size: 1 Round (Standard)

Not much is known about this weapon. It does not exist. By educated guessing, we can deduce that this is similar in function to the Stinger Missile Launcher. It requires a lock-on to fire. This launcher is only used against aerial vehicles, due to the acronym “AA” (Anti-Air) in the name. The letters “FHJ” are also featured on the FHJ-84 Launcher, thus why it might be of Chinese origin. More will be added as it is released.

The Crossbow in Black Ops 2 is based off the 2012 Horton Havoc Crossbow, which uses the Reverse Draw Technology, as well as a thumbhole stock. The reciever has been futuristically styled to look more like a rifle rather than a crossbow. Astoundingly, the Crossbow holds three bolts in one clip, never seen before on a crossbow. It can also be equipped with attachments such as an ACOG scope.

It makes no sense why an XM8 would be standard to any branch of the US Military because it was dropped by the US Military as a replacment. Under heavy rates of fire the plastic parts would melt. The rife was a straight POS.

You have your facts all wrong. The incidents where the plastic would melt was only on the LMG version. The XM8 has a unique barrel interchange system for easy transitions on the battlefield regarding the mission at hand.

Standard 16" barrel for the assault rifle

smaller 12" barrel for CQC

20" barrels for the SAW/ or Sharpshooter role.

Your implications that the gun was trash are false. The gun out performed the SCAR and Rob Arms for most of the field tests. The military contractors just chose not to deal with the overheating barrel for the 20" SAW role. Instead they chose the SCAR, and later on, the ACR

Thats garbage, the plastic don't melt by heavy fire. This gun was tested under extrem conditions and was the best weapon. They fire off tenthousands of bullets with just some weapons. The XM8 is one of the newest weapons and the best anyway. The reason, that the XM8 isn't the standart weapon of the US Army, is that the weapon lobyists wan't an american weapon and so the XM8 and the Scar (both are extremly better and moderner than the M4A1 and M16A4) are canceled.

All in all, the american politics prefer US-weapons against the lifes of american soldiers. Everybody who saw the XM8 and all of their functions know what I mean.

@callofduty_capers  The XM8 is the follower of the G36, and the G36 is also better than the M4A1 and M16A4 AND this weapon is made out off steel

The game takes place in the future where they could've fixed that problem, not to mention the gun looks totally badass!

It does look like an XM8 rifle at 1:11 in the trailer. I really do hope that it's in the multiplayer because I love the design of it and the feel of it in BF:BC2. I tweeted the XM8 a few days ago to Vonderhaar hoping that it will be implented into the game since this gun was hoped to be the new standard for the army but then became a cancelled prototype.
