    Recording In-game =(V)=

Okay, so I know to record in-game you type /record in the consol and to stop you type /stoprecord, where the files are saved, and (now) how to replay them.

But how do I convert them into a different file (If this is possible)

You have to first install software like FRAPS (it is free but limited to 30 s of recording).
To be able to see recorded demo you have to type /demo "name of file" (without ""). If you want to convert this demo to AVI you need to run FRAPS then run demo and in the interesting moment press F10 (or other key defined in FRAPS for starting). You will get huge file. To compress it you can use XVID or Windows Movie Maker.

It is short but if you dig in the net you will find more precise info.

          Alex ;)

Apparently you can only play them while running a mod, such as ModWarfare that comes with the game, so you have to move the demo files into the mod's demos folder and run them via the mod. For example put them into "Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare\Mods\ModWarfare\demos" and then load up ModWarfare and type "/demo filename.dm_1" into the console.

              simple and quick record function.

stick this in your mp_config. copy and paste it somewere before hand just in case.

press backspace to start and stop.
              seta demo_start "record; set demo_tog vstr demo_stop"
              seta demo_stop "stoprecord; set demo_tog vstr demo_start"
              seta demo_tog "vstr demo_start"
              bind BACKSPACE "vstr demo_tog"

this works a treat and you dont have to use the dam console.

not true. when you play the demo back it just starts the game and dosnt use any mods what so ever. it starts your game and loads the demo just like you were in game playing.
just you dont control what you see. unless you use cod4player or siesmovision3.

              enjoy.
