I have tried absolutely everything to solve the error message and hard freezes I receive when I run BO2 (ERROR DURING INITIALIZATION: UNHANDLED EXCEPTION CAUGHT), but NOTHING has worked. Honestly, I have tried aboslutely everything to resolve this error i.e. updated drivers (NVIDIA graphics card, sound card, BIOS, Windows Update etc), changed my timezone/date as per the same error encountered by other users, re-installed the game 6 times, checked game cache in Steam, reinstalled/updated Steam, disabled/reinable sound cards, download BETA drivers - ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING!
I literally spent days trying to solve this problem and contacted Activision Support for assistance several times. After spending an eternits on the phone, the customer representative informed me that COD BO2 hasn't entirely been tested on gaming laptops such as the Dell XPS series (what I have) or Alienware laptops and won't work. They "might" be working on a patch for laptop users in the "near" future. WHAT A JOKE! Thanks Activision - thanks for wasting my time and money. I trusted this game would work, like all the other COD games I purchased and played, hence I didn't even bother keeping the receipt for a refund.
In case other users are wondering, I own a Dell XPS 17 laptop (6 months old):
- Intel Core i7-2670QM @ 2.20 GHz
- 6GB DDR3 RAM
- Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
-nVidia GeForce GT 555M 3GB graphics card
- 1TB HDD
Is anyone else experiencing the same problem? PLEASE MAKE A PATCH FOR GAMING LAPTOP USERS!
