Again I have never stated my stance on the morality of it. You are making assumptions on if I deem any of this  "right" or "wrong". That has nothing to do with the topic. When you're in the business of serving customers, the customer is always right. If you fuck something up and the customer takes advantage of it, it's on you not the customer. If you blame the customers for your shortcomings well you won't last long.

Yes, it actually does. So you go through life doing anything/everything you can until 'big brother' tells you otherwise??? You are such a sheep.

There is a difference between a merchant/provider making a mistake and the customer unknowingly getting an advantage of said mistake

vs

a merchant/provider making a mistake and the customer knowingly continues to exploit said mistake knowing full well what they are doing.

If someone finds a glitch (whether they report it or not) is one thing; if a person finds a glitch and constantly uses the glitch to their advantage, they are responsible and should pay the price.

I would be appalled if IW banned anybody for using a glitch their QA team missed. That's on them, not the people that did any of the glitches. Also it's not like IW intentionally was like, "Hey let's include this glitch for unlimited prestige tokens guys, it'll be hilarious!"

Ummm. There is a reason why they made you sign an agreement that you wont use any glitch you found. It puts the pressure on you.

There is no such thing as glitch free software.

When you signed in read and agreed to the Xbox Live Terms of use one of those agreements is that anything on Xbox Live is sold AS IS with all imperfections. If you did not agree then you could not use the service. Again you AGREED that you accept XBL faults and all.

You also agreed to THIS....(caps by MS not by me)

NO WARRANTIES. MICROSOFT, AND OUR AFFILIATES, RESELLERS, DISTRIBUTORS, AND VENDORS, MAKE NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, GUARANTEES OR CONDITIONS WITH RESPECT TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES. YOU UNDERSTAND THAT USE OF THE SERVICES IS AT YOUR OWN RISK AND THAT WE PROVIDE THE SERVICES ON AN "AS IS" BASIS "WITH ALL FAULTS" AND "AS AVAILABLE.

And the key point here....Do not exploit game vulnerabilities or glitches.

This has nothing to do with if its right or wrong. You agreed to not break the rules. You violate the policy you agree to and they can ban you. This is not a public random issue such as buying a bag of potato chips. ( BTW If I was told the price on the bag was 99 cents and it WAS higher, the manager still can tell you to pay the correct price if caught. If I dont agree with it I can refuse to stop shopping there, but he still has the rights to correct me on the price. The manager might be an ass but he still runs the store and makes the rules. He can do anything he feels is right INCLUDING refusal to sell you anything.)

But back to the real issue This is a private service that you agreed to the rules of. You did not agree then you cannot belong to part of their club. As a moderator once said you can buy a ticket but it doesnt buy you the right to run around naked thru the amusement park.

If you failed to read the terms or just didnt want to you still signed to the fact that you did SAY you read them. If you didnt read them then you lied and you are at fault.

So lets say you are a software developer, and one person cracks it so that no one has to buy your software anymore . Are you going to blame yourself that someone glitched your code to get it for free and you spent 10 million dollars to invent software that only sold to one person ? Or are you going to take those theives to court ? And dont say you wont sell it til the code is unbreakable because that will never happen. Even the highest price software out their is vulnerable to a crack or a keygen.

And BTW MS and Activision ban people daily for using exploits in their software, yet not a single person has ever been able to take them to court.

Using ANY glitch is a violation of both XBL (if you're on Xbox) TOU/COC and Activision's TOU.

To be honest, I hope a lot of boosting will be going on. My absolute favorite thing to do in MW2 was to just run around and go hunting for boosters. Boosters were basically a free double kill for everyone else who could find them. Damn the rage from all those kids was priceless.

Well it's a one on one match involving 10 bots so you wouldn't be able to get in their game lol.

Hopefully they add an system that recognizes the kill feed and automatically bans boosters that kill each other the most every match that way there is no hope for boosters. Or they could make it where you can't invite anyone to Squads vs Squads period either during the matchmaking or during the game just make it say it's always full.

I would think they would be able to monitor matches between two players and their prospective team bots, clocking how often they kill each other, setting off a red flag if the frequency appears too often for a legitimate match.

I think one way to get to boosters is to start taking away their XP. Re-locking weapons or whatever to push them back a level or two. That might be a way to get players to play the game as its designed.
