Black ops 4 impressions. What do you think?

Call of Duty Black Ops 4 General Discussion Forum

I don't see a bo4 forum up yet, which is odd since the ww2 forum was up and running when they released the first info. But anyways, I have been watching all the gameplay I can find in the last week. And I've got to say, it's a bold step. I'm not sure if it's the right set up for the cod community personally. You can't even find a game of dom in which randoms actually play the objectives, so I'm not sure such a teamwork heavy focus is even a semi good idea. I personally think it's kinda neat. And I think cod did need to evolve in some way.  I'm just not sure this was the path it should have went. I think the 150 health is silly and i think 50 extra armor each spawn is even more silly. And the healing mechanic is going to need some tweaking before launch or everyone is going to be using the same tactical. I think the gameplay looks pretty solid , and the maps looked a shade above crap. But all in all I'm looking forward to the beta, and I'm really looking forward to see if the community evolves with the game or if they stomp their feet and demand they change it back...

 Edit.

I forgot, with the fact that they are cutting out the campaign, I think it might be a really good idea for them to go the tf2 route and have free doc throughout the year. I personally don't think a cod multiplayer only version is enough content for that price, but that's just me.

What do you guys think??

Oh and ps.

I totally called it that they were going to try and cash in on battle royale.

Not sure why you can't see the Black Ops 4 Forum, it is there (I swear Smiley Very Happy)

I will move your post to that forum in general discussion, in the hopes it flourishes.

Went through the whole menus on mobile.  Still couldn't find it. But I'm here now.

Thanks.

Yeah... you can't get to it from the mobile menu. It's a piss-poor design.

That's my opinion but it should be yours ;-),

I've seen a few places mentioning leaks that claimed there would be DLC released, to everybody, for free in an attempt to do away with the fracturing of the playerbase that has traditionally taken place in other CoDs after the first map packs drop. This is one leak I hope pans out, and is true. Not because I want something for free, but because my connectivity issues (with past CoDs) always begin with DLC1, and get progressively worse with each subsequent drop.

I'm totally in agreement about questioning whether or not forced teamwork is a smart move. I also have huge reservations about how they appear to be allowing only one of each specialist per team, forcing a player to play as a specialist they usually never choose. I understand getting players out of their comfort zone, but one player out of their comfort zone can ruin a match for the other 4 players on the team.

I don't know, man. I want to be hyped, but I'm feeling less and less optimistic with each new piece of info we receive. Time Will tell, I guess.

Couldnt have said it any better my friend. The more I see, the more I guess if they do the right approach. Especially 5 vs. 5 grinds me the most. I play for 10+ years every CoD now, and it was either 6 vs. 6, or 9 vs. 9 in Ground War. Now why get it reduced to 5 vs 5? I dont get it. Is it probably to counter lag, or just a thing someone was coming up at Treyarch, thinking he have a great idea. I dont get it...

5v5 doesn't bother me. But i understand why it fits better in the more herocentric gameplay.  But like MGTS said, I think the community us going to have a harder time with being limited to a certain character. And how they decide of 2 or 3 people want to use the same one. I think this part is one of the bigger problems. From the looks of the film I've seen, whoever is lucky enough to get their cursor over the character gets to use it. And I think that's a bad way to go. They could have a dice roll system or something. Because if 3 people want seraph and one gets it, the other 2 will quit match. Cause that's how cod players are. It just seems like they haven't thought some things thru.

Yea same i do not feel the hype to pree order. I feel the opposite. I'm arguing with my friends if it is even worth bying. There will never be a game where everyone is happy with there choice of specialist. Cause there will garantly be one over power specialist that everyone wants to play.

I guess in BO3 I didn’t care all that much what character I played with since things like afterburner were a perk and everyone had the same basic movement speed. Youve got a point a though, I can see the forum title now “Havent been able to play with Seraph for 6 hours now”. This might be a subject for a whole other thread too but I was hoping that they would ditch having to check off all the wild cards in create a class, can’t hardly set up one new class between matches in BO3 sometimes. I liked IWs where you just knew how many items you could have and make 2-3 new setups after a match if you were quick about it. Being able to change combat rigs and traits mid game in IW was another nice feature I wish had been in BO3 and would be cool for this year.
