Hi there guys. I just started installing modern warfare 3 but as i start the installation, the installation gets stuck on,"Preparing call of duty:modern warfare 3- multiplayer files for install..." it has been stuck on the same installation page for a solid hour now with no luck. I have restarted the installation numerous times with the same thing happening over again. Could someone please let me know what the problem might be or how i can rectify it.
thanks so much,
I have exactly the same problem. Brand new retail pack for Christmas. Steam installation step is complete, but as soon as the disc install stage starts, I get:
Creating local game cache files....
Preparing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 - Multiplayer files for install...
Then nothing happens - left it overnight - still nothing. Internet connection is working.
I have heaps of disk space and 4Gb of memory and good graphics card.
Running Windows 7 Home Premium. Kaspersky Internet Security - latest version.
Me too! Tried to install yesterday 25th December and today 26th december... Exactly the same problem. I thought it had something to do with the fact that steam homepage was down yesterday, but not. Any ideas?? I have a new PC, i wanna play!!!
i got the same problem, windows 7... won´t install from disc.
Please reply with a solution. This problem is driving me nuts
I have same problem. Got brand new computer with great specs, and a copy of the game from target for Christmas.
been thinking about taking game back for exchange for another disc but I don't think it is going to fix problem.
i have tried everything I can think off to get it going with no luck.
contacted activision they didn't want anything to do with it and said its steam's problem.
sent an email to steam they havnt got back to me yet.
been looking through other forums and have found other people with same problem but no one has any answers.
i Only have 3G internet and can't download any big files.
i'm from germany and i bought the game today. i have the same problem...
maybe someone has the answer?
If there is so many of us all around same period perhaps it was a dodgy batch of game disks.
I got to be honest I'm very disappointed by level of support to try to get the game to load I have spent so many hours trying everything.
Ok i have spent all night mucking around and i have got it to work on my set-up without having to do a large download.
I am not going to post untill i can get someone else to test otherwise i would be posting a wild goose chase. If someone who wants to test please email me at email@example.com.
Once we confirm it works I will post up for anyone with same problem.
