So, will be released for 360 after all.

    nicedrewishfela

All reports thus far have been stating they are focusing on Next Gen Consoles and PC for this title.

But the presence of this Sub-Forum is a clear indication that the game will, in fact, be released on the 360 Platform.

My question to everyone is... do you think it will be worth getting? My concern is that the 360 version will be an afterthought, perhaps even farmed out to another developer like Titanfall was by ReSpawn (Though I did hear the other Dev did a good job with the port).

Do you think it will matter? How many are planning to upgrade before this game comes out.. or will this announcement allow you to save your money and avoid upgrading for at least another year?

I was far from astonished with the quality improvements from making the transition with Ghosts. But then after time and returning back to the 360, I was amazed at the difference. The other games I've played like Thief and Titanfall really made the gaming experience much better than what I had grown accustom to with the 360.

If AW is being made for the the new gen like Titanfall, I would upgrade. The 360 is great and there is nothing wrong with it, but there is definitely a noticeable difference with the One. The only problem is the new car smell will ware off, but at least you know you're getting the best possible quality.

Of course it will be on the 360. Just like ghosts, the game was created for the 360 and ported to the xbox one. The only difference being slightly better graphics on the one.

I wish they just continued on ghosts or modern warfare. And i don't like that its futuristic.

The game looks awesome I have already pre ordered for the one and when i did it was also available for 360 as well

Well, I dont plan on having a Xbox One until a couple years from now, so if im getting COD:AW, its going to be on the 360. Probably the only difference would be the graphics.

This will be the first COD since COD4 that I haven't bought on the 360. I'm just getting it for my PS4.

High Moon Studios is making the last gen ports.

I seriously dont think it is worth getting. I have not played COD in a few months because of the recycled material that has come about with this series now.

Let me break down why I think this game is not worth it.

We now have 3 developers making COD; IW, Treyarch and Sledgehammer. IW is in charge of making the modern/futuristic warfare games. Treyarch is in charge of making games that are NOT modern/futuristic. And now Sledgehammer is in charge of making whatever it is they are making.

I have 2 problems with this Advanced Warfare game. This first problem being that with just the trailer alone, it looks too much like Titanfall. You see soldiers hoping around with jetpack like uniforms and using weapons that are too futuristic.

The second problem I have is, why is Sledgehammer allowed to make this game that far into the future? Doesnt anyone remember the whole lawsuit that IW hit Treyarch with when Treyarch tried to make their game take place in 2024? IW claimed they solely owned the rights to make CODs based in the future. Yet Sledgehammer is getting a free pass to do that? Something doesnt sound right here. Why prevent Treyarch from making games in the future but allow Sledgehammer to get away with it. I dont care if Sledgehammer helped IW make Ghosts (abomination that was), they are now their own separate entity when it comes to making COD so they should not be allowed to make that kind of game in terms of legal standing.

These games are starting to get too futuristic. Pretty soon we are going to have a COD version of Halo with the way things are playing out. They can only milk the series for so long before not only do things get repetitive and recycled (looking at you MW3 and Ghosts), but also when the games start looking like a different game franchise like Halo and Titanfall.

I honestly do NOT expect this game to do well. I understand that millions of people will buy the game to start but the problem there is that they are only buying it because its "Call of Duty". They are only buying it because of the name. Then they will run into the same boring recycled issues they have had in the past 3 years and then the forum will inevitably light up with people complaining how this new COD is the "worst COD to date" (and dont act like they wont because everyone here knows this happens every year with every COD) and its not going to change.

In all, I really dont think this game is worth getting at all. They are only trying to compete with Titanfall since Respawn is a rival due to who the president and ceo are (west and zampella, the ones Activision fired). Not only that but there is only so much you can milk out of a series before even your fan base says "you had a good run but that run should have ended 5 years ago, enough is enough, you are just embarrassing yourself now."

COD should have quit while they were at the top. But they didnt. Now they are releasing nothing but crap and the same issues they refuse to address.

Not sure if view whoring or stupid. It was going to come to 360 no matter what. Activision wouldn't pass up that last gen dollar.

I do not think the game will be worth the jump to next gen. I own an xbox 1 and it just collects dust. I wish they would make the game exclusively for xbox1 that way they can focus on maximizing that systems potential.

If I had no system right now and someone said i could choose a system for free i would choose an xbox 360.

There is NO WAY they would not make it for last gen. I imagine Cod 2015 will be as well. Would you like to know why?

Install Base..   Much greater on last gen than next gen still and will be for awhile.

Over 100k online the 360 for ghosts, less than 30k during peak times on the Xbox One. (anyone on 360 want to tell me the count at this moment?)

It would most likely be for all systems. Activision is such a money hungry company that they would not pass up the opportunity to put it on all platforms.

I know there is a huge push to try to get more people on the next gen consoles but when you look at it, those consoles are not really anything special. I have both an XB1 and XB360. I can tell you that they are both practically the same with only a few differences. No major differences that would effect gameplay or experience.

Titanfall at first only wanted to be released on the XB1 but then they figured to release it for both XB1 and XB360, that in turn made them more money. Mainly because a lot of people dont even see the point in buying the next gen console. I only bought the XB1 because they kept pushing Titanfall back and i didnt feel like waiting 6 weeks after the XB1 release and a full month AFTER the original date it was SUPPOSED TO BE released.

But when I did get the system, i can tell you, it is really nothing special. Just a different interface and enhanced graphics.....thats it.

