Dual Band Scope

Almost every day, there is a new post about the Target Finder being over-powered or some complaints of some kind. Legitimately, if you are a camper, these are your worse nightmare because it can give your position away because there is a diamond surrounding you. Personally, I don't feel the beep is a big deal because unless I am not looking at my TV, I see you anyways.

So, if you have a problem with the Target Finder, think it's overpowered, should be nerfed or it's only for noobs to use, why don't you complain about the dual band scope?

In case you never used it, it adds a green tint to the background, and if you are not cold blooded, you are a bright orange color.

Now, you players who hate the TF, before you get your panties in a bunch, let me tell you, the Dual Band Scope is better than the TF for finding you. For example, on Carrier, if you are running behind a plane, if the enemy that is using the TF, they might see a Diamond behind the plane and wait for you to pop into the open. With the Dual-Band scope, I am going to see your foot under the plane, as plain as day and I shoot that, killing you, particularly on Hardcore games.

Also, with the Dual-Band scope, I can add Variable Zoom scope so now I got an ACOG scope that works better than the Target Finder and works like a sniper scope.

This isn't to argue about whether the Target Finder is over powered or what not, nor is it to argue about the Dual Band Scope either. But if something like the Target Finder upsets you, why doesn't this?

I actually use this setup quite often on Hardcore with a LMG on Carrier and a few other maps. It's a lot of fun and I love getting the final kill cam with it and funny enough, I never hear anyone say anything about it like they do with the TF. What am I missing? What don't I understand about this community?

The TF to DB is probably 100/1, and that's not an exaggeration

Although true, does usage (or lack of) skirt around the point?

A problem is a problem is a problem (assuming it is a problem).  When something is not exploited, I think : "We ll I am glad this is not used by many... " But the bottom line is it the same thing.

The only reason why the ratio is 100/1 is because the guns that can equipment the DB are 4 (LMGs as well?)... whereas the guns that can equip the TF is... well all of them safe from shotguns(? not sure cause I never use it... but sometimes I think I would like to lol)

I agree with the OP.  If I were to hate one over the other, it would be the DB because it is equipment on OHK weapons from (almost) anywhere on the map.

Re: Dual Band Scope

If the usage between the two where more equal I think the point would be more valid (not saying its not now) but since I completely forget the Dual Band scope is in the game because of how little I see it, I can't say complaining about would be on my mind as much as the TF which 3 people in every lobby are using while sitting in some dark corner of the map

Well one cannot ignore that... It is funny when everytime one gets killed they see there were in a triangle x-hair.

I remember once I was playing on turbine, and a smart sniper was moving around the map with a DB.  He killed me so many times because I could not see him but I was lit up like a xmas tree that I had to just laugh.

But Ironically, I did not complain as I see it maybe 1-2 times a week, instead of every 1-2 kill lol.

But my point remains... it goes to show that people do not complain about what is wrong or right..

They complain about what kills them (and it does not matter what it is)

Thanks rlbl for making that point.

Honestly the dual band is much better than the target finder, I put it on my LMg's sometimes and it's a headshot beast, it's also pretty fun to use, the only advantage the TF has is that it's a little better in CQC and it doesn't take away your mini map like the dual band does, it's weird though I don't see many people using the dual band, I guess it's because you can only use it on snipers and LMG's and it's the last unlock so you actually have to have some skill with the gun.

I agree, however with the LMG, you are already at a disadvantage in CQC unless you hipshoot, in which case the DB and TF are useless anyways.

Perhaps it is because I suck at this game but I never have a gun done by 2nd prestige level 16 and usually have to get about 5 blood thirstys so the DB scope helps with that.

I didn't mess around with the Dual Band until I had all my LMG's diamond but I wish I would have earlier because it would have greatly helped with the headshots, and long shots, you are right that you will lose any CQC gun fight with a LMG so the dual band doesn't hinder you therem but I feel that it does ADS fast at medium to long range with great accuracy. The only trouble using it or the LMG's in particular is finding something to take off to run a secondary.

The TF doesn't bother me.  But you are correct that the dual band scope which was the thermal scope in BO1 doesn't get any hate that I can tell.  My only guess as to why the TF does get it is because it's new.  Even though it is nothing more than a variant of the dual band which everyone is used to seeing and ultimately is more effective when you are trying to shoot feet as you've suggested.  Just think, last year you could have Marksman and a Thermal Scope on your gun but this year they've split it up into two attachments.  Ohh the horror!
