I called in Dogs just the other day and only got 2 kills from them. No the other team didn't quit. Sometimes we just get unlucky with our killstreaks. I've seen AGRs get knocked out as soon as they hit the map but I've also seen them rack up the kills. EMP grenades are fine as is. I understand your frustration but I think that you've let it get the better of you. When your equipment gets destroyed by an EMP grenade you get a warning message. So unless you are counting on that equipment to get you the kill and not have to use your gun, you should still have an easy kill waiting for you because you will know what direction the enemy is coming from.
PS: Most of the guns in the game have decent iron sights which aren't affected by EMPs. Using them will lessen your need to run Hardwired.
I take pleasure in saying im "that guy". I run 2 emp nades, scavenger, plus engineer. If i see any red on the map i take it out in just a few seconds. Its a great piece of tac equipment. And yeah, i spam the crap out of it. It can get me emp assit points plus disable your hud, and if you are using a eo tech ,reflex,acog,hybrid optic, it takes that away from you plus your hud , letting my teammates take advantage of you. If 2 or 3 guys like to camp in one room or area of the map with bettys and shock charges, i can rack up 200-300 points with one emp by taking out your "well placed" equipment. All equipment destroyed, Rc-Xd, HKD's when timed right. Sentry,Guardian, Dragonfire, Agrs(2 required), Plus taking away your HUD, which comes in handy if the enemy has called in a Orbital Vsat taking away you and your teammates mini map. Great little tool for racking up points and further helping my team by taking away your scorestreaks. Plus i shoot down all scorestreaks within 5 secs of them being called in (minus the lodestar,vtol warship,those take 3 missles to take down) And i get the ocassional warthog(tricky to lock on to sometimes). But yeah, Im "that guy" - You mad bro? lol
Some people might say reduce the time it affects the player..... I say no because you can still run from cover unlike the concussion with also has a long affect time but if you get hit my one you're a sitting duck. Though having your mini map away does suck.
Only thing I'd like done is the blast radius reduced. I used it when doing the no attachment challenge because I didn't have a suppressor... EVERY time I would randomly throw it up in the air I'd get a hitmarker.
EMP grenades are definitely not overpowered at all. They're not that good against scorestreaks, AGR takes two hits, not one to kill with an EMP grenade. Dragonfires aren't easy to hit because you have to get the angle and distance right so if anyone manages to do that they deserve it. Lastly, the hud effect doesn't really work on da players with their aim assist. it works fine on wii mote players but since they're not very common. So in conclusion EMP grenades look great on paper but in practice they're not that good, the black hat is more powerful with the ability to shoot down lodestars and vtols.
If you want to talk about overpowered tacticals, you have to do it in this order:
1. Shock charges.
2. Concussion grenades.
3. Flash grenades.
4. Emp grenades.
AGRs take two EMPs to kill, one will just stun them for a moment. That's fair. Just because you earned a killstreak doesn't mean enemy players should be left with no defense or recourse against it.
Shock grenades are ****ing everywhere and they electroctue and stun you. Concussions render you UNABLE TO MOVE FOR FIVE WHOLE ****ING SECONDS. Flash grenades completely blind you for just as long. If an enemy hits you with one of these, they can pretty much walk up and smack you to death freely.
All EMPs do is destroy the annoying mazes of booby traps campers lay all over the map and maybe stun a killstreak for a few seconds. Not overpowered.
