**FIXED HERE** Direct3DDevice9::present failed: Dr...

This issue has been fixed. Here's the post posted by TOKAE. All credits go to his post at page 5. Thanks again TOKAE!

Start ~> Run ~> regedit

Navigate to :

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management

Look for the key. The REG_DWORD "PagedPoolSize"

Double click on "PagedPoolSize". Hexadecimal is listed first.

Change the "Value Data" to one of these below:

Note: You only need to enter EITHER Hexadecimal or Decimal.

They both are the same. I recomend using 256Mb should solve the problem.

Megabytes Hexadecimal Decimal

192Mb 0c000000 201326592

256Mb 10000000 268435456 <~~~~ I used this, it worked for me.

384Mb 18000000 402653184

You do not need anything bigger than 400Mb... in most cases 300Mb is too much as well.

After doing this, REBOOT! Then start up CoD:WaW

Original Post:

{PC}

At patch 1.3, nothing was wrong and I was playing CoD: WaW with no problems at all.

Now with patch 1.4, every time I attempt to join a server and it's loading the map (new or old),

it shuts down the game, saying 'Direct3DDevice9:Smiley Tongueresent failed: Driver internal error',

and giving a popup saying 'Unhandled exception caught'.

EDIT: ONLY NEW MAPS, AFTER UPDATING EVERYTHING ONLY THE NEW MAPS CRASH!

I can play zombies: Verrúckt though. Shitted my pants .

I have removed DirectX from my computer, and installed the one on the CoD disc.

I have downloaded the newest version of the .NET Framework

I have got the original game

I haven't got any hacks, cracks, mods or .cfg files installed.

I have updated my drivers. Twice.

I have rebooted my computer. 4 times.

My rig from SystemLabRequirements.com:

Minimum: Pass

Recommended: No data

My system specs were here, issue fixed now.

Same issue here. Searched the net extensively for a fix and nothing. I combed this forum for help and nothing. I've been to activision's page and nothing. Worked before and now since patch its all messed up. Same error messages I get

I get the same error also. (Direct3DDevice9:Smiley Tongueresent failed: Driver internal error).

I can run any of the old maps and the new zombie map (Verrückt), but not the three new maps (Knee Deep, Station, Nightfire).

I've tried updating graphics drivers and updating DX.

i have the opposite problem,

I can run the new maps but my custom maps are pooched. Ran on our custom servers just fine for last number of months , now about 1/2 the custom maps we have cause my system to hard crash..

I get a bsod which flashes so fast i can't even read it and there is nothing showing in my error logs in windows.

I am using stable drivers from nvidia 182.06, directx is updated..sound card drivers from asus are updated..

its not a heating issue on either my cpu or cards..

ohh and these crashes are starting to effect my whole system, and i lost my favourites list as well.

I'm stumped.

It's ATI's drivers. Doesn't help if you update Catalyst Control Center, or disable it, I just don't have a clue on how to fix it. Anyone WITH an ATI videocard that CAN play the game?

Yeah still no fix or any sign of one. Activision's response is "Do you meet min requirements?"

So sick of hearing that. Listen...we ran the game absolutely FINE before the patch.

Im hearing "Roll back driver to 175.xx." yeah thats fine if you run Nvidea graphix.

What about an ATI fix? This is absolutely ridiculous. What i dont understand is that this problem has been around for awhile weather it be older WaW patches or for another game. All the research I done while searching for a fix has uncovered many exact and similar cases all of which went unsolved.

So what? Are we just F'd then?

That's the whole problem with patches in CoD, you can't reinstall them. You'll have to remove CoDWAW and reinstall it again (RevoUninstaller (google it) is very good with removing all tracks of programs).
