Hey everyone, just a quick overview: Has anyone noticed a definite damage difference between explosive and armor piercing ammo?
I mostly play with explosive since I can deal damage even if my aim isn't the best (it isn't) and can take out a whole bunch of scouts with one burst and damage enemies on groups. I don't usually play with AP since I prefer the qualities of explosive I mentioned above and I haven't noticed a difference between the damage done between the two types. (note: the AP helping against armor doesn't score up much points since i aim for the weak spots)
So my question is this; Is there a difference in the damage done by explosive and armor piercing ammos?
If I use Armor Piercing, and am shooting an enemy in the armor plated areas, it seems to take more bullets to kill, than if I just use explosive and shoot it anywhere. SO I always use explosive ammo.
I've heard that the Armor Piercing does more damage to rhino's but thats the only benefit. Just like Incendiary does more damage to the main barriers.
That's definitely possible. However, Hunters have armor plated bits on their heads, right? So, it should make a big difference for those, too. Yet from my experience, it doesn't seem to. Incendiary to me is pointless, especially since I use the Death Machine. Much faster than any Gun + Ammo for the hives lol.
I find explosive is the most versatile and helpful when you get towards the end.
I guess though it depends on your weapon. I'm a sucker for the simple weapons as I find them most effective. I always get the AK 47 near the second hive at the start of the game and use it for the rest of the game.
It reloads pretty quick too, which is quite helpful towards the end of the game.
All those machine guns (and the chainsaw) while having great firepower, take an eternity to reload which is a pain if your being attacked by multiple aliens.
I use the same, along with the Honey Badger when I get to the cabin area. Those two are just great and it's always good to have 2 primary weapons, especially in that area for when you get swarmed with enemies. Switching weapon to another primary can make all the difference instead of reloading.
If you run the weapons class, and upgrade it to level four you get quick reload, or get some one to run the fast hands drop, however I don't think if you use both it doubles the effect.
Quick Reload is only 2 upgrades, isn't it, for Weapons Specialist... It has been every time I have used it (but that was ages ago - I can't not use Medic lol).
quick reload is the second to last, so the 4rd up grade or 4th position depending on how you look at it, the last one upgrades to 50 increased bullet damage, its the one before that lol
Ahh yeah, 3 upgrades (worth 2 skill points). To be honest I think that should be switched with the current final upgrade. Same goes for Medics in honesty. Resistance to scorpions gas clouds should be last, and what currently is the final upgrade, should be 2 points.
