Turtle Beach say their PS3 headsets should be compatible with PS4 but they also say that it is not 100% confirmed yet!!!
Buk, I don't know much about TB Headsets. I have ASTRO A50s. I confirmed with Astro Gaming that they would work with the PS4. ( he said, "if your Headset has a optical out like my ASTRO A50s, then it will work with the PS4" I asked in relation to a question a friend had about his different brand of headset
When you say optic cable or optical out, which cable do you guys mean? I have a basic set of TB's (P11's) and the only two wires i have for it are a USB into the console and the male connector that pushes into the headphone jack in the back of the TV, (i belive its the same type of connector that ipods use for their headphones).
Im guessing by the optical out cable etc i should be saving up for a new headset aswell but could anyone explain the optical cables further please?
You may be able to get a Optical accessory for your current Headset? It fits into the back of the PS4 and PS3.
Optical out provides bit-perfect transmission of your digital audio. Either 5.1 or 7.2 surround sound.
Maybe worth a phone call?
Thanks for the reply, ill definatly have a look into it, mind you i was thinking of upgrading them soon anyway so may just buy a new set when the PS4 launches
EDIT: I found on TB's website is this type of thing you were talking about or am i in completely thw wrong ballpark?
You need to make sure it is connected via a Optical Cable to the PS3/PS4 from that device in the photo.
They do. I have a dss1 and it utilizes the toslink cable (digital optical). The real question is will everything work with the new system. On ps3 you can book up your headset to the original Ps cables for sound. If everything ends up going through HDMI things could be strange for the headsets. I would wait a little while surridge and see.
I would think the actual problem might be how the headset connects to the controller rather than the audio out on the console.
