You could really say that these campers are just as dumb as the rushers who go back to the same spot every re-spawn to have a gun fight with the camper that keeps killing them.. and typically they will lose because the camper is already aiming down the sights...
I don't camp. I can't... it's boring. But if you're the type of rusher who lines up to be picked off by going back to the camper and not winning gun fights... then please get out of my lobby because you will annoy me just as much as the camper.
Arh.. the frustrated player who "must get that camper" even if it takes 74 deaths just to get him.
Funny how camping is soooooo terrible but rushing is somehow the only allowable way to play. Running at full speed up and down stairs, in and out of rooms, non-stop seems to be the only accepted way to play. Imagine if that was how war was really conducted, we'd all die from exhaustion. And quick scoping, while entirely unrealistic and unfair, seems to be OK as well. Camping is just another strategy in a game filled with glitches and errors. I'm a terrible shot, but in Ghosts I just have to wave the gun near a target and the player is dead with just a bullet or two. Has nothing to do with skill, just who sees who first. Not realistic.
Camping is terrible, especially ppl who camp in room and wait for ppl to come in the room to get a kill. They usually lay prone at the top of a stair waiting for somebody to come up or stay in some stupid low traffic part of the map doing nothing but waiting for a kill.
If a person is camping and he's helping the team win, I'm all for it. He's trying to help the team win and that's all you can ask for. But those other campers not only ruin the game, but they don't give you a chance to win if they are on your team.
As for rushers, good rushers don't go around running all over the place. They pick their spots, clean up and move on. Those idiots that run around and killed because they are all out in the open are not rushers. Those are ppl who watch a lot of youtube see what good players are doing and try to mimic that style when is reality is not what it seems.
I'm all of ppl trying to play to win the game, whatever style it is.
As a camper, I'll say that I don't camp in corners or staircases. I camp by defending high traffic areas, primarily Dom flags since I want to do my team a favor by holding the objectives. I usually do a good job holding it down, but the rest of my team usually rushes for more flags. If my team loses and I did a good job defending, the rest of my team is responsible for capturing. Also, the Loki killstreak really helps out your team.
Bad campers use specific corners or staircases, good campers do the worm squirm and hold down rooms or buildings.
Hey, I don't mind how people play, that's totally up to them. I'd almost thank the rushers just the same.. my preferred style of play is to strategically hunt down the other team getting as little deaths along the way. I love sneaking around, hunting people down and outwitting my opponent and always say a quiet "well played mate" when someone gets the better of me.
I just don't see the fun of sitting in a corner hoping someone will run past - these examples are the extreme but I've seen people on my team tucked away and ending up with a 2 for 0 at the end.. sure overall they'll contributed to the win (just about) and not given away any points but it's got to be boring surely? The same goes for those who go all Rambo running around like a headless chicken.. it's gotta get frustrating getting floored so much, if you rush about and finish a game 20 for 20, have you really accomplished anything?
I only camp on certain bigger maps, because, well, everyone else is and me rushing would be sort of target practice for them in all logical terms lol those couple of maps I will hold down a grass flat or a nearby rock mound, I'm typically referred to in a bad light by rushers... I say, if you're going to camp a map, be good at it... not a dark corner, not a distant rooftop, no sir... lay right flat out in the open with a bolt action sniper and infuriate 2.0+ k/d players that typically rush (like I usually do) to the point they cut the cords to their Xbox's and throw them out the window
We have a portion of our clan now that plays only core based modes... and some were prior sh*t-talkers against us from their last clan... couple are like you, and I love them for it, just wreck a whole enemy corner camping team. Last night we played core, and he was all BS talking on us HC boys lol Core TDM, Octane, ends with me as MVP at 31 and 4, I was running specialist... this repeats itself for the next three matches and he starts to ask me why I don't play core... or at least play it more often.. I tell him because I like infuriating core-pro's like you when you come play my gametype with a cocky attitude lol we are now friends and he plans on inviting me to run core modes during our Clan Wars with his usual crew in our clan
There shockingly aren't very many people that are good at BOTH Core and Hardcore... usually you get locked into one and the other is like a night to day transition... I just consider Core a situation where people are "slightly" superhuman in that they can take way more damage than any real person ever could... so I shoot higher... lol.
when I rush, my k/d either climbs drastically, or plummets into the dark recesses of the earth dramatically.. when I camp, I simply maintain that k/d, but it rarely goes anywhere... so camping is more for maps like Stonehaven where I'm just going to pick off 10-12 people that think running clear across the map is a 'good' idea... lol bout it for me
Lets be honest, campers are a great source for final lulz-cams. Gotta love when some oblivious soul has had the living daylights teabagged out of him, or someones managed to shadow them around their 'spot' for ages before knifing them in the back
I'll pitch up a tent every now and again, but if someone repeatedly 'no buenos' me, I'll happily change tac. I'm a pretty sucky camper anyway
Yeah, unless it's clearly a sniper map, I don't have the patience to sit anywhere for very long lol
Though I do like using agility and dead silence to, as you put it, shadow people for ridiculous knife kills... especially for the game winner
Love finding that deep in a dark corner laying on his chest on a small map camper, sitting right beside him as the final few kills (or seconds) of the game tick off.. wait for it.. wait for it.. knife for the last kill
Those are typically followed with "How'd you find me?" which is answered by "Dude, I sat there for two minutes and waited just so you'd be on the B*tch Cam, bro" lol
