Hi, I haven't played COD since MW2.
I am having a lot of trouble deciding which classes are equal to my old classes. (I need help with this as I don't want to waste those points trying out all of the guns).
Which guns in Ghosts are equivalent to the M16 and MP5?
Which perks are equal to steady aim and stopping power?
MSBS is the only standard burst weapon in the game so I suppose you could call it the M16
I don't use SMGs but I find that the K7 and MTAR seems to be the most AR like SMGs
Steady Aim is actually in the game
Deadeye isn't too similar to Stopping Power as it's a percentage instead of a guarantee

The M16 hasn't been the most powerful burst AR since MW2 but the MSBS is more powerful as it's single burst kill to any vital area of the body. However, you can make any AR, MR, or SMG a burst weapon with an attachment or make the MSBS a full auto.
The MSBS's only down side is it's range, for a burst I would have expected more out of it.
Do you know which AR and SMG are most commonly used by the top MLG players?
I don't think very highly of MLG players so that's probably not the best question to ask me.

Burst fire weapons are a thing of the past due to the rate of fire nerf they have received. The MSBS is far to slow to be of any use. They did make it so you can make any AR burst fire but the fire rates are so slow they're useless and it costs an attachment. I think the weapons should simply have different fire modes to begin with.
Just a heads up. If you try to play this game like you played the older CoDs, you are in for a rude awakening.
I would mess about in Squads and see what guns you are comfortable with.