I would say to only get it for the 360. Titanfall made a great point in saying that if you wanted to upgrade your game from 360 to 1 then you would just have to pay $10 to do so. But since this is Activision we are talking about, they would most likely make you pay full price considering how greedy they are.

As for me, im going through gamefly with this game. I stand by my original statement thinking this game is not worth it. I would rather spend $16 a month to play 1 game at a time than have to pay the full $60 for a game that I may only play for a little bit and miss the full refund timeline.

Most games that are released on multiple console platforms will have to continue to make versions for XBox360 / PS3 for quite some time. It will be some time before developers should consider dropping XBox360 and PS3 from their development cycles. The nextgen consoles just came out last year. You can't expect everyone to cough up $440 for nextgen so quickly. It's a lot of money for just playing games. I'd rather spend the money on a gaming PC so I can play DayZ. But, if I come across an extra $500 laying around, I might consider getting a nextgen console.

Buying AW for the 360. Shadow is a poor middle-class man, cant really afford the next-gen consoles without going into the savings vault.

I hope this is the last COD on last gen. At least at release date. They should push back the release date next year for last gen if they decide to make it to encourage more next gen adopters.

                                        NoLifeKing32

I would expect this to be the final COD on last gen, as it is now it is getting second class treatment, which is a step up for 360 owners as Microsoft has essentially abandoned that console. This time next year both install bases will be at least 2x what they are now, probably more, and we will see less and less last gen games.

There are still games coming out for last gen, so they are not being abandoned yet.  By the end of 2015, X360/PS3 will probably not have any more game releases.  I would expect servers to shut down in 2017 at the earliest like they did with the OX.

Since the 360 is going to be a Port, I am not sure how good it will be. Glad they focused on the Next Gen, as they should.

This will probably be the last year of COD on the X360/PS3.  The Wii U is done also.

I am not to sure about that. The next gen was released last year with barely any titles for either of them. There was hardly, if at all any, incentive to buy the next gen and even still, there is no real incentive to buy the next gen. The only game i really see worth the time is the new AC coming out in October. But that is pretty much it. According to the E3 that just happened, most of those title wont be released until Q4 next year. There are only a handful of games coming out early next year but none really worth looking at.

If the next gen had launched with a better line up for both systems, then i would possibly agree with you. Since both systems dont really have a strong line up until later next year, and even then its only a few games, i would say that 2015 may be the last year for COD on all platforms.

                                                          • Re: So, will be released for 360 after all.

I agree. They obviously need to transition it somehow to the next gen but as for this year being the last year for all platforms, i cant see that being the case. Main reason being is because the majority of players wont go out and spend over $400 on a console just because of 1 or 2 games that are next gen only. That is why the line up is so important and why BOTH PS and XB failed to deliver the incentive during the past 2 E3s. Without a proper line up of games for either system, there is no incentive to buy the next gen, therefore the phasing out wont start until they DO have a proper line up and the games nearing release.

Make it so that ALL games released are for next gen only so that people have no choice but to spend over $400 for a console to buy a game they want that wont come out until later next year or possibly 2016 while their system collects dust in the meantime?

Suggestion and reality are two different things.  Going off statistics here, I highly doubt Treyarch's game is going to be for last gen consoles.  Pre-orders are already 2:1 in favor of the next gen consoles, in 1 more year that may be 5:1.  I am sure that the console will have support for servers, but new games will be between 10-15 games for the entire year in 2015.  With the X360, EA switched over to new consoles in 2007, 2 years after the release of the X360, and I am pretty sure Ubisoft and Activision did also.  Because 2015 is 2 years after the X1/PS4 released, it is a high possibility that history will repeat itself.

As for people having a choice, yes they will.  They have the choice to either keep playing last gen and playing games they haven't played or getting a new console and playing new games.  As for a console collecting dust, if you buy the next gen games instead of last gen then it won't collect dust.  If you are waiting for only 1 game and it comes out in 2 years, then your console is already collecting dust, so just trade it in and wait for a good deal on a next gen console so you can get that game in 2 years.

Saying that they have no choice is a lie, and you know it.  People always have a choice to do something or buy something, what they don't have a choice is when their console stops being supported by developers/publishers.  In this case, it is up to the people to choose their next option, or just stick with what they have.

Saying that they have no choice is a lie, and you know it.  People always have a choice to do something or buy something, what they don't have a choice is when their console stops being supported by developers/publishers.  In this case, it is up to the people to choose their next option, or just stick with what they have.

Again, if they had a solid line-up of games to start that came out either this time of year or early next year, then i would possibly agree with you, but since they didnt release hardly anything at the start and the real A+ games dont come out til later in the upcoming year and 2016, I still disagree.

But the main problem is how long will it be before those companies decide to shut down their server? Along with people getting bored playing the same games over and over again since they wouldnt release new ones for current gen, it would only be a matter of time before they shut don the servers for the current gen because that would take more time and money than they want to spend and we all know how much companies love to cut costs any way they can.

It is NOT a lie. What you have is a delusion. Think about it, COD said they had 40+ million players that play this game. Grant it more than half do play other games but you still have tens of millions more on top of that. There are millions of people that play console games. Just because you look at the pre-orders and say they are 2:1 against current gen doesnt mean jack sh*t compared to the number of players. And going based off your 2:1 theory that means the number of current gen players to next gen players wildly outnumbers the "2:1" stat for pre-orders you have. Now i know not everyone will preorder and just buy the game after it comes out but that number will still pale in comparison.
