1st topic... Support Package... will it be abused by vets versus help the greenie?

Modern Warfare 3 Forum

It could pose some problems for sure.

I can see me using this for my shotgun running class because it would be very beneficial. Especially since it doesn't reset when you die.

Not counting using hardline or points for assists and such...

Get to UAV in 4 kills, most of the enemy will be visible on the radar

Get to Blackbird in 12 kills, everyone is visible.

Get to Escrot drop at 18, have a chopper in the air and a few care packages to choose from.

All the while still running around at full speed, not worry about dying because hey, it doesn't reset until you get to 18.

So the rounds where I go 34-2, That's a lot of UAV's, probably at least 2 blackbirds and almost 2 escort drops. Without even really trying because like I said, it doesn't reset, so just keep running and gunning until you hit 18.

Exactly... the player who struggles to get kills will still struggle to get higher rewards. The better player can struggle one game and still rack up the higher KS...

Osprey inbound...

Poor greenie.

That's my opinion but it should be yours ;-),

They did not design the support strike package for beginners/greenies... not sure where you got that idea.  It's for the objective players/team players who care more about winning than their own K/D, and want to be rewarded for playing the objective.  I think the support and assault packages are pretty balanced with each other - one wont really help you more than the other.  However seasoned vets would probably be more attracted to the assault package anyways, the risk of getting huge body counts or no killstreaks at all is more exciting.

I'm not at all concerned about the support package.  yes we'll see a lot of stealth bombers but those only last a few seconds, they aren't like helicopters that hang around for a whole minute.  Plus they were so weak in MW2 anyways.  I'll admit the remote turret seems very powerful but I think 1 EMP grenade takes it out, however the Escort Airdrop could be a problem because it can drop assault killstreaks.  The rest of them wont really directly get you many kills.

Simples...

The game has slowly shifted towards making it an easier time for those new to the game. Think the introduction of a Care Package. You get the chance at the high end KS with far fewer kills.

Now you have a "strike package" that rewards players for just getting kills... not in a row... just kills. And is this strike package available only in "objective games"? No. This is mainly geared toward the new and/or lesser skilled player.

That's the price of progression.

A good player... even in objective games... is going to get his kills and caps/defends. You give him the benefit of being able to be even more aggressive and still get an Escort Airdrop without having to worry about dying...?

Bye, bye greenies.

like i said the majority of the support rewards are not even lethal, and if they are, they are not very powerful for the amount of kills required to get them.

I have to agree with Hollywood here.

They aren't doing much damage to the opposition. They aren't racking up kills, they're primary a support tool.

I primary run Spy Plane, Counter and Blackbird in Black Ops which I'm not really doing much damage to the opposition, I'm primary a support tool for my team.

I'm doing the same for MW3 with UAV, Counter UAV and Advanced UAV + being a supportive objective player. I'll win alot more games but I won't rack up 50+ kills.

It's not all passive or pure support...

5 Kills – Ballistic Duffel – Drop Juggernaught perk for the whole team, not jugg suit

10 Kills – Remote [Missile] UAV – Target enemies with missiles

12 Kills – Remote Turret – Sentry Gun that you can control

12 Kills – Stealth Bomber

18 Kills – Juggernaught Recon Armour – Care Package Drop Armour

18 Kills – Escort Airdrop – Same as the Osprey Gunner but you dont control the gunner or chopper and Drops 5 care packages, one will be hacked.

It is not going to be hard to get 10-18 kills/pts.

... and give Jugg to 3-4 good players at a time and this package will be deadly in the hands of vets and dominate the greenies... simples.

I guess we'll have to wait and see.

From the players who went to COD XP, it would be nice to know how often some of these point streaks you pointed out were called in per match. (Juggernault, Stealth Bomber etc)

As an objective player, I'm all for the support package. It balances out slayers and supportive team players. I'd rather be killed by a player who managed to attain a Stealth Bomber over a player who kills me with an AC-130.

It's IW way of making sure that air support won't dominate the match compared to MW2.

Ballistic Vests...how much extra health do you get?

Not that powerfull you say, lets see your take on this when you encounter mr killwhore with his remote turret which ive heard lasts untill the enemy team takes it out and you can hop in and out of it throughout the game untill it gets taken out (thats 5+ kills right there if placed in a good enough spot) then the stealth bomber (if placed well again could weild you 3+ kills everytime and people will get good at placing them because they will earn them more than in previous games) Then the almighty escort airdrop comes and gives you a couple of kills while unloading 4 CP and a Bobby trapped one (well we all know some of those E- drops in MW2 could give 25+ kills quite easily and more often than not 10+ kills) i dont need to add that up to see that 18 points will reward you with another 18 kills at least on the scoreboard.

The fact they allowed someone to run 3 lethal killstreak in this package is stupid and along with QS the escort airdrop is the most stupid decision they made with the game

it probably will be abused....as i quite easily go over 50 kills in a objective game mode not even camping...and with the killstreak rollover and start again...ill just keep getting more kills
