Maybe it's just my imagination... or maybe I just never noticed it before, but the aim assist suddenly feels much more dramatic.
Was it changed recently?
Ideally, aim assist should only come into play WHILE I'm moving the right stick... have it augment the speed at which I aim to either catch up with or slow down for my target. But it should not move my reticle for me. If I am not touching the stick, there should be zero Aim Assist.
If I'm hard scoping a hole in a wall, I don't want another player who's running by to cause my aim to move and have me hit the wall instead of shoot through the hole.
If it's too hard to make Aim Assist smarter, can we at least get the option to turn it off?
If aim assist is in the game to make it easier, then there's really no downside to allowing a player to remove it.
Aim assist has always been like that. It will pull toward a player so much and can give away their position when they are behind something.
Well, it does seem like it they increased it's strength recently. What the OP is saying I thought about yesterday while playing. I just thought it was my imagination but if others have noticed this too, then there must have been some sort of change IMO.
If I'm not mistaken you can turn off Aim Assist in your options screen from the Multiplayer lobby.
i personally think it should be removed period
Consoles are not for hardcore gamers if you want it removed just goto pc where there is no aim assist.
Aiming on PC is as easy as pointing a mouse.
Some games mouse and keyboard provide a huge advantage, CoD isnt one of them.
gaming is gaming, you dont need to be a "hardcore gamer" to want no aim assist.. why would i go to PC? so i can spend a couple grand on a rig to run around getting destroyed by hackers? no im good
We haven't had any changes to aim assist.
