It seems to me, based on what's been written here, that anyone who is standing still and aims down the site is camping.  That said, almost all snipers are campers, anyone who crouches or goes prone is camping, defenders are campers, most noob-tubers are camping, anyone who uses a stationary Lethal like a Betty or C4 is also a camper.  Since I'm really old and can't ru at the san and shoot at the same time, so I am, of course, camping too (which I usually am).

I wonder why they even put the option to stop, squat, go prone, or choose long-range guns like sniper rifles and LSG's in the game in the first place?

Izjar- You nailed it!  They should take out the ability to stop running in the game altogether and THAT will solve everyone's "camping issues!

              LOL

              ISSUE RESOLVED!

Now, let's see what else everyone's gonna ***** about now.

The thing about all CoD games is the whole set up of the game, the maps, the streaks, the perks, playing solo or with friends etc. they demand a certain style of play to be really successful.  The trick of a good player is to quickly understand the style required and adapt to it.

In W@W the maps were set up for a camping style of play, a lot of large open areas where you could pick off people trying to move about.

MW2 was a bit of a mix where you could choose to camp or run about and either way be successful.

BO1, well less said the better for me.  The whole experience is one I'd like to forget because the game just never ran well enough for me to really enjoy it whatever I tried.

MW3 was more of a runners game in my experience.  There were plenty of hiding spots on most maps but generally the maps were too small to be a good camper for too long a period.  Of course you had three types of kill streaks which could help you decide which route you wanted.  Only my experience, but I found if you used support or specialist you could happily run about and not be too concerned about dying (not that it should worry you anyway, it is only a game).

BO2 is definitely a runners paradise.  Not only are the maps small, but the SMGs dominate and are quick easy kills while continuously moving.  I am often surprised though by the number of players I see who try to camp it out.  They invariably end up on the losing side, and if they're on my side, because I play domination (where you need to move to cap flags folks!) then I just leave the match and find a lobby where people want to play the game.

I should emphasise that when I talk about a runner, I'm not talking about a headless chicken.  I mean someone who is always moving about, but with a brain as the engine.  A brain that knows when to hit the brakes and slow down to get the kill/cap.

Bottom line is, know how best to play the game as a whole, and adapt your style to fit what works best.  If it means camping then do it.  If it means running then do it.  If it means people call you names, let them, who cares?

I thought that the sensible camper explanation involved nothing more than the players that sit in a corner and hard ADS the SINGLE EGRESS to that point, anything else is just holding a position. A guy alternating between two entry ways is just holding the position. At any time these players can be flanked, doesn't work that way with a true camper.

                  • 86. Re: The case against the word "camper" part II. Or Deux! :)

I read all the posts in this thread - it was interesting.  I don't think anyone has mentioned sensor grenades for finding campers in core.  They are beast in this game, they give you the direction they are looking and as far as I can tell Ghost doesn't cancel them.  Toss one in likely camping zones, and poof, you beat them.  If a team is campy set up a class for that.

If you can't adapt to another players style it is your problem, not theirs.

Its not their problem you need 3 attachments and 4 perks and have no room for tacticles in at least one of your load outs...

This game is full of wieners who would rather complain and call people out instead of trying to beat them at their own game.  Its sad.

I don't like Fox news either, but the article makes some very good points. Being ignorant is probably the campers biggest defense mechanism. I imagine most campers are immature young adults who haven't yet become anything in life and seek cheap pleasure at any means necessary. Have fun camper, you're not even close to being on my level.

You didn't buy the MP so you can't say that.

You have a vivid and slowly developed imagination, perhaps watching junk on FOX has affected your cognitive response because what you wrote is the equivalent of stepping on a cockroach, and thinking ahhh $hi-t.
