I second this post. Infinite tubes huh? Maybe if you had scavenger and EVERYONE in the match had tubes and died with at least one on them then yes. But no one does, you wouldn't believe the amount of times someone has tried tubing me in game and all I did was poke around and shoot them in the face with my golden ACR. I can honestly say I have died from a tube less than 10 times and I am level 80.
Also with the lawyer.... You can't sue them for anything.
You: *calls lawyer* "Omg they said they nerfed noob tubes and they clearly didn't, I want to sue them for millions."
Lawyer: "um.... whats a noob tube?"
You: "Its a grenade launcher attachement for an assault rifle in the game Call of Duty."
Lawyer: "er... So let me get this straight, you want to sue Activision because IW said they "nerfed noob tubes" but your getting killed by them all the time?"
Lawyer: "BAHAHAHAHAHAHA" *hangs up*
let me explain why the lawyer wont work.....
this game has 3 options of play Special Ops, Campaign, and Multiplayer. both the Special Ops and Campaign come automatic for you to play whether you have Xbox Live or not. Multiplayer is an OPTIONAL service. It is optional because it is not an automatic service and you dont have to play it. If you want to play it you pay Microsoft to use the Live service in order to gain access to the Multiplayer service. IW didnt even have to put the Multiplayer in it. As long as the Campaign and Special Ops are in working order, there is no case that can be brought against anyone.
hence the reason for my saying its an empty threat.
You still have yet to tell me how to get unlimited noob tube ammo..... You do realize that you don't get more ammo from Scavenger unless the person your scavenging from had noob tube ammo on them right? And that's not at all, they actually had to die with ammo still on them.
As for the Javeline, I thought it was vehicle lock on only? I know they changed some things about it, and I personally have never used it (I am a stinger kind of person) so I could be wrong about that. But that would bring me to my first point. They have to die with ammo of that gun to get it back, the only thing that rule doesn't apply to is your primary and secondary guns (attachments not included).
It was a reference to problems in the last title by IW. If you didn't play MW2 from the release date, then you have no idea what I'm talking about.
I don't have to worry about getting a lawyer for myself. Wake up, Huckleberry, this is the United States of America - where people sue because their coffee is too hot and WIN.
The game, as advertised, states there is a multi-player aspect of the game. In fact, the entire gaming world would argue that the number one reason people buy a Call of Duty titled game is for the multi-player aspect.
Any reasonable person would expect to be able to play the game on a fair basis. When software companies of any kind sell the license to use their product, anyone that purchases that license has a reasonable expectation that the software is, for the most part, free from easy hacks and free from easy and volumnous modifications by third parties. With gaming software, users have a reasonable expectation no one else will be capable of using the software in a manner not available to them in a normal, legal environment.
So, KTPheonix, you're absolutely right: they did not have include a multi-player aspect of the game. But they did and they marketed it for primary use as a multi-player game.
Right now, as long as they fix crap like the controller button BS ... they're fine. But they're only going to be forgiven for a finite amount of problems like this. A small finite amount. Otherwise, they are ticking class action waiting to happen.
All of that said, while there was an avalanche of players with the glitch playing for an hour or so, I haven't seen any since shortly after creating this thread.
So hopefully the screw up has been fixed.
(though this incident is causing me to consider becoming impatient regarding the Elite disaster that has yet to fully unfold).
I am absolutely amazed you know how to correctly use the word "you're" ... because you're an illiterate imbecile.
Where did I say anything about having a right to play a game the way I wanted to?
When someone advertises one thing and fails to deliver the good or service as promised, that is false advertising you baboon.
Someone please tell me how to close this thread. I can't stand the stupidity any longer.
I never said anything about wanting any part of the game buffed or nerfed.
RichJ - you're flaming idiot. I don't even know wtf you're referencing by "Q&A's don't count by the way." WTF? This isn't a Question & Answer forum/thread. Any questions that are asked are rhetorical in nature and answered in like form. Other than that, as far as Q&A goes, you must have gotten this thread confused with another. Big surprise there ...
Because all I said was that if this game, Modern Warfare 3, has the amount of severe problems that Modern Warfare 2 had, "lawyers are going to get involved."
I didn't even threaten to go get a lawyer myself, you buffoon.
Nonetheless, I stand by everything I said.
