Bah. Would've personally wanted to see the return of claymores or bouncing betties rather than these. It's more the fact that it's a bouncing betty that can't be dodged like a bouncing betty irks me more.

Honestly, IEDs should be more like bouncing betties. They should be avoidable or super under powered. They do nothing good for the game play. They make it easier to camp and get random kills. People always sit in a room/corner with IEDs around them.

And for those attacking my skill level - very mature. There's a good reason IEDs are banned in MLG. They promote skill-less kills, camping, and a lack of map awareness.

I think the IED needs balancing.  What was fair about the bouncing betty was that it was avoidable, yet gave the person using the betty a warning that the explosive was triggered, so the person would have a chance to prepare to defend themselves.

Additionally, if you knew how to place a betty (i.e. on a uneven surface) it would counter a ducking opponent.  I think if they just made the noise more audible before exploding that would be fair enough for me.  Maybe make that linked up to Amplify, it makes sense that you should be able to hear the IED better when equipped with that Perk, but it doesn't.

Betties were underpowered, and I think IEDs are just the true improved versions of the old betties. IEDs promote nothing, they are simple explosives that people ***** about because they don't want to use sitrep or blastshield. As for saying IEDs are "skill-less", define skill.

IEDs are meant to kill, and they do a good job at it depending on where you placed it. It's not the IEDs that should be balanced, it's your class setup (BLAST SHIELD, SITREP, IT'S THAT EASY). What? your Bouncing Betty is evolving! Conglaturation !! your Bouncing Betty evolved into IED!

The IED makes campers overpowered when they go into rooms with 1 entry way like above the bakery in Warhawk.  Sit Rep will let you know the IED is there, but it wont delay the explosive, so a camper is still free to sit in the room safely.

With Blast Shield you are safe to breach the room from the IED itself, but then afterwards you are a weakened one shot easy kill.

I think why the IED upsets a lot of the community is because its a weapon that necessitates a person to equip a certain perk to survive it.  A weapon that doesn't require the user to Aim (no skill involved), or have any interaction except to place the IED in a high traffic area.

I do run Blast Shield in my Specialist Bonus, and I do run the IED myself in one of my classes.  But that doesn't mean I don't think its overpowered.

I am concerned and think a nerf is in order due to how many COD fans are dropping or skipping Ghost because they think its a slow campy game.  I've spent a lot of time playing and learning this game, and I don't want to see it die.

There are two entries to that room, you can climb in the window.

I'm not sure that there is a room in any map with only one entry, it's just the second entry is not always obvious.

To jump into that window on Warhawk on top of the Bakery requires you to make two difficult jumps that take a lot of time to execute.  Most people will be dead by time they are on top of the tank.  Additionally, you'd then have to go in thru the window, where your enemy is going to most likely be pointing his gun.

Well, with regards to the Warhawk example, I'd toss a few nades in there. Failing that I'd resort to DC tubing through the window, lets see em survive that.

That being said, its not uncommon for me to post up in the opposite window with a thermal sight and patiently pick off anyone who wants to get up there. Sometimes, the best counter is to do what they do better than them. No-one tends to bother with that window once they've repeatedly been shot within a second of edging round the corner. If they do insist on running back time after time, its just easy killstreaks for me!
