    Thoughts on "Mayday"

      so to all the people who were complaining that nightfall is too hard wait until you see mayday...for one the boss "kraken" makes the breeder look like a scout and the spaces are alot smaller...also the trap systemsseems to be a little harder...wonder what the go to loadout will be on this new extinction mode

          I think it will be catered to multiple loadouts, with no single one being the best to use. I hope that's the case anyway. POC was basically a case of everyone be Medic. Then NF basically made us need an Engineer, so hopefully Mayday will make Tank or WS useful.

           

          Not sure if I am missing something but, the only part of the Kraken I have seen is from the Intel/Trailer, where it shows its head under water with a few other little creatures/aliens around it. IS there a new video showing it in full or something? If there is a link would be cool.

           

          The trap system looks like it's portable, or at least in a part of the trailer it looked like he moved a trap. Maybe I am mistaken though.

            I loved weapon specialists on poc and medic for nightfall since the scorpians can be overwhelming at times ...I'm really hoping they come out with a new class for it and maybe another relic where u reload ur gun slower or something like that

                People thought Nightfall was hard, it probably wont let up the difficulty for the next episodes. Maybe by the final episode, the difficulty will be raised so high that it will truly separate the hardcore and the casual. Brace for mayday.

                  Does it look like there will be no seekers on Mayday? I really hope not. I know it has seeders... but it'd be great if there were no meteors and seekers finally lol.

                      since the map is on a ship which is mostly indoors i would expect there to be no seekers since they cant spawn a meteor but the seeders take their place along with being able to upgrade the venom x to a purple venom and i think they changed the button to buy weapons and pick up the drill/set traps which is much needed for the update

                          That's what I thought for the meteors, but you never know. They seem to love giving lots of those little buggers, so I thought maybe they'd have found a different way for them to come.

                           

                          I justw ant to see what the new boss is like and how to defeat it. I seriously can't wait for this map.

                        It will be interesting to see if things like the motar strike/trinity rockets are effected. I haven't really used them but assuming they can’t penetrate it would render them virtually useless. Moreso than usual anyway.

                            ssucks I'm a ps guy so I have to wait till May but my Roomate has xbox so maybe ill get to use ito when he's not on bf4

                              i thought it too first. at least for the first hives.

                              but in the trailer it seems that the kraken is at a medium/long distance from the boat and for sure players will have some troubles to get closer to him , encircle it and attacking from differents sides.

                              maybe trinity rochets and motar should be more usefull for the final battle?

                                  It would make sense IMO. Lets be fair all that ever gets used is the sentry/vulture. I get a little bored of using them all the time but find that the others just dont quite cut it when needed. It would be good to see people having to change a loadout more instead of always seeing sentries/vultures.

                                      I see IMS quite a lot too, especially on Nightfall. They are very useful when you get swarmed - which can happen very easily, and the IMS are cheap enough. It definitely would be good to be "made" to use the mortar and trinity though, or at least someone in the team.

                                          I agree that IMS can be handy in a tough situation but too many people lay them down at the beginning of hives, get a total of 4 kills (if somebody hasn't got them first) then moan about not having money for ammo/TB. Similar to the IMS are the team explosives. NEVER get used. Lets hope mayday 'forces' us, to a point, to reconsider our loadouts.

                                              Hahaha yeah they do. Though I did that as well when I first started using the IMS.

                                              Now I know to only really use one at the later stages, or to use it when in danger. It's also useful sticking them where the cryptids spawn - be it from under ground, or when you're in the facility and they come out of those windows on the groundfloor.

                                               

                                               

                                              Yeah, I don't even use explosives even when I am an Engineer. Though I do see some Engineers use them, but it is rare.

                                              I prefer team boosters over explosives, even when I am engineer.

                                      In NF using team explosives was like asking to fail IMO. With BA/Ferals/TB being so vital in NF using random supplies or explosives just wouldnt really cut it. In mayday id certainly like to see these bits become more significant. Perhaps throwing explosives into the kraken could cause critical damage or stun it.

                                       

                                      Im sure IW have plans to include these loadouts more with upcoming maps otherwise really what was the whole point of having them present except to give the illusion of choice lol