And to make the point clearer, I'll tell you about a conversation I overheard between other players last night - a conversation in which I said NOTHING at all, not before, not during, not after:
"That's how it started with modern warfare 2" - player 1
"Oh, I know - it's total bull shyt" player 2
"Well I'm not going to put up with it this time. You litte f**ks keep f**king up the game for everyone else." player 1
"That stupid controller button f*g *ss sh*t"
And that conversation continued on during and between matches. Among the comments was my exact sentiment:
"I'm surprised they f**king idiots haven't been sued over this sh*t yet"
Look through the threads. I saw another person wanting to know which "agency" to call about the hacking and modding. The person was irate about the inaccurate leader boards (which are inaccurate because of another glitch, not because of hacking or boosting).
I did not say that there were full auto, infinite tubes or that the javelin was acting as an insta-kill weapon ---- I said that "any hour now, there will be"
Those of us that hung in there with Activision through all that bullshyt know what the allusion was to. All those that actually have reading comprehension skills know what allusion, metaphor, simile, hyperbole, understandment, etc is. If you don't then maybe you need to go back to school.
The bottom line is this:
Quirks and glitches are expected. Maybe there's a few of us that "overreact" to a clan tag glitch, but if you're truly critical, ask yourself "why such a harsh reaction to a seemingly mild glitch?"
The answer is VERY simple: because that exact same glitch was symbolic of the issues with Modern Warfare 2. For those of you that forgot or simply don't know, here's the short list:
- controller button clan tags
- inaccurate, boosted leaderboards
- several "outside the match" glitches
- several days of infinite grenade launcher (under barrel as well as thumper)
- full auto grenade launcher (which worked in conjunction with the infinite ammo)
- full auto 105 mm canon on the AC130
- super-speed lobbies
and the list goes on and on.
So yeah, myself and others have a knee-jerk reaction to a "harmless" glitch.
The ONLY reason many players took a chance with MW3 is because Black Ops, for all its "lacking," at least seemed to do a very good job of getting rid of the cheaters. I can handle a little lower quality in graphics ...
... I cannot tolerate hacks and cheats. And I don't think I'm alone in feeling that way.
edit - RichJ, reading your original post about GLs ... please READ all of my posts. I did not say anything about infinite ammo GLs in MW3. Nonetheless, obviously you did not play MW2 from day one. So let me explain it to you in terms you can understand:
For several days there were several servers that had been hacked. Among the mess that was created was a hack that allowed your grenade launcher to fire grenades - with all their explosive power - NON-STOP. There was no "re-supply" part of it. If you had a GL as an attachment, you simply switched to the GL when you spawned then held down the trigger and walked forward. As long as you kept your finger on the trigger, grenades kept firing. You did not need the Scavenger perk to do this - it worked for ANY grenade launcher, the only difference was that the Thumper had a lower rate of fire.
Does that help clarify things for you??
im pretty sure in any cod you only pay for the campaign, so you cannot sue or anything for anything online in any cod, if there was a problem in the campaign then you could get your lawyers involved.
Again, I never said I was calling my attorney. I said that lawyers would get involved. Slight difference, but big difference. The inference is that SOMEONE will not be as patient as myself.
In any case, got to this link:
and then tell me how many times you see the words "single player" and how many times you see the word "multiplayer."
After you put two and two together, look at it from another point of view:
You buy a Ferrari directly from the factory. You pull out on the freeway expecting to go 175 mph ... but discover it won't go more than 25 mph. Now, you're right: you can't get mad because it won't go 175 mph ... but why would you be upset if it won't go 25 mph?
Because you have a reasonable expectation of something the Ferrari can and should be able to do.
The same applies to any product or service you pay for. There are reasonable expectations of what that product or service should be able to do.
It's just a video game, a form of entertainment - whining about it isn't going to make this any better for yourself.
When you see a movie trailer on TV, and it looks really good, and then you go see it and it is horrifiyingly terrible, do you ever manage to get your money back? No, you move on and make sure others don't do the same as you did.
If you don't like the way this game is played, sell it to someone who will enjoy it.
The reason the clan tag buttons exploit hasn't been fixed yet is most likely because they need to figure out why it is doing so, and find out how to undo it. As well as getting it through Microsoft, if they need to do so. It's only been showing up for about two days, it isn't a big deal so they don't put it at top priority.
I remember getting put in a match with the auto GL glitch and it was insane every person was just firing random noob tubes all over the place and after a minute or two I quit. Another more serious one was where one team got a bunch of xp while screwing the other team with negative xp, and an even more severe one was if you got stuck in a 10th prestige lobby and ended up with everything in the game. Not only risking ban but ruining the experience for said pl;ayer since part oif the fun is the persistent unlocking of goodies.
