Mayday! Mayday!

So how do we take three days off of work if it's the weekend?

May Day, as in May 1st, as in today, is celebrated as Labour Day or International Workers' Day.

Typically other countries celebrate by taking several days off of work.

Oddly, the US doesn't follow this practice, even though the holiday originated from an incident in Chicago called the Haymarket Affair, a strike support rally that was bombed.

It is also an ancient rite of Spring holiday.

We don't have it off in imaginary land either. I know most European countries celebrate it. However, we have labour day in September, and they do not!

This year's Million Mexican March FAILed miserably.

There was some confusion as to whether it should be on May 1 or Saturday.

Also, there were calls to cancel it because of Swine Flu.

Naturally, that was refused as being racist.

Even if it wasn't about Mexicans, is it wise to crowd people together during a potential pandemic?
