What do you think about this news ?
Do you think It will be a good thing for us, PC gamers ?
Your link is broken, so I read the Bloomberg story instead. From a business perspective and all of that new debt in an unpredictable market probably not the most brilliant of all moves. The only concern I have is lack of competition often results in lack luster innovations and creativity. So all I can say is we'll just have to sit back and see what unfolds over the next couple of years, all of the companies have projects either finished or in the process of being created so after all of that is past then you'll know if this is a good thing or something else.
A potential immediate problem is in any merger/acquisition you have overlap (pink slips) and who Activision fires is as important as who they keep, and in particular who wants to stay. As a result you risk a massive purge of talented people who can possibly take key personnel and acquire venture capitol (cash) for a competing newly formed company, and Activision can end-up owning a lot of real estate but not the talent to fill the empty offices.
Thanks to share your opinion Momba1. Your link is broken for me , and mine works . Perhaps any region issue ? (I'm from EU)
I just fixed my link, it was totally gone. Yeah sometimes there are regional issues not to mention the forum has automatic tools to block certain links.
Here's your link that works in North America (US) - Develop Activision independence.
Yeah i noticed, Your link works fine now. Sad i cannot edit my first post, dunno why :/
Look on the left side under 'ACTIONS' in white, there should be an edit discussion.
Looks to be good news, the less amount of "co-owners" the better.
That's quite impressive business skill to buy out a majority of 52%!
Never knew Activision was half French (explains everything )
Just kidding, Allez les bleue
