Face Off and Map Sizes

I went through the 4 new maps with an XM25 and measured the length and width as well as I could, and here's what I got:

Erosion - 59x67

Aground - 73x81

Getaway - 53x66

Lookout - 53x78

The map layouts aren't in Elite yet, but here are some comparisons I did with maps we already have:

Hardhat: 82x76

Bakaara: 120x74

Dome: ~80

Piazza: ~100

So these new maps are smaller, but not that much smaller.  In fact Aground is almost the same size as Dome.

Is there a way to measure map sizes in CoD4 or MW2?  Anyone know how to compare these to Shipment and Rust?

Also, they're getting carried away with the fall-off-the-edge-of-the-map-and-die thing.  Two of the Face Off maps along with Oasis, Sanctuary, Piazza and Overwatch all have places to fall off and die.

If you want to make a case for these being available for 6v6, post this in the MW3 Title Update and Hotfix Note thread. Ghandi, a dev, will likely respond. It's good to have measurables like that to make your case, as well.

From what I have played of the maps so far, they are clearly bigger than some "small maps" in previous titles; namely rust and nuketown.

Just doesn't make sense why they restricted them, at least make them playable in TDM.

My gut feeling is even with all the community requesting them to go into the regular 6v6 game modes, they probably won't.  Or at least not for a while.  Doing so would admit that Face Off was a mistake.  Instead they'll blindly continue to promote it, despite what everyone wants because they'll never publicly admit that they're doing things wrong.  From a business standpoint they'll think it'll get people to lose faith in their decision making skills as a company. 

I think what they don't realize is most of that faith is already gone.

Agreed 100%. Black Ops had there Gun Game, Sticks and Stones, etc. on all the maps with areas blocked off. Wonder why IW didn't do that here?
